We have to talk about this...

You can buy these drops in wal mart; just one drop in the toilet before you go and there will be absolutely NO smell. You can find them in the toilet paper isle.
  2. My PCP recommended magnesium for my muscle cramps at night. Do a little research online. I take a calcium/magnesium supplement - 2:1, at night and have had no more issues. Try this before potassium I bet it will work for you.

    My Pouch Fights Back!

Yah not sure why your NUT recommended adding banana; it is the highest sugar/carb fruit going. If you are having leg pains try taking your magnesium/calcium supplement at night, I do and have had no more issues. Just make sure it is 2:1, two calcium to one magnesium. This also will not cause dumping and has no calories!!
  4. Congratulations on your weight loss! Skin issues are very dependent on what you look like when you start. If you have thicker, tighter skin you may not have such loose skin when done. As in your pics you had very lax, loose skin so really you can't expect skin to all tighten up and go back to normal looking. If we take a good look at ourselves while fat, this really will be what we will look like when thin, just deflated!

    Can't stop losing weight...

Can't or won't. There is a big difference. Why can't you?I can't I just tried some Pasta with homemade tomatoes sauce and I vomit the all thing. Anything solid hurts until I let it out. I was able to eat salmon. And shrimps without problem, that's why I think something is wrong. Monday upper GI with barium. How can this be a mental problem, I'm hungry, I want to eat. pasta is definitely not the best choice of foods to have. Some of us won't eat pasta again. Try sticking with your proteins; cottage cheese, soft fishes, your salmon and shrimps, soft veggie burgers, canned tuna you've got the idea.

    Am I eating too much

My understanding is that the stomach is the same as a sleeve but the switch part is what makes for the intense weight loss. I had researched this surgery prior to getting the gastric bypass. Maybe check out other DS forums as they may be able to answer your questions.

    Am I eating too much

First of all why are you even testing yourself by eating pie and bacon!! This is definitely looking for trouble. You should be measuring out your portion that you should be eating, say 3-4 ounces and that's it!! At three weeks out your stomachs nerves are still healing and you can't properly judge your intake you could seriously be damaging yourself. Start following your program that should have been laid out for you and good luck.

    A little help please

I have tried many brands and my favorite low calorie/low carb high protein one is Syntrax Nectar. It has none of the chalky, gloopy, cake batter tasting as some do. It is very smooth and delicious and comes in many flavors. I think you can also get trial packs to get you started and here at BP they sell them.
  9. I originally had the sleeve and was totally committed so yes it was easy for me. I followed my plan to a "T" and lost the weight I wanted to lose. THEN the hard part began. How do I keep it off. I have a hard time resisting foods once I start eating them so now I have to find healthy alternatives and literally stay away from any of my trigger foods; I will not be able to be successful if I "just have a bite/just have one/just have a handful". I have to accept this life change as it is a big one; I will be a minority in the world of eating out, at parties, gatherings, bars, coffee shops, lunch outings etc......BUT I love wearing a size 6 and the way I feel and look. I pray everyday for the support and guidance I need to do this!!

    Band to sleeve!

Well you still haven't told us WHAT you are eating. There are some great suggestions here of things you should be eating. You actually are not starving, you have head hunger and probably stomach rumbles as your stomach is still healing at 3 weeks; it takes up to 8 weeks to be fully healed. Talk to your surgeon or nutritionist about your eating plan and get help, sounds like you may be lacking guidance in this area.
  11. It definitely can take a while to feel better. I went from sleeve to bypass and it took probably about 6 weeks to start feeling better. It definitely is a major surgery and because you already had a surgery on your stomach I think the second time around, it takes a little longer to heal. Go slow and take care of yourself and time will heal!

    Goal Weight and handling comments

I am not sure how realistic the BMI chart is for everyone. I now weigh 165 at 5'10". I do look thin and can feel bones readily. Not sure it this is what a normal BMI should be. I agree that those that have never seen us this thin think that we are too thin. Say if we only had to lose 10 pounds it wouldn't be so much of a difference in the way we look. I also wear a size 6 pants and size S-M top. Is this really normal? I thought the average women's size was a 12-14; how can this then be a normal BMI? Doesn't really make sense.

    Christmas, Before and After

Congratulations! You must be so proud of your accomplishments! Enjoy your family and friends! If you have time could you expand on what you will be eating during your cleanse, it sounds interesting.

Weigh, measure, track, commit: a Christmas plan

Congratulations on your re-commitment and plan to get back on track to lose the rest of your weight. I do believe however it is a mistake to call it a one year stall..............you wouldn't to give any new bariatric members the wrong idea; you can't have a one year stall.

    SO Tired of Protein Drinks!

In the last couple of weeks I discovered adding a scoop of protein powder to plain greek yogurt. 1/2 cup has 12 grams protein and then whatever amount your protein powder has. I love it and have a few different varieties that I make and have it everyday for lunch!

Do You Eat Breakfast? What Do You Have?

I have breakfast everyday; an egg with with turkey bacon or sausage, or 1/2 a veggie burger, sometimes I add in a cheese or an egg with cottage cheese is one of my favorites. I have tried a protien pancake but it is just too dense for me right now I can't eat it yet.

Do I need to use this powder?

To me also Isopure is gross. My favorite brand is Syntrax Nectar, no carb, no sugar and low calorie. I am sure they are pushing the bariatric one as they sell it and of course make money from that. Many of us here are using all different kinds and doing well. Once you find one you like stick with it.

    360+ pounds?!? help!

Having had the sleeve and now the bypass I definitely suggest the bypass at your starting weight. You will have better results. For me I have better restriction and feelings of fullness with the bypass than I did with the sleeve.

What goes in, must come out, right?

Well it only makes sense not to take so much. What are you taking and what dosage? It really sounds like you don't need to be taking one. Is it just preventative?
  20. Where did you get the article from? I would like to know who wrote it.

    Everything is disguting

Well you can get just about any vitamin in liquid or chewable form. I have a liquid calcium. And yes everthing does get better day by day and week by week. Hang in there!

    Can't stop losing weight...

So it seems strange as many posts have asked the original poster what she eats..................no response. The bottom line is you are still losing weight because you are eating few, low calorie foods, simple as that. There are many higher calorie foods, softer foods, soups, that you could consume to gain weight. The bigger problem could be a mental one; fear of gaining/anorexia.
  23. Threetimesacharm

    What foods are you eating?

I am just over 13 weeks and still eating cottage cheese, yogurt, eggs, fish(white and canned) canned meats. I don't eat beef or pork and if chicken is not moist enough it is really hard to eat, I prefer dark chicken meat.
  24. Threetimesacharm

What can you have with bypass

You will only experience dumping if you consume too much fat or sugar. So no, not everyone will experience it. Do research on gastric bypass, it may what can cure your reflux and help you to keep your weight off.
  25. No I did not have to make this sudden change however I have had the sleeve and converted to the bypass. In my opinion gastric bypass is much better for restrictive weight loss. I am very happy to finally have the bypass. Don't worry you will be fine with the bypass probably better!!
