    Early Post Sleeve Dating

This is only my opinion, but it's important for us sleevers to take a step back and prioritize when it comes to eating and making accommodations for others that would somehow jeopardize our sleeves and success this early in the game. You are not even two weeks out from surgery! Take care of you and your sleeve...if Mr. Wonderful is so wonderful, he will be patient and understand that this should not even be a discussion at this time. I have friends and family who think that everything can be the same as pre-op, and I have to remind them that I practically had my stomach removed and traditions and patterns are forever changed.

    Bariatric Advantage Vitamins- Anyone?

I have a ton of them too...they are gritty, chalky, way too big, and intolerable! Sorry, this may not help you sell your vitamins, but my advice to anyone looking at their website: BUYER BEWARE!

    Strange?

I thought I was in the clear, but I have noticed that chicken and sugar can cause quite a bit of pain and I usually begin slimming (not fun), so I stay away from both. Unfortunately, I've discovered that breads and crackers are not a problem at all...eeep! Tomato products don't seem to bug either.
  5. Mine look exactly the same...was thinking about trying Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream and oil for stretch marks and scars...it can't hurt and it smells like melted chocolate! http://www.palmers.com/product/detail.php?ID=74&SID=6

    How Is That Even Possible?

I'm so sorry you had to endure that...sounds like a miserable time. Scary stuff. Yeah, on top of all of that you are experiencing a stall which really make you question your decision to have the surgery. My stall hit at exactly the same time. Sending you positive energy and well wishes. You will see weight loss soon. All the best.
  9. Hope your recovery is going well...can't wait to hear!
  10. Such an exciting and nerve racking night! All the best to you. You're going to love your sleeve.

    Constipation Is No Joke

This issue is my only regret. My doctor recommended MiraLax, but I wish I could drink a big glass of Metamucil...that would do the trick, but it wouldn't fit in my sleeve. Hope you're feeling better soon.
  12. You are going to do so well and love the surgery. Best of luck to you....and sex does get better!

    Post Op 4 Days Help!

MIne growled a lot for about a week and then it went away. Be sure to walk to help get the trapped air out. The air and one of my incisions caused the most pain, but it went away after about 8 days.

    Soft Cheese On Pureed?

I eat the Baby Bell light wedges (35 calories) and Sargento reduced fat cheeses (string cheese (50 calories), etc).

    In N Out

Funny, I had an In N Out Burgers moment today...was passing by and thought how delicious one would be...I even tried to rationalize how I could have one with out the dressing to save calories. Luckily, it was all in my head and I wasn't actually hungry. I also thought about how one cheeseburger would exceed my total calories for one day. These moments do happen, but you have to remind yourself of what your goals are and let your weight loss motivate you to keep going. Besides, a big greasy burger this early in the game would probably make us sick.
  16. WOW! Well said! We could all use these reminders from time to time! I think I may enlarge and print this so I can post it on my bathroom mirror.
  17. Best of luck to you on your recovery! You'll be home soon dropping the pounds!

For Those Who Weigh Every Day -

I just bought the app...interesting. I too like to weigh myself daily and it seems to motivate me to get through the day either wanting to continue on the right track or readjust my calories and activity if I've gained.

    Ghrelin and memory / learning?

This is all very interesting...Since surgery, I've experienced lots of problems with spelling. When I'm typing an email or writing for my website, I will misspell a word and know that it is incorrect, but for a split second, I am unable to identify the error and I have no idea how to fix it. It's like being stuck in a fog...spelling purgatory! It's not as bad in week four, but it's still there. Hopefully, it will go away soon.

Why Am I Still So Hungry?

My stomach growled a lot for a couple of weeks after surgery, but it stopped thereafter. I didn't equate it to hunger, but to healing and gas. I also have concerns that I have not had any problems getting food or liquids down in 1/2 cup portions (even soups at the end of week one!). I did notice that I started to feel full quicker once I began eating pureed foods and things like cottage cheese. I'm also dealing with head hunger...I try to ask myself if I'm truly hungry before I grab for something. I've noticed that since I've returned to work, I am falling into old patterns: I used to eat at my desk while working and always had a snack around. Now that I'm back, I'm eating sleeve friendly foods, but more frequently, which is raising my calorie intake up to 800...I'm supposed to be at 600 still. I'll be working on breaking that habit now that I've identified it. Like Misty said, everyone is different. Hopefully your hunger will subside.
  22. I was cleared to exercise after week three and started doing weights (mostly chest and arms to start) and have been walking 2 miles a day since about day three.

    Sliming Question?

I started sliming this last weekend and it seemed to be a result of consuming a very small portion of non fat frozen yogurt (it was literally a spoonful). It happened again today when I ate a piece of a banana. I'm thinking my kryptonite for the time being might be sugar since other diary products have not bothered me. I'm glad to hear that it is not always permanent although an aversion to sugar could be a positive thing!
