    Optifast diet decreasing will power

Don't despair! It take a while to get your head around it. Just take it one meal at a time. Be sure to get in your veggies that you are allowed on the intense phase. Be sure to try all the Optifast products. I particularly liked the puddings. I had 2 different times when I was on Optifast. Just remember it is a means to an end. Once I had the surgery I have never "had" to use Optifast again. I do keep it on hand to throw in my purse in case of emergency (get caught out without a suitable meal) or the need for a quick fix. Hope you can rally a little and stay the course!
  2. Well what a special day I had Tuesday! I had my follow-up with the dietician and my surgeon today in Epsom. Both are extremely pleased with my progress. However, I am now prepared for the rapid and dramatic weight loss to slow down after 6 months post op. Everything went very well and I will not have my next follow-up until 6 months from now. I will put that information into my planning process for my trip and stay back home to the U.S. Afterwards I caught up with an old friend of mine, f...

  3. I liked to puree meats and some veg. that I cooked in a slow cooker/crockpot. Pureed, corned beef was one of my favorite meals along with a little bit of the beef stock, potatoes, and a bit of cabbage. Very tasty, at least it was for me. Hope this helps.

    Goodbye, size 26/28!
  9. Updated weight: Today I only have 27 lbs. to go until reach my goal weight of 209 lbs. set by my surgeon. I still have until May 2014 before my "golden window" to weight loss is projected to close. I am happy for where I am right now and look forward to the future.

    Hello size 18!
  12. Correction! Just noticed that my new jeans are size 20 not size 18 as I had thought. Nonetheless, size 20 is still a hell of a lot better than the size 26/28s, that I have been wearing for years! Sorry for the mistake. I am still chuffed at my progress and how I look in the size 20 jeans and the size 18 top. ! Well I am still weighing in at 75 lbs. lighter since April of 2012. I have 30 lbs. left to go to reach my goal weight of 209 lbs., by May of 2014.

  15. News flash! First pair of "new clothes" arrived this morning! I am now wearing my 1st pair of size 18 stretch, straight legged jeans, since I was God knows when! I am so chuffed! Well I am still weighing in at 75 lbs. lighter since April of 2012. I have 30 lbs. left to go to reach my goal weight of 209 lbs., by May of 2014.

However, I have had to lay off my cross-trainer due to a muscle tear presumably from my jumping on and off boats for my census work. Let's hope the weight loss stays while I heal up a bit.

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Well I happy for me and sorry for you. I have not had any of the hair loss that was possible since my surgery on 11/29/12. My hair was fine and thin to start with. I do take OptiSource with Biotin added in for post bariatric surgery patients. I get it online from Walmart (cheapest way to buy it at the time). I have it sent to my dad in the U.S. and then I have it sent to me here in New Zealand. We don't get it here. My NZ dietician said to get some when I was home in the states last summer, in anticipation of having surgery here. I have been taking it regularly for about 2 months. I have 2 more bottles to go, before I need to get some more. Strangely enough, my fingernails have improved dramatically. I am able to grow my own nails now and don't have to have fingertips put on. The old me/nails had splits, breaks, etc. all the time. I hated to look at may hands without nail tips. Yet another bonus to this surgery for me. Good luck with solving the hair loss mystery. BTW I too have heard the hair loss that might experience does end, mercifully. Stay Strong and Be Well, my friends!

    November Sleevesters?

I had my sleeve on 11/29/12. Check out my progress in the 1st news story at the hyper link below, concerning the census collector for Statistics New Zealand. The collector is me! This is my progress report for the sleeve class of November 2012. http://news.msn.co.n...a3-5c763774d85b I couldn't done this without my sleeve and with the 75 lbs. that I have now lost. 21. Well, watched my TV premiere in my new 75 less lb. body. Not bad! lol If I had not lost the 75 lbs. I would have been dead by now, after having to sail to Rakino Island and crew on the boat over, and walk all over the island, climbing cliffs and dales everwhere!

  23. Correction: 71.2 total lbs. lost, 34 lbs. to go, to make goal weight of 209 by May 2014.

  24. Well I finally recovered my "Before" photo that magically disappeared from my profile! What a pain that was. Maybe now I will be able to post an even better "After" photo in a couple more weeks! Here's hoping!
