  1. Hi everyone I been stuck at 173 for two months now. I work out 3 to 5 days a week 30 mins a day average cals burned anywhere between 200 to 285 per session. The workouts are a combination of weight lifting and or cardio. I am maintaining my weight but not losing. I eat 1375 cals a day only cause it was recommended to increase my food intake from 1200 cals cause I may be in starvation mode I was nervous about increasing my cals cause I fear gaining weight but I'm desperate to reach my goal weight of 150lbs.

  2. Hey guys! Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I've been consumed by funerals they last couple days. My cousins (22 & 23) were killed in an auto accident last Saturday. We buried them yesterday. Very trying and incredibly sad.

With that being said; I'm excited for surgery but just coming through this death process I question whether I'm making a sound decision for me and my family. Life is so precious and can't be over on the blink of an eye. Maybe I'm just still super emotional from the past several days and I hope it passes soon so I'm back on track.

    Peace

sorry to hear of your loss hun

  3. Congrats on your date! You can do it! I had to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks pre op. I never thought I could do that' date=' but I didn't cheat once... And I lost 20 lbs! Keep it up! I Ali found I went to bed very early to avoid the night cravings. Good luck. Keep us posted![/quote']

that's a good idea to go to bed early to avoid nite cravings and snacking

  4. I just approved for surgery but I have no date yet. They did my final weight check yesterday and they said I GAINED 3lbs since my last visit in late March. So before they set a date they want me to lose 8lbs by next week and started me on my pre op diet and it is hard as a

hell but I am pushing through it.

  5. Hey all! I looked around and couldn't find anything for June surgeries. I don't have my exact date yet' date=' but it will be the 1st or 2nd week of June!! Sooo excited!! I had my lap band out on April 18th and they were supposed to do the bypass, but they weren't able to due to scar tissue. I saw my surgeon today and all should be a go for June! Yay!!!! RNY here I come!!![/quote']

I was just approved but I have no solid date yet.

  6. Hi there everyone,

I just found out during my visit with my PCP that I am anemic. While researching about the RNY, I learned that becoming anemic is a possible complication that anyone can experience. Since I'm already anemic is it still a good idea to consider the RNY? I am concerned about ending up Iron injections. Thank you for your responses.

  7. Well i weight myself everyday and everyday I've increased a pound my surgery was 2/26/13 and I've only lost 44lbs' date='5 of those I've gained back.my pouch no longer feels like a pouch it feels like my old stomach.I feel as though im on a emotional train wreck.it's hard to get exercise in cause im a single mom and my youngest is 8 mos. and once i finish with chores, cooking, cleaning, changing, washing, teething im pooped!!maybe this will be another failed attempt at Weightloss again,I don't have any support groups in my area or any support period, maybe i had this done to soon after giving birth plus my surgeon acts like whatever, someone please pray for me or give me some advice please!!![/quote']

I know it's hard to get exercise in but try to do a DVD when the baby naps. I haven't had my surgery yet but with my schedule I can't get to the gym period! So I turned my home into one. I have DVDs and weights. that's all you need and they to get in 30-40 minutes a day or start slow at three times a day.

  8. I have sensed some division between the sleeve and rny patients too. I haven't had surgery yet but after research I have settled on the bypass cause I have PCOS and insulin resistance. On other sleeve forums I been on they do talk down about the bypass saying that the pouch will stretch out and you will lose restriction over time and that the sleeve won't do that cause it's formed from the non stretchy part of the stomach. In my option both surgeries can be successful it just depends on how you rock your weightloss journey. It doesn't matter which surgery you pick we are all bariatric patients and we should support each other, period!
