  1. I am sure your energy will be low and hosting a dinner party takes ALOT of energy!! I hope that your husband and guests will be doing the serving, dishes, entertaining while you relax on the sofa. You really won't be doing much else.
  2. Well for me when I stalled and actually gained weight I found I was eating too many calories. When I keep myself around 600-700 it is much better for me. Drink your water, eat only protein, little veggies only, I really have no carb unless found in a food. Good Luck, no worries it will pass.
  3. thank you Pipula for the insight on teavana. there is one in my area and I will make a point to go and check it out. I am a big tea drinker so I am sure I will enjoy the experience!!
  4. It looks delicious!!
  5. I know my doctor did not require any type of bowel cleanse as they are not working with your intestines. I think you should be fine either way. Good Luck!!
  6. Personally I wouldn't risk it. You may think that you chewed enough but not. Pureed chicken is actually very good.
  7. I am not an expert, but as you mention it could be because of the fat down there. I know as I have lost weight I tend not to be as smelly anywhere on my body as before. I sometimes had to shower twice a day but now once a day is fine. I bet you will notice a difference as you lose weight.
  8. Yes it has nothing to do with the original size of your stomach. My surgeon uses a 32F Bougie. The bougie is the guide used to cut the size of the stomach. It is a small size: I think 28F is the smallest.
  9. Congratulations on your removal. Did you realize that Dr Garcia could have done the revision for you at a nominal fee? This is of course if you didn't have complications. I only paid $500.00 extra to have my band removed and sleeve done in same surgery. Good Luck with your sleeve, you have chosen the right surgeon to do it, he is amazingly skilled!!
  10. Well in my opinion OP I think your post implies that you feel , "holier than though" "No mental issues with food" - if you eat the wrong foods it is still mental. 'Much lighter than others" - there are alot of "lighweights that get the surgery, you are not an anomoly. Anyway just feel that you are bragging that you were better than others to start with. Sorry to break your ego bubble, but I think you were not. I wish you the best in your healthy journey to eating right and keeping your weight off. Good Luck.
  11. OMG this is so cool. I think I am much smaller looking than I thought. What an ego booster!!
  12. Wow first off I want to congratulate you on your accomplishment. It must feel amazing to be at this goal. I have not reached mine yet, but the small goals that I have met have felt incredible. It has been years since I have been so successful(I am a band to sleeve too). Just take a deep breath and relish in this moment. Go try on all those small clothes, take your measurements, enjoy how far you have come!! You will and are maintaining this weight do not worry you are a success!!!!
  13. I cook all my meats in my crockpot so they are very soft. Have you tried ground chicken, turkey. You can do anything with these meats. How about fish, since surgery I absolutely love fish and horseradish sauce!! Can you imagine. How about the morningstar or boca products? I have tried a couple of these and they are delicious. I also roast veggies in the oven which makes them soft: zucchini, green beans, red pepper, cauliflower the list can go on.
  14. Do you all realize that this is a post from 2009?
  15. I have heard and believe it is 6 months.
  16. Congratulations on your loss!! Great job!!
  17. Woohoo you did it! Congratulations! I joined the "just overweight" club this week too. It's wonderful!!!
  18. Congratulations! What a milestone to have reached!! You did it!
  19. You wont have any issues. I had a 4 hour flight and was fine. You have no more risk of a blood clot than a regular traveler. Good Luck
  20. It is inaccurate that you can not regain with RNY, yes you can!! You can stretch your stomach and eat more. With either surgery you can chose the wrong foods and gain weight: ice cream, chips, chocolate. It is totally up to the patient how they do in this respect.
  21. I also weigh my food and use measuring spoons for liquids, powders.
  22. I'm a little confused, an egg isn't dairy? What dairy product can't you eat? Milk, cheese, yogurt.
  23. Okay so "sweats" are really no longer fashionable. As another poster said walmart has a line of Danskin workout wear made of a lovely cotton stretch material. So they are not sweat material. You can wear a matching top that they have too, not cotton but a sweat wicking material and very stylish. Have fun!!
  24. I ALWAYS portion out my food; 2 ounces meat, half cup cottage cheese. That way you really should not be overeating. Don't put more on your plate than you know you can consume.
