Needing Reassuring
Threetimesacharm replied to jocelyndavisss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
James it is very unrealistic to make assumptions as the "sleeve is slower and RNY is quick". We all lose weight at different speeds regardless of the surgery. For you it was "natural" to stop losing weight; it may not be for all. Just wanted to point out that there is no one right way for us all. Each of us have our own weight loss journey that can be so unique to us. -
Damn. Back to clear liquids!
Threetimesacharm replied to toasty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear you toastie. I actually am a bit nervous to try a food. I can barely get in my shakes to satisfy my Protein requirement. I don't mind waiting a little longer for food; heck I'll have the rest of my life eat!! How about trying soft fish? Great source of protein too!! -
Creamer in coffee? 5 days pre op?
Threetimesacharm replied to RGraham87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No coffee no creamer. After surgery many doctors do not recommend having coffee after surgery. I can't even stomach decaf right now. Detox off it now if you can. -
1 week post op and a bit confused
Threetimesacharm replied to HeatherMiguel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you shouldn't feel full from water, but most definitely when you have your protein shake. I would suggest slowing down. It takes me about 1 hour to have my 12 ounce shake and sometimes I can't finish it. -
5 months post-op and 75 lbs. lost!

Damn. Back to clear liquids!
Threetimesacharm replied to toasty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every doctor does have different eating plans. But just because they say to do it doesn't mean you have too. In my case at 19 days post op there is no way I can start purees yet, my body does not feel up to it yet, so listen to your body. My NUT is on board with this and says some can take 4 weeks to get to purees. Also I hear chicken should be the absolute last food to try, some say that canned, like tuna, may be easier. Stick to pureed eggs, tuna, soft fish, beans, cottage cheese and yogurt. -
Anyone else feeling emotional?
Threetimesacharm replied to kmc0812's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear you, I saw the Pope on TV today and started bawling!! It is a grieving of sorts. Knowing that you absolutely can not have certain foods we are grieving this process, I think that this a good thing for us in the long run. Hang in there I know it will get better!! -
Gained 2lbs 3wks postop
Threetimesacharm replied to Jazziminna's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I gained 1.2 pounds and have lost half. I think because your body is going through such a big adjustment weight fluctuations can be expected. Your not doing anything wrong; neither am I. Just keep doing what 'yur doing and hang in there!!! -
Total Appetite Loss
Threetimesacharm replied to ReeseDarling's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I hear you Reese I am only 17 days out and struggle everyday to have my shakes I can barely take two down but I am supposed to have three. I think we should look at this as a blessing as one day I am sure our desires for food will come back and then we may struggle with that for the rest of our lives. So........................I am grateful right now!!!!! Congrats on your weight loss!!! -
Tummy tuck questions about scar
Threetimesacharm replied to Meintraining's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The vertical incision is to help with tightening around the middle and giving you more shape. Depending on how you look now many who just have a regular TT lose the shape at the waist. I have had the vertical scar and my incision has healed very well and is barely noticeable. You would be surprised about the muscle tightening many do need this. -
Arm Lift Revision
Threetimesacharm replied to shellbell125's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I personally have had an arm lift in January 2013 and had great results. I have had other plastic surgery where I feel like you that they did not remove enough skin in the first place. Having consulted with another PS he did say that with bariatric patients you really have to be aggressive when removing the skin. It looks like your PS was not aggressive enough. If you can go to someone else I would, otherwise definitely I would go for a revision. -
I was Sexually Assaulted at the Obesity Good Bye Clinic
Threetimesacharm replied to a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Sounds like you are taking this a little to personal; I understand why. Again I have the right to express my opinions; I truly am sorry that you don't feel that way. -
I was Sexually Assaulted at the Obesity Good Bye Clinic
Threetimesacharm replied to a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
To be clear, I do not have a FEAR of her story stopping travel to Mexico, it is an isolated incident. I too have a right to my opinion and state it here on this open forum. -
I was Sexually Assaulted at the Obesity Good Bye Clinic
Threetimesacharm replied to a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am truly sorry to hear of your trials while in Mexico. I do however feel that you should have let the hospital/co-ordinators respond to you first with what they will do about this situation before you brought this to us. You can't let one terrible persons actions in Mexico affect all travels to Mexico. Unfortunately, considering your state after surgery, you really can't be sure what was done to you and by whom. You first mentioned you booked with Bariatric Mexico and then you mention Bariatric Pal; these are two different co-ordinating groups. I have travelled alone to Mexico 3 times and have had the utmost of care, professionalism and comfort all three times. -
Heartburn and bypass
Threetimesacharm replied to MichJohn77's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I also had a revision from sleeve to bypass on sept 4th. I was prescribed omeprazole to take twice a day for two months as my stomach heals. I hear that we really shouldn't have any reflux after our stomach heals. -
How long can you expect to lose weight
Threetimesacharm replied to laurarogersclark's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Did you mean your surgery was 2014? No your loose skin will not go away without plastic surgery intervention. Congrats though on your weight loss, good job!! -
Cold since surgery - is this normal?
Threetimesacharm replied to Dream4tc's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums

Switching surgeons after today's visit... Very discouraged
Threetimesacharm replied to luvhermitcrabs's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgeon commented that the sleeve surgery now is like the boob jobs in the '80's!! Everyone seems to be getting the sleeve but for many of us gastric bypass is the way to go! -
11days after gastric sleeve
Threetimesacharm replied to VegaJackie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes your left side is where your stomach is. They would have pulled your excess stomach out through the incision there. Take it easy relax and let your body heal! -
How soon after surgery for exercise
Threetimesacharm replied to India928's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The elliptical is much more strenuous than walking. My surgeon said 3 weeks until more than just walking but IDK I think for me that may be too soon. I am just going to listen to my body. So I say walk, walk, walk!! -
Coffee after surgery?
Threetimesacharm replied to RGraham87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Coffee not only is a diuretic but also is very acidic and can cause problems with your stomach healing. I can have decaf but probably won't everyday as I am still in the healing phase. -
Star Jones weight gain (80 lbs)
Threetimesacharm replied to hopefullythininme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am pretty sure the white bathing suit picture is her before surgery.................. -
Well we shouldn't even try to eat and drink at the same time; for this reason I would give up the drink and just go for the dinner then. If they all want to go for dinner wouldn't it be easier to eat a healthy small portion, they shouldn't balk at this and no issues then!

thank you for your answer that sounds great!

Hi Natalie, I am in the full liquid stage and know that we can have thinned creamed soups but what about tomato soup? Or is it too acidic?
