    Skin Creme recommendations?

I've been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter products...specifically the Scar Care oil and Skin Therapy Lotion. It seem to be helping and it smells like chocolate!

    Falling of the wagon...HELP!

WOW! I could have written this post! I was sleeved in July too and have been on a self-imposed stall for a while now. I do have good stretches of days where I do well, which is keeping me from gaining and even losing a few ounces here and there. What I've been doing is planning ahead for meals and keeping my fridge stocked with good Snacks (I don't keep bad stuff around. Going out and being at work is my downfall.) and bulky veggies which fill me up fast. I've really been into steamed broccoli and cauliflower with a bit of good romano and asigago cheese melted on top. Sometimes I'll eat that with a bit of tuna or by itself as a meal. Take some time to write out a plan (if you write it out, like goals, it's more likely to be a reality) and then commit for a day... it will turn into a few days. I still allow myself to have wine and appetizers on weekends with friends. Just know that all is not lost and remember that you have an amazing tool in your sleeve which allows you to trick your "fat brain" into thinking it's full pretty easily. Keep reading posts and join a support group... You'll get over this hurdle and drop the next 50 pounds before you know it. All the best to you!
  5. Went to Knott's berry Farm last night and was able to get on all of the coasters! Admittedly, a couple of the belts were tight, but I could have never done this six months ago! This is a huge milestone of many and many more to come. I know I sound like a cliché infomercial, but the sleeve is the best thing that's ever happened to me. C'est bon la vie!

    THATS not self control!

I started going to Overeaters Anonymous a few months before having surgery and it has really helped me identify my eating triggers and make better choices in general. I'm glad that I paired it with the sleeve.
  10. If you really want to stay with this person, you two are going to have to have some major counseling sessions with a professional. If not, consider this: You are young, beautiful and starting a whole new life...do you want to live like this? Do you believe you deserve to be treated like this? I know all this sounds cliche, but have to decide if this is your time to thrive, be healthy and discover the new you OR are you going take time to deal with his immaturity and try to fix his insecurities? My opinion- move on.

    Before and after

    Excellent! Congratulations!
  12. I slime when I eat chicken or something that is too dry. But it also happened after a spoonful of frozen yogurt and another time with avocado. I think my "sleevie" is sensitive to textures. It usually passes within 5 minutes and I have not thrown up once since surgery. My NUT said that if something causes slimming, I should wait a few weeks before trying it again.

    Second major stall...

Give it time...I was sleeved on July 12, and dropped about 30 pounds the first month and 10 each month after that, until...NOVEMBER. I stalled the entire month of November at 259 and basically lost and gained the same pound all month. I have to say that even though I've not lost weight, my clothes are getting baggier so I'm definitely losing inches. Are you tracking measurement? I'm being very careful about my carb intake and making sure to get walks and weight training in a few times a week. I'm starting to lose again...255 today! Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Hope you're stall is behind you soon!

    Onderland! Wonderful!

I would clarify with your nut about the no protein supplements and no vitamin directive...that is opposite of EVERYTHING I've read here and, more importantly, what my surgeon and nutritionists advised. You need protein so that you are not digesting your own muscle and with our limited intake, we have to have vitamin supplements. Try the gummy multi-vitamins...they are easy to eat and taste great. I've been on vitamins and protein shakes since surgery and have lost no hair and am feeling full of energy. You're doing great, by the way! Keep up the good work and best of everything to you! Congratulations!
  19. Chicken, especially white meat, really bothers me and makes me slime. I've also lost the taste for eggs, which I used to love. I'm only four months post-op so I'm optimistic that it will get better.
  20. My weight loss really slowed down in September, but picked up this month. I dropped five pounds in the past week! For those of you slowing down or on a plateau, it does pick up. I found that getting in my walks and doing some bike riding (and not really that intense) really helped get the pounds moving again. I'm feeling great and enjoying life so much more. To all the newbies and pre-op folks: it's not all Love and Light all the time, but, for me, it's been worth the journey. Much success and happiness to you!
