Bored With My Soft Food Phase
Threetimesacharm replied to Kimba46's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
What about soft cheese. Laughing cow are great. I put one in with my tuna or egg salad. I also melt cheese on my chicken. I use a little guacamole on my fish or tartar sauce. I have been loving horseradish so this also goes on my fish, the creamy kind is delish. -
Just Got Back From Surgery With Dr.fernando Garcia
Threetimesacharm replied to Myweightlostjourney's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Nurseghana I think you are confused. The coordinating company and their review is totally separate from Dr. Garcia. If you have read my posts you will see that I say Dr. Garcia is amazing but for ME ready4achange was not. -

Does The Hunger Go Away After Surgery....?
Threetimesacharm replied to Fair2bslimLady's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am not hungry. You will not be hungry as they remove the part of the stomach that stimulates hunger. What most experience is head hunger, the wanting of foods. What I have also posted is that having an empty stomach is not hunger. As a fat person we are always filling our stomachs so as not to feel this empty. This will be something you will experience. Water will always fill you up so it is a good way to make sure you get your water intake daily. -
One Week Out First Scale Victory
Threetimesacharm replied to earth2terra's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No don't be concerned about calories at this point. You want to focus on water and protein intake. You really should not be feeling hunger. I am 45 days out and this morning didn't want to have my shake but knew I needed too. I hope that my hunger never comes back! They do say though that around 6 months you may have hunger again. -
Perhaps Its Time I Share My Story..
Threetimesacharm replied to bsmith's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What a horrific ordeal you had to endure. It is very good to hear that you are doing much better and I certainly hope that you will not have any more complications. Your words should not be taken lightly and should be to the wise. Any weight loss surgery should not be abused, the outcome, like yours can be devastating. To all who read your post please understand the severity that abuse can have: The following quote from OP. "Unfortunately, I misused the band and ate whatever I wanted and then threw it up. I did this every day after almost every meal." Best of travels to you -

5.5 Months Out, 61 Pounds Down, Sz 26- 14 And Feel Fatter Than Ever
Threetimesacharm replied to slimshadee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most women do not have perfect body proportion sizes to fit in clothes exactly. Most of us have to get our clothes alterted to fit us. Keep this in mind when shopping, different manufacturers also cut clothes differently. Don't be discouraged when you try clothes on; realize the potential once the clothes are altered. -
Just want to piggyback here on sleevedreamer. Yes it is all about "A NUMBER". It is also why we get the sleeve to LOSE WEIGHT and in most cases to be healthier. So one way to measure our success is looking at any of the ways above that include a number. One other thing OP, if you so want to be off the site why do/are you returning to psot replies to your original post. See you haven't had enough..................but maybe you should go.............good luck to you.

Feel Like I'm A Failure
Threetimesacharm replied to mufasas-mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh please hang in there! You are and have been successful. I was sleeved on September 10th. Out of surgery I gained 7 pounds and took a week for all the fluid to leave me. I then lost 21 pounds BUT then stalled for 10 days which during this time I also gained 2 pounds. I was very hard to deal with even though I new my stall would break but like you I thought what did I do this all for? Please don't beat your self up. You are doing the right things. I know for me I try to get 60-80 grams of protein a day which includes a protein drink for breakfast. My stall broke and I have lost 5 more pounds. The weight will come off, you are a light-weight as they say so I think you are right you may lose slower. You can't compare your self to someone that started at 400 pounds. You are a success, I wish you well! -
Whats Wrong With Me?/
Threetimesacharm replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because your stomach has emptied does NOT mean that you have to be hungry. You don't need to have food in your stomach all the time. I know as a "FAT" woman for me that probably was the case, but not now. You have to learn the difference between real Hunger and just an empty tummy. -
Whats Wrong With Me?/
Threetimesacharm replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well GRANDMOTHER you have come on here looking for help and butterbean has offered you some sound advise. As you well know there are many different eating plans that patients have been using. By your post your eating plan is NOT working for you because you are "always hungry". Take his advise or leave it but don't criticize his opinion as I beleive it was given with kindness. -
I'm Starving!
Threetimesacharm replied to barbi1281's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yah you are NOT starving. It is probably head hunger. 85% of your stomach has been removed and this includes the part that would normally make you hungry. So have your liquids but do other things to occupy yourself, this surgery is life changing, you are a very different person inside. -
Is this file meant to be opened?

Protien Requirement And What To Eat At 3 Weeks Out
Threetimesacharm replied to suzqlvq's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
it is good to have a protein shake to get a good amount of protein. I have one a day for breakfast. You need a minimum of 60 grams of protein a day. Eat your protein first, right now I am not eating any veggies just protein. I am still on soft: eggs, cottage cheese, canned meats, tuna, soft fish, crock pot chicken, yogurt. These foods are also high in protein. -

Threetimesacharm replied to Myweightlostjourney's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The Doctor and facilites were great! I have absolutely no complaints in this area. Dr Garcia is an amazingly skilled surgeon. I actually had a revision with no complications, no gas, really no pain. I think I am doing great with weight loss: I had gained 7 pounds after surgery, took a week to lose it, then I lost 21 pounds, then stalled for 10 days. I am back on track again and so far have lost 32.2 pounds, yahoo! -
Mexico-Dental Work.
Threetimesacharm replied to lessofmeismore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may want to check out Tijuana. I had my VSG there and I know that they have some good plastic surgeons that I am sure could refer you to a good dentist. One of my surgery mates went to the dentist when she has her VSG and said it was good. -

I am still on soft foods. I make my chicken in the crock pot and it is delicious. I also have cottage cheese, luncheon meats, all kinds of cheeses, eggs, chili, canned meats(tuna, chicken) and I absolutely love white fish and horseradish on anything I can put it with!! -
Cravings!
Threetimesacharm replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The cravings are all head hunger. You have to find something else to occupy your mind: exercise, go for a walk, go to the movies, call a friend, go shopping. Please do not have a high calorie ice cream full sugar fruit drink; it is so not worth it and it would probably make you very ill.
