  1. Hello All I was banded 8/27/2012. I have lost a total of 33 lbs, and now find myself 6 weeks pregnant. I have wanted to get pregnant just did not expect it this soon, I've already lost 4 during pregnancy, I am making sure I am eating, but want to do it right. Now I know I'm pregnant it seems like food goes down easier. I haven't had a chance to contact my nutritionist but thought I would ask those here with experience. I was given a 6 month supply of Protein Shakes from my doctor. They are high calorie high Protein no sugar protein shakes. They are okay on my stomach as long as they are cold. If I drank these twice a day with one healthy meal and a snack would that be okay? What was your experience? did anyone continue to loose during pregnancy?

  2. So today I was feeling pretty good and decided, okay maybe I can try to lay on my stomach.

Not the best idea. UGH. It HUUUUUUUUURT. I had to call for DH to help me, I felt like a turtle stuck on it's back, I finally got up and have some soreness at my port site now. I am icing it, I hope I didn't cause any damage.

How long before you were able to sleep on your stomach again?

Also just wanted to let you know I have been extremely hungry today it is terrible, I wish I could exercise but I am not cleared from the doctor yet.

  4. After two weeks liquid diet, surgery on Tuesday and a couple of days not being able to eat at all.... Today is the start of my pureed diet. I had 1/2 cup yogurt at Breakfast. And lunch I had 2oz tuna and 2oz. Mixed veggies pureed. All I can say is canned tuna never tasted so good. I'm glad I can keep food down. Dr did fill me a little at the time of surgery so it does take about an half hour to 45 minutes to eat. The wait has been worth it. Also I got really sleepy after eating, anyone else experience this?

  5. I kinda figured it would be silly lol. The meds do help take the edge off. I think I can remember the Dr saying he had.to reapair a hernia, but I was so dopped up I could have imagined it. I will call in a couple hours. Thank you all for the.well wishes. I think I went into this thinking my pain.threshold was higher. I am extremely happy I did it.

Side question. Did anyone else find it hard to eat after, I'm not hungry at all

  6. I was bandee yesterday and let me tell you I'm in so much pain. The surgeon told my husband it took longer than expected, but DH did not ask why. I am in so much pain where the port is I think. Also to add insult to injury I gained 5lbs. So far I am not hungry at all, and I've been sipping Water, and I'm in the most pain I've ever been in..

  7. Tomorrow is the day!

My surgery is at 2:15pm PST if all goes well.

I have done great with the clear liquid diet the past two days, the pre op diet, I did have a few tiny little bumps, I hope that doesn't effect me with getting the surgery.

I have lost a total of 15 lbs pre op.

I cleaned out my closet and got rid of those close that are, ya know, easy to grow into, and found some jeans that are adorable and tiny. i'm so excited to be able to get into them soon.

    wish me luck.

See you on the other side.

    xoxo.

    Cass

  8. I have a similar problem. My husband eats nothing but fast food 2-3 times a day. He doesn't have a weight problem, no cholesterol, no diabetes. He's a perfectly healthy (young) man. I hate him sometimes. I have been starving myself on this 100% liquid diet for the past two weeks and full Clear liquids for the past two days. The only thing I can say is be an example.

Why cook two meals? Make something healthy for your family too, it'll eliminate temptation for you and, if they don't eat it they can fend for themselves. I am making no plans to cook anything special for my husband, if he wants something different, he can take his wallet and his car to go get it, or make it himself. Think this is YOUR health, not your husbands, not your kid's, not your sisters, not your mothers. They might not like you now, but when you are healthier and alive longer i'm sure they will see your intentions (or mine in this case)

  9. Ew! I don't have to do a liquid diet. I'm on 2 Protein shakes a day and 1 meal (8oz lean meat, 1cup veggies, and 1 cup fruit). I hope the liquid post op isn't too bad. Lol

You are lucky. I had to do two weeks pre op full liquids. and 48 hours pre op full Clear Liquids. bleh, I think i had a total of 500 calories between yesterday and today. But surgery is in about 16 hours and I've lost 15 lbs, so i'd say in the end it has been worth it
