    splenic infarction

You're right Nana. When you make decisions, you have to accept the bad with the good.

    splenic infarction

Thanks for the replies. I've yet to find any other WLS patients out there who has dealt with this. I'm not feeling much better but I'm not any worse. So I suppose that's good. How long did it take for your husband to heal??

    splenic infarction

Anyone experiance a splenic infartc as a complication? I'm going through it now & it's pure hell. How long did it take for the pain to go & you felt normal again?? How did your doctor treat you? To say I'm miserable is an understatement.

    60lbs Obliterated!!

That's awesome! Congrats! I hope to be there in 5 months. What's your typical day like when it comes to meals? I'm 11 days out.
  7. I'm 10 days out & am finally starting to feel human again. I'm not coming anywhere near to meeting my water & protein requirements. If I get 15 grams of protein in a day, it's a miracle. I'm not hungry & have to force myself to "eat". I've been nursing this 1/2 cup of skim milk for an hour now. It's a chore, to say the least. I wish I could take in "food" a bit quicker. It is what it is. Hopefully in another few weeks, i'll be able to do so.

    Im going back in!!!! NOOOOO

Crossing my figers & toes that you won't have to go back in. Good luck!
  9. My big day is 2/28. I'm in a bit of a panic because I have 3 young girls. The youngest being 11 months. I'll have help the first week but then after that I'm all on my own during the days with the girls. I'll need to carry & lift my 11 month old. She weighs 19-20lbs. I think I'll only have to lift her to put her into bed & take her out of bed for naps. That's assuming she'll cooperate for me. Anyone else out ther have to deal with a similar situation? How did you cope? Any tips or ideas?? Thanks so much!

    Pureed food

Baby food is on my list from my surgeon. Whole Foods brand is really delish!
  13. I just started my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. It consists of 4-5 Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement shakes a day plus all the broth, Water, sugar free jello/pudding/popcicles I can stand. I'll take in approx. 400-700 calories a day. My questions is, can I exercise (on the treadmill or aerobic dvd)? Am I not taking in enough calories to do so?

3 weeks post op..need more protein

Try adding powdered milk to your shakes. 1oz=10grams of protein. You can add it to just about anything.

    approval for sleeve

BCBS in other states cover VSG. Check out this woman's blog. She includes letters in her fight to win approval from her insurance company. It might be helpful. Good luck! http://thediaryofafatwoman.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2008-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-05%3A00&updated-max=2009-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-05%3A00&max-results=9
