  1. I am so sorry to hear that you are having such an emotional break... I know how you feel because I was feeling the same way just last week. It felt like the whole world was crumbling around me... I lay awake and cried most of the night last night praying for God to show me a sign that I was doing the right thing for me and my family.... this morning when I woke I felt refreshed in my decision.... God won't put anything on you that you can't handle.... he's always there to guide you, he brought you and me to this forum so we wouldn't face this alone. I worried about not making it in surgery too.... but I would rather face a small % complication rate with surgery rather than knowing with 100% certainty that if I don't have it obesity health problems will kill me. Chin up.... wipe your eyes, we are here for you!
  2. Mom2han we are surgery twins.... I'm October 5th too!!
  3. You're welcome ! Any time you need to talk or vent just hit me up..... been told I'm a good listner. Hope things go well for you and nothing but success on your journey to a more healthier you.
  4. A support group would be a great idea! I tried taking chantix but had an allergic reaction to it.... a friend told me about the ecig, gonna get one tomorrow and see how that goes
  5. My doctor has me on a one week pre op liquid diet to shrink my liver. I can have 3 shakes a day, sf jello, chicken broth, etc..... I've thought about starting a week early just to make sure my liver shrinks
  6. Hello Susan, sorry to hear about your friend not understanding..... my advice would be to give her some time.... maybe even show her your research on the sleeve to get a better understanding. Some people are just better seeing for themselves rather than word of mouth. Hope everything gets better for you, hold your chin up and stay on course..... you have made the right decision for yourself
  7. I can't wait to not feel like I've had a 2 hour workout just taking a shower.... it's hard to wash all those fat rolls !! To not be embarrassed for my hubby to see me naked... to be able to enjoy sex without fear of how I look , to not be the blunt of everyone's jokes when I walk by , to be able to sit in the seats at concerts/sports venues..... to be able to play with my grandchild after it's born....Most importantly I can't wait for the real me that has been trapped , held prisoner for so many years to finally come out and live instead of just existing.
  8. I'm using Dr. Alvarez..... I've heard good things about mi hospital.
  9. Hello and welcome aboard ! Good luck on your journey

  21. I'll admit that at first turning 40 was kinda depressing, but now 40's is looking pretty awesome ! Spent my 20's having kids, 30's being overweight and depressed and now will be rockin my sleeve at 40.... life doesn't get any better than this! October can't get here quick enough. To those who have had surgery, congratulations... and to the ones getting ready good luck.
