TMI - Constipation
Hey all... haven't been on here in awhile so am playing catch up. Still doing a ton of research even tho I am 17 months out. I have suffered with constipation issues since surgery in February 2012... Ok.. honestly have always suffered with little bit of a pooping issue. Anyway, saw on a facebook page someone who had started taking a probiotic and lost 5 lbs in one week. Granted I was intrigued.. even tho I have achieved my goal weight and then some. Seems like there are several studies that support gastric bypass patients taking a probiotic and the benefits of it. I have attached the link to one of these pages. So, I started taking a probiotic once a day. The results were immediate to say the least. When I say immediate.. there wasn't like and instant gross out take... lol... but normal... soft poop the next day and then again the next day.. and now day 3.. again normal. So sorry for too much tmi... I just wanted to share. Because seriously I have SUFFERED with this issue for 17 MONTHS and I feel like this may be the answer. Not a doctor and haven't discussed with my doctor... but have yet to find anything negative about taking a probiotic http://mercyhealth.webhealthyrecipes.com/Weight-Loss-Surgery/Good-Health/Bariatric-Nutrition/Probiotics-Help-Speed-Weight-Loss-after-Bariatric-Surgery.html

Fairy tale
It really does take alot of planning. I am one of those people that eats every 2-3 hours. Something with Protein. Baby bel lights, greek yogurt, chicken, fish.. I have never counted calories but my fitness pal says I average between 700-900 calories a day. I strive to get 75-90 g of protein. I have now gotten mFP set on 1000 cal. Strive to hit that to stop the weight loss and even things out. I tried swimming and weight training. But walking has been the thing for me. I started... or should I say struggled with a mile at first... slow going. Now I do about 4 miles a day and average about a 13 minute mile walking. So pretty fast pace or at least for me it is. Exercise... find what works for you because if you hate it you wont do it and I believe it is a key part to this whole process. Again thanks you guys for all your kind words!!

Fairy tale
Most of you know my story... Had surgery 02-21-12. Weighed in at a whopping 340 lbs. today I stepped on the scale and weighed 147. For a total weight loss of 193 lbs. I can't begin to express how much this surgery has changed my life.... For the better!! For those of you just starting out... This can be done you just have to stay vigilant to the program and be patient. For those of you still fighting for every pound you are having to lose... Keep fighting. I love this forum more then anyone can believe. It has kept me on the straight and narrow and allowed me to help others

Its not fair..... My heart is broken
Oh honey I'm so sorry for your loss!!

I miss food!
It is so normal to mourn food. I got so mad at my family for being able to eat normally... until I had a stern chat with myself that I did this to me... they did not do this. Hang in there. I will pass, it is just the normal progression of how things go. Try chewing ice chips, sleep, read.. anything to get your mind off of it. There is no magic cure to make the feelings go away just have to find another way to channel it.

Gained the weight back
macaw... this just made my heart break and is one of my greatest fears. Please go back and see your surgeon or at least a nutritionist. You can get back on track. Remember the struggles you had to get this surgery and how good it felt to be smaller. Take it one pound at a time. Remember you will always have a support system here. Good luck!!! Also, you might want to start logging what you are putting in your mouth on my fitness pal now so that whomever you decide to go see can have something to look at as far as your daily intake. You might be surprised as well at some of the choices you are making. 13 years is a long time and I know that the surgery is basically the same with some tweeks.. maybe a re-do might be an option!! Hugs your way
