  1. I was an extremely slow loser some months I lost nothing. I was working out 6 days a week, going to my monthly NUT appoints, following plan. And I lost at a snails pace. Then I would log on to forums and see the weight just falling off of other people. Even my cousin who had RNY said she could not believe how hard I was training. So yes, I had those thoughts. Although I tried not to compare myself it was a bit frustrating... I am a pear shape and it is known that is is very difficult to get rid of the lower half.
  2. Wishing you the best of luck! Keep us posted on your recovery!!
  3. @@zumbapink I am pass the two year mark but I don't think FEPBLUE considers medical necessity. I am still waiting to get endoscopy but also starting 3 month requirement. Do you suffer from GERD too?
  4. I totally get it! The bariatric coordinator at my office took almost a month to get back with me regarding insurance requirements. I am a revision patient. I already knew what I needed to do. I could be on month two of medically supervised weight loss. I was so irritated! Thank goodness for the patient coordinator. She helped me get to the other coordinator. I think some of the people are insensitive to an already sensitive, emotional situation.
  5. did you have your surgery with Dr. Halmi? Or are you still in approval process? I just started the revision process with him.
  6. @@Lovinlife48 you look great!!! I am revising to RNY and can't wait to feel those NSV's congrats to u!
  7. [q uote name=Fab@Forty" post="3823233" timestamp="1430711722]Dr Moazzez is my physician. So, I go to the original FFX office beside the hospital. Okay I am going to new Lake Ridge office
  8. So are you guys going through the Dr Halmi's office Bluepoint Medical Assoc or Bluepoint Surgical?
  9. I was a perfect sleeve candidate. No comorbidities, no gerd. I has a BMI of 42. All my tests came back good. I did everything I was suppose to and I have developed terrible Gerd. There is no way for the doctors to know i would be in that percentage. Honestly when researching sleeve and it's side effects Gerd didn't even stick out to me because I never dealt with it and thought it would not be me. It is not fun at all. Going through the process of another surgery is not fun. I guess having the sleeve was a chance I took. Now on to surgery two. Everyone's experience is so different. I really wanted to love my sleeve, but I don't.
  10. Is there anything on the can eat list you like? I am currently looking at a revision for similar issue and I know that from what I have been reading the losses can be a bit slower. Just remember the RNY is so different than sleeve. I am typing this as my heart is burning.. Hoping for relief soon. I can be emotional as well. Going through surgery twice sucks!
  11. Hello! Thank you Alex for including me. My name is Tamara. I just turned 40 this year. I am married to my best friend for 6 years. We have a 9 year old and 11 month old; both girls! I had my VSG in Bogota, CB. We now like in Virginia. I am a chick that met her dude on blackplanet.com (don't laugh) there is such a site. I always enjoyed Susan and Irene's posts from way back. There are also other members Ms Skinniness and PDXman.... That I use to enjoy reading about that always gave good insight. I know there is more but I am old and forgetful. I think it's the kids that make me forget everything.
  12. Thank you for this forum. I was one that was very active and left the boards due to the amount of negativity at certain times and unrealistic expectations of some. I came back because I am considering revision surgery due to gerd, hernia, and lack of weightloss post pregnancy. I am looking for others that have had revision surgery. I had my VSG done in Bogota, CB by an amazing team and had great follow up care. We are now back in the US and I will most likely have surgery with Dr. Halmi.
  13. I had the sleeve in October 2012. I have since had a baby and gained weight during pregnancy that is not moving. My upper gi shows extreme gerd and a distended sleeve. Now looking at a revision. I am a bit disappointed to go through this all again and I know many of people that did really well with Sleeve. I also now those that did well with RNY. I like the fact there is more long term info with RNY and with the sleeve not so much. My surgeon informed me he has seen sleeve distention post pregnancy and I can't find any data......i worked my butt of to lose 53lbs and it is frustrating be dealing with gerd and no weight loss...
  14. Of course not!!! You have to do what is best for you. So many people have done fabulous with the sleeve. I am sure you will do great!
  15. Oh it's been two years. I had surgery Oct 2012... I can't imagine if it is due to medical necessity they would make you wait anyway although that topic is not clearly covered in the handbook.
  16. May is right around the corner for you!!
  17. Are u going to Dr Halmi's office or the other office?
  18. That is good to hear. I hope my insurance does the same. The sent the upper gi results but I can't even get in for endoscopy until end of May. I hope you have great results. Please keep me posted!
  19. I am in the same process. My sleeve dilated during pregnancy (I was not overheating) it was a difficult pregnancy. The weight I gained I have not lost and my gerd is horrible. So I went in for a the upper gi and barium swallow a few weeks ago and he determined that I have severe gerd and a dialated sleeve, which he says he has seen in several post pregnancy sleeves. I am scheduled for an endoscopy the end of May. In the meantime, they are contacting my insurance regarding revision. I have BCBS Federal, I am not sure if I will have to go through all the requirements again. So just waiting. Good luck to u.
  20. I had sleeve and developed gerd.... Now looking at a revision.... Not fun going through all this again. Good luck on your Journey. I did not have gerd presleeve. I wish I had read more information prior to.
  21. To bad I didn't keep the 53lbs off....
  22. I am not scheduled for endoscopy until May. The nutritionist is sending everything to the insurance, she thinks they will tell me I still have to do 3 month diet. I am not sure if I mentioned in previous post, I was pregnant and my sleeve stretched. He said I am not the first patient he has seen that in. Here's my thing there is not a whole lot of data yet about the sleeve. Everyone assumes if sleeve stretches it is because one over ate. I was so sick during pregnancy small meals was all I could eat. My capacity has grown since then. I have very little restriction...
