    90-100!

Hey all was just curious as to see how long it took some of u to lose between 90 and 100 lbs? How does it feel? How many dress sizes did you drop etc? Any tips on motivation would also be greatly appreciated as I am at the beginning of my long journey! Thanks In Advance

Hi Luckyaya - well done on your achievement so far! It's a great inspiration! I think you are totally right about the mindset I have been thinking about it all day and I've listed a number of changes that I have to make. Fingers crossed! I'm determined to make this work. I have 90lbs to lose so any tips and secrets u can give me would be especially on knowing the signs to look out for in being full. So far I've had a few stuck episodes and lots of vomiting (bad behaviour but I honestly don't think I get the full signals, then before I know it uh oh it's too late)! Keep up the good work u are clearly doing brilliantly!!

    90-100!

Wow! What an achievement! U should be very very proud of yourself! I have decided to take a new approach to eating and exercise and make small baby step changes. Usually I go hell for leather with everything and to date that approach hasn't been boding well for me!! Thank you for the words of encouragement and the reminder to knock the devil off my shoulder reminding me cut out the bad stuff!! Best of luck for you too x

    New Year, New Us!

All the best to the UK bandsters no matter where you are on your gastric band journey! Would be great to hear from anyone in Scotland to share tips, motivate each other or just generally have a good old moan!

Oh goodness, I am now concerned! After reading all about your weight losses so far, I cannot help but panic a little! I was banded on August 1st and have only lost 2 pounds. I have a 14cc band and I have had 5 fills to the volume of 6cc. I have had a few things stuck and plenty of vomiting when I eat certain foods such as rice and bread, needless to say they are no longer in my diet!! On the whole I can still eat large portions and my bites are definitely not as small as they should be!! This could be totally the wrong attitude but I am reluctant to try losing weight on my own due to the fact the nurse will refuse to give me a fill if I have weight loss of 4lb a month. Should I continue this way til I get restriction? At this moment in time I am even unsure on what that should feel like!! - a very confused < loosing all faith> bandster
  6. Im currently 6 days post op and I can eat normal food already! Is there anyone else out there the same? Today, for example, I had toast for breakfast, soup for lunch and a baked potato for tea! I know I could risk my band slipping but I feel as if I don't eat myself to a 'full' state this should be ok.? I am not scheduled for my first until 13 September.

    6 Days Post Op

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the post so far. I don't want anyone to think that I'm being deliberately careless with my band. I chose to have it for many health reasons. It does seem that I haven't been very well educated on nutrition etc regarding all this. I was not even aware I even had sutures inside. All I was told was to have liquids for one week then mushy for the second then back to normal food after that until my first fill. Can some of you list some of the drinks/foods that are ok at this stage? How do you all manage the hunger? Thanks in advance P.Sin no way did I intend to insult anyone by my uneducated state!!! X

    6 Days Post Op

My instructions were the same but my appetite has returned with a vengeance! Of course now that I have eaten a little 'normal food' it's the only thing that will satisfy me. I guess it also doesnt help that I feel zero pain from surgery last week. In fact half the time I forget I've actually had surgery! Are you nervous about surgery? The wait between deciding to have a band and actually getting it seemed so long!
