Sleeved Aug. 3rd- Did you feel like this?
Threetimesacharm replied to Missing Me15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have EXACTLY the same thing. My doctor has prescribed omeprazole 20mg twice a day. I took one this morning and did have any episode this afternoon. The first time it happened was after I had my very first protein shake; did not know what it was. -
Fish - Dumping
Threetimesacharm replied to Spiceyfrog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
According to the "Big book on Gastric Bypass" yes fish can make you dump. I am so sorry to hear this for you OP. I am only 10 days out and LOVE fish I can't imagine not being able to eat it. I also now am so scared when I get to the soft food stage to try it. I can have pureed tuna I sure hope I can tolerate tuna. I think I will start with a tablespoon and see what happens..... -
Upper ab pain and tender when deep breath
Threetimesacharm replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have pain after eating it sounds like you are eating too much. Try eating slower and stop before you get pain, normally you should have a satisfied feeling not pain or full. -
My doctor said NO to surgery!
Threetimesacharm replied to bhopeful's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Have you considered self pay and going to Mexico? They have amazingly skilled surgeons who have performed thousands of surgery and the cost is minimal and no wait. I have been three times now to Mexico for various surgeries and would not hesitate to go again. Bariatric Pal can actually provide you with more information and coordinate everything for you, this is who I recently used. They are amazing!!! -
My doctor said NO to surgery!

No the OP said that people that "are on the medication that she is on" only lose 5-10% not with weight loss surgery -
Tell me about the recovery house for BariatricPal
Threetimesacharm replied to Dawny28's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Here is the truth about the Grand Hotel, it is absolutely awesome they have two medical tourism floors there and they are beautiful rooms I had one on the 11th and the 12th floor. There is no noise and the rooms are spotless. The people there will do anything to help you, they are awesome. Yes I can say I missed being with those at the recovery house but you don't have your own washroom there, and I really needed my own washroom. Also I had used one of the restrooms(the one with the walk in shower) and the toilet moved!! There is only air conditioning in your room and while I was there they were having a heat wave and I didn't want to be stuck just in the bedroom all day. There is a communal living room. Hope this helps. -
Star medica vs puerto vallarta 6600 vs 4500? Help!
Threetimesacharm replied to Munecagirl85's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You really should look into the doctors here at bariatric pal. I just had a revision from sleeve to bypass and my surgeon was amazing, no complications I had Dr Zavalza. Please PM if you have any questions, I also believe the price is just over 4000.00. -
Got Incomplete Roux-en-Y gastric bypass
Threetimesacharm replied to soseverian's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What city/country are you in? I believe all surgeons have an assisting surgeon. He sure sounds like a quack. Could you provide more details as to where you had the surgery and details leading up to it? -
truth be told, I don't think at any time fast food is a good idea, just my opinion. Most of us got fat by eating this crap!
-
Are you sure you should be eating fast foods? I hope that it was not your nutritionist who recommended these foods. Try to puree some of these foods; cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, beans, canned meats, and canned fish as in tuna.

What a success You are!! I don't know if congratulations is enough! You are truly an inspiration and someone who has dedicated themselves to get healthy and follow their program to obtain the utmost of success. I am sure you would say it has not been easy but well worth all of the time and energy you have put towards losing weight and obtaining your goal. YOU ROCK!!!
-
At only one month out I would hope that you have more of a commitment to your weight loss than thinking when you can eat garbage food again, yes that is what got you to 400 pounds in the first place. Go find a great nutritionist and discuss what you should be eating/how much and when if ever you can have a healthy burger patty(no bun). Sorry to be so blunt but getting so close to poor eating habits now will not make you a success in the long run; I am sure you didn't have your stomach cut and guts rearranged just to go back to eating burgers and pizza DID you?

Struggling day 7 post op
Threetimesacharm replied to Lopez1628's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately if you can't make it through one week, chances are you won't be successful; just stating the obvious. Your stomach has barely had a chance to heal; how can you do this to yourself? Take a step back and revisit the surgery you just had and why. Good luck -
So I am having my revision from sleeve to gastric bypass on Friday in Tijuana with Dr Zavalza. Right now can't say that I am nervous or anxious just relaxing and preparing for my flight to San Diego tomorrow. Wish me the best and welcome me to the new "GB losers bench".

How is the sleeve still working after 3-5 years?
Threetimesacharm replied to Kym Preslar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
okay so as someone who has had the sleeve for 3 years and going for the GB on Friday here is my opinion. Following the diet for me and losing weight in the beginning was very easy for me. I actually went way below my goal weight. Then I remember Christmas came around and it was then all down hill for me. I have been struggling for the last 1.5 years up and down. You will be able to eat anything, especially snack foods. I am hoping that the GB will help me not to have sugar and carbs, I really fear the dumping syndrome so I am not sure if I could eat sugar knowing this. I wish that I had just gotten the GB in the first place. Now I have lost weight and kept it off; 60 with the lapband and 50 with the sleeve hoping the remainder will stay off with the GB; I am just tired of being FAT!!! -
Looking for buddies .. Surgery on Sept 4th!

Hi there, I am having a gastric bypass on Friday but currently have the sleeve..............maybe we could touch base! -
HELP Dumping!
Threetimesacharm replied to Sunshine3073's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
If you are only a month out it is waaay to early to be eating chicken, it is one of the hardest foods to digest. You should be having soft fish and beans for protein, cottage cheese, yogurt. -
So my surgery is next Friday September 4th and my pre-op diet is going well. Anyway, I woke up this morning having had a horrific nightmare! I had a dream that I ate two butter tarts post surgery and was devastated and afraid of something going wrong! Wow I must really be worried subconsciously!! Has anyone had such a pre-surgery worry?

Day 3 Post Op: Am I Normal?
Threetimesacharm replied to Kelsey Marie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try to make your protein shake very thin. Syntrax nectar drinks are more like flavoured water than a protein drink. Make sure that you are constantly sipping your water, like all day long! -
Does anyone feel pressured by surgeon to have the bypass (instead of sleeve)
Threetimesacharm replied to Mayastone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I currently have the sleeve and am revising to bypass on Friday; enough said about that. I truly wish I had the bypass in the first place. If you have acid reflux I believe your only option is the GB, good luck in your decision. -
Newbie & Awaiting Surgery Date & Artificial Sweeteners
Threetimesacharm replied to Lose2BFree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Firstly good luck with your journey. Now secondly if you are only worried about sugar in your coffee maybe this is something you would be willing to give up? There are also different types of artificial sweeteners; have you tried Stevia? Having the sleeve yes I can have sugar, but unfortunately I can have everything else; I am now coverting to the Bypass. -
