Ok my husband and several couples went out dancing and 2 men - strangers I might add- asked me to dance - that hasn't happened in a very long time!

I find the same to be true regarding the weekends. I am struggling with the carbs and as a lap band revisionist feel like I am not doing as well as the rest of you.

I was sleeved on the 10 of sept. down 34 lbs - I need a do better talk.

I really need help dressing. I have been going thru clothes that still have the laundered plastic bag on them. They have been there for at least 3 years. A pair of jeans I got into I've had for 10 years really I need to go shopping.

I am so happy for you!!! You are inspiring me to get to the gym.

Susan, it seems to me you have great regard for your friend and will love her regardless of her opinion of this surgery. I suspect she may change her mind once you lose weight. I failed with the lap band so I agree that the fear of being unsuccessful again is just a dreadful feeling. But I am quite upfront with people about it. I have a very large family (8) siblings and they all know. Sent from my iPad using VST

I had the band and lost only 40 to regain 30 - now have the sleeve and in 4 weeks have lost what I did with the band. Be sleeved

This has been an interesting thread. I am Tip and I live in Texas. I am married to a wonderful supporting husband and have one son age 16. My son has show cattle so we travel the state going to stockshows most of the year. We have 2 toy Australian shepherds that travel with us:) My husband and I own our own biz - a home improvement company that keeps us very busy. I have battled the weight thing since I was young - and in o7 I had a lapband put in. I was unsuccessful - needed to lose 100 and lost only 40. Gained nearly all of that back. So I was sleeved in September. I pray I am successful this time around! Well, that's my life and I look forward to the next year as I get healthier.

I am sorry about your parents. Even in the midst of despair your sleeve is still working for you - we are all glad you reached out and you have what it takes to get back on trAck. Keep checking in with us - OTR is good about keeping us all in line:). Praying you find comfort.

I guess I am in the minority here but... Maybe your co worker was trying to pay you a compliment - did she use the wrong words? Maybe. Does she know how difficult this life style is? Probably not. I just think that maybe we tend to judge people harshly. I would have probably done the same thing you did - stand there and wish you could have found the best words to say - hey I am a weight loss overcomer - thanks to new technology skilled surgeons and self restraint:) not up mention a pocket full of cash..... - anyway, don't hold it against her - "father, forgive them for they know not what they've done" - easy for me to say right? Congratulations on a job well done!

I wish you much success in your weight loss journey Tom! Your son will probably never remember you as a large man - well what am I saying you are 6'6 - my father was 6'2 and heads turned when he walked in the room - I look forward to hearing your success stories!
