  9. Glad to hear you are doing well! Is your throat sore? I remember waking up from sleeve surgery and telling them how bad my throat hurt. It was worse then my sleeve pain!

  11. I am so sorry that you are going through this! I wish you a speedy recovery!
  12. We all can post links to prove our points. It is used in both. I constantly see people correct someone that says is used as a first step is DS. No one is not saying that it isn't, but surgeons also use it for pre RNY. This forum is full of people trying to prove they are always right. I wasn't aware that was the purpose of the forum. Thanks for the links thought. http://www.obesityaction.org/educational-resources/resource-articles-2/weight-loss-surgery/laparoscopic-sleeve-gastrectomy-a-newcomer-to-bariatric-surgery
  13. I have a sleeve and I am being converted to bypass. So it can be done. Also, in a lot if literature they do say the sleeve was done as a first step to RNY. It is used to get weight down because it is a less invasive procedure for those with very high BMIs. I think people get caught up on the whole DS thing because everyone thinks the sleeve and DS just automatically go together. I wish you the best and hope they find a resolution fast for him!
  14. Not to jack the thread, but your new profile pic is amazing! Your face looks so slim!!!
  15. Dawn thank you for the shout out! That is so sweet. It has been a pleasure. I am glad you like the office and drs as much as I do! It helps we have the same insurance. I am over the moon excited for you!!!
  16. Thank You! I hear there bariatric unit is great. I cannot wait to hear about your experience!
  17. There are various reasons for revision. Mine include a sleeve that is twisted and now distended at the top because the food is not emptying the stomach the way it should. It then backs up and caused GERD. I also lost 43lbs by 11months post op and gained that back in pregnancy. My sleeve needs to be fixed. But my dr feels revision is a better option in my case.
  18. I am at Fair Oaks too in Oct. Whose your surgeon? There seems to be a few of us having surgery there.
  19. There is a lot to do! I did my preop nurse appt for anesthesia and abdominal sonogram Monday. I have medical clearance appt this Friday. Then on the 10th another NUT appt and on the 15th final surgeon and NUT appt. Preop diet starts on the 7th!!!
  20. Thank all of you all. I know each of our experiences are unique but it is nice to hear of others in a similar situations!
  21. @@Karen B45 Thank so much very your response. I have decided to take 3 weeks off. My surgeon said at least 2 so I figured 3 was a happy medium. I am nervous as my sleeve recovery was a breeze. My surgery is 10/21.
  22. This is awesome! Good luck to the @@guyfrom315 and @covarrubia911. You are almost done with preop!!!
  23. I would not believed you had you not posted a photo to prove it! J/K!!! Go ahead with your bad self! You look great!
