  1. My hubby loves the new flexible me
  2. Coffee is the only thing I do that was not by my nuts guidelines, I quit for about two months but I Had to go back, I used to fill a 20 oz thermos every morning now I just do 8 oz and the way I sip at it last the same amount of time. I use skim milk and Splenda. Very few calories, I don't feel guilty at all, I still eat less than 1000 calories a day. I wouldn't be sane without my coffee !!! Lol
  3. I think I've become one of those people I used to roll my eyes at! I've totally become carb phobic, I judge the menu by how many healthy things are on it, I'm always looking to "split" something with someone lol! I workout 6x a week. Instead of diabetic meds at my desk I have vitamins. I get excited when I hear about a new low carb, high protien, all natural snack bar!! What happened to me!!! LOL! I used to want to slap people like me and shove a donut down thier throat :-). There is a coworker that just did the Boston Marathon and is a big health nut, before she would talk to me and I've give her a blank stare Abd think the was totally crazy for running so much and depriving herself of sweets etc, now we're besties and share nutrional finds/tips. Anyone else become a crazy health freak?
  4. Don't feel bad about the stall your doing better than me, I had surgery 5/3 and have lost 45 lbs. i lost 20 lbs before surgery , I have not had any stalls really, just losing slowly but steadily. I know I'm doing all the right things , low carb, low calorie , exercise about 5x a week, I guess I'm just made that way, but as long as that scale keeps going down I'm happy and I try real hard nor to compare myself to others, for example someone that was sleeved after me and has lost more weight than me lol!!!
  5. I've wondered the same thing, my nut never set a calorie goal just a protien goal , make the food choices etc etc. I'm always under 1000 calories, and according to myfitnesspal that's too few. I also exercise about 6 x a week. I've never had a 2-3 week stall but my weight loss has been slow. Some people say the starvation theory is a myth ... ??? Idk but im ok if I keep moving, though slowly, towards my goal.
  6. I agree, I always stall during that week then after I'm down about 4 lbs and I exhale !! Lol
  7. That's great!! U look awesome !
  8. I'm 5'2 and 39 yrs old. My staring weight was 290, my goal is 130-140 or about a size 8. I'm puerto rican and pretty curvy which I want to keep ( so does my husband!) so I dont want to get too skinny. Mainly I just want to be healthy :-) ohh and my mantra is to be fabulous at 40!!!
  9. I'm getting bored with my snack choices so I was wanting to get inspired!! So tell me what is your favorite post op snack??
  10. That's awesome, I'm so happy for u!
  11. I agree, it was probably the bread, I also do sandwich roll up, no bread, I also stuff avocado in the middle,
  12. May 3 for me, I was 270 at surgery and 228 now!! I had lost 20 pre op so that's 62 total!! I just recently started buying new clothes :-), I've also become a workout junkie!!! I've amazingly lost my sweet tooth, but still struggle with my protien intake. We ROCK !!!
  13. I started exercising at 6 weeks, mostly cardio first because I enjoy that more, but I have been doing more and more strength training for same reasons u mentioned. I usually go the gym but yesterday I got my set of resistance bands in the mail !! So excited also got a copy of those insanity DVD!! I know I'm crazy, I never thought I would do any of those much less enjoy it.
  14. No issues here!! Had surgery 5/3/12. Down 60 lbs, my biggest complaint is the metal taste in my mouth which I just learned via this chat site that is normal due to ketosis :-).
  15. That's awesome!! I wanna go out and just sit at booths just to prove I can!! Lol
