  1. Hey Everyone. I was very excited ( possibly over-excited) to share with you all a pumpkin cheesecake recipe. I have been feening for something yummy and pumpkin. I changed the recipe slightly due to the fact I wanted to use fat free cream cheese to get rid of the fat of course. This serves 8. I also used a glass pie pan to bake it in. ORIGINAL RECIPE-Ingredients [*] [*]2 (8 ounce) packages light cream cheese ( not fat free) [*]1/2 cup Splenda granular [*]2/3 teaspoon vanilla extract [*]2 eggs [*]1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree ( not pumpkin pie filling which contains sugar) [*]1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon [*]1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice [*]whipped cream (optional) Directions [*]Preheat oven to 325°F. [*]In large bowl combine softened cream cheese' date=' Splenda, and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer until smooth. Blend in eggs, one at a time. [*']Remove one cup of batter and spread into bottom of glass or crockery baking dish which has been sprayed very lightly with non-stick spray. [*]Add pumpkin and spices to remaining batter and stir until blended. [*]Carefully spread pumpkin layer over first layer. [*]Bake in preheated oven 35-45 minutes or until center is almost set. [*]Allow to cool, then chill several hours or overnight. [*]Serve with whipped cream if desired and wait for compliments. [*]I used a 10" by 8" glass baking dish to cook this. Next time I think I would double the recipe and only increase to a 9" by 13" baking dish to make a thicker cheese cake. This would show of the layers better. Some cinnamon dusted on the top would have been a nice touch. I added about 3/4 cup of Splenda in the mix. I also added a sprinkle of cinnamon to the top of the cheesecake. I broke it down on paper myself to get the right calculations that we need to know. Per slice: Calories- 85 Carbs- 5g Protein- 9.75 g Sugar: 4.5 g I have not tasted it yet since it is currently cooling, but I'll update you all tomorrow when I bring it into work!!

  3. Hello 9/25/12 sleevers, how is everyone doing? I haven't been on in a while. Barisaxylady you are doing great! As I said before I had another surgery in Dec. and it was a hard surgery unrelated to vsg. Now here goes, I started at 229 pds and now down to 160 so that's 69 pds. I will take that loss. Just started walking on treadmill and working on eating and Protein now. I had my checkup and dr said I was doing good. She said the goal weight they give you have a year to a year and a half to reach. I'm short really short 4'11.5 and the dr goal is 148 but I think I can go 10 pds less 138 that's my goal. I hope we all have continued success and shopping sprees!

  4. New year - new mini-challenge: April 1' date=' 2013 - April Fool's Day! Hey, we're no fools - working our sleeves to the best we can and making goals that inspire us. Encouraging and congrating one anothers accomplishments, taking advise (good and bad!) ... it's a very good thing!

    Today's weight in (1/1/13) - 209

    Goal for 4/1/13 - 179

    Total loss -30 pounds.

(Lowest weight since had children was 178 - my daughters, 18 & 19, have never seen me under 200 lbs. This will be a very cool year for me, no doubt! My youngest daughter graduates from HS, it will be nice to enjoy the festivities without feeling ashamed of my appearance like I was last year at my eldest daughter's HS graduation.)

    Good luck everyone![/quote']

    Happy New Year to all,

I would like to join in the challenge.

  7. So they are coming out of the woodwork...... I have been to two events over the last 2 weekends and everyone is now calling me and texting me to either see what I have done or am I sick. My best friend for whom I didn't tell' date=' told me not to lose anymore weight because I was looking sick. Have you seen my last pic. I have been sick must of my life.. I was sick and dying earlier this year bedridden d/t my heart and now everyone wants to come out and be oh so concerned about me. I chose not to tell anyone because everyone I told was against it... now that I have lost over 80 lbs they want to show their heads. I am so happy now, I love the compliments but for the ones, my so called friends and family that didn't care about me then...why do you care now... Only a hand full of people did I tell about my surgery and I am happy about that decision. It is no ones business and it will stay that way. Thanks for letting me vent.

p.s I purchased a dress 2 weeks ago for my son's wedding and had to to take it back Sat morning because it was falling off of me... I am now in a size 12 and loving every minute of it. [/quote']

You are doing very good with your weight loss! Let the haters wonder. You did something for you and your health when you had the surgery. That's awesome you had to get a different size in 2 weeks WOW! Keep going forward.
