  1. Just go to google and type in Dr Almanza and read some stuff
  2. I am about 10 days postop and I still need to do a thorough review of my experience in Tijuana, but if you are looking for a very skilled and compassionate surgeon then please check into Dr. Francisco Zavalza. I had a great experience and now that I'm at home, I feel wonderful. I had a very easy recovery that's for sure. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any!
  3. I am trying to drink the protein drinks but they make my stomach churn. And the broth is so disgusting. I want to keep my protein up so I scrambled me an egg today and it went down good and stayed down. The only thing is my surgeon still wants me on full liquids. I've read that some allow eggs at this stage and some don't.... did anyone else eat eggs/mashed potatoes a week out?

    Eggs 7 days postop

    Real soft scrambled
  5. You wouldn't feel comfortable with Dr. Ponce?
  6. Rocky, I tried warning Alex that having Dr. Almanza on his team is going to give them a bad name quick. As I'm reading on here its already happening.
  7. I don't have a clue why bariatricpal added Dr. Almanza to their team. I think a lot of the complications that have happened they just don't know about. However, I did go with Dr. Zavalza and I had a wonderful experience with him. I definitely recommend him for sure..m Almanza...no way
  8. Yes, check into Dr. Zavalza I am leaving today, but had such an easy recovery and great experience.
  9. No, Rocky I didn't. I am trying to make Steve set him up an account and do it lol
  10. Check into Dr. Zavalza . I booked through here bariatric pal he's a great surgeon. And I am in the recovery condo now, not in a hotel. I have had a great experience. I have to head out tomorrow to go back home
  11. I am in Mexico now my surgeon is Dr. Zavalza. I choose the sleeve because I didn't want to mess with getting the fills and I wanted a permanent option as well.
  12. I had my surgery on March 20th and Dr. Francisco Zavalza was my bariatric surgeon. I am currently still in Tijuana and will do a full review of my experience when I get back home. Nothing but wonderful things to say I am in no pain, no complications (which was my biggest fear) and I am being well taken care of. If you have any questions please feel free to ask
  13. If anyone doesn't believe me just go message poor Steve Kaiser
  14. I can promise you that I am not a coordinator. I love people and if I can help someone out by sharing this, it could possibly save their life in the long run. He does 10 surgeries a day! They send you back to a hotel with your drain still in to recover.... It's awful
  15. Please forgive me, but why would you still proceed to book your surgery with him after you have read many negative things? Please reconsider.
  16. I am here right now love the doctors and no regrets
  17. After waiting and wondering if this day would ever actually come, here it is! I'm so nervous, but excited as well. I'm currently at the airport about to board the plane to go to San Diego, Ca. Then its over to Tijuana! I'm having a same day surgery and my surgeon is Dr. Zavalza. I will make updates along the way! Keep me in your prayers!
  18. Check out Dr. Zavalza! I'm heading out in the morning for my surgery :/
  19. I finally made a decision on my surgeon.... After 3 years of researching and reading stories, talking to numerous coordinators and surgeons, I have picked Dr. Zavalza. This had to of been the most stressful part of this entire process. It's already scary enough leaving the country alone, but to pick a surgeon and hope and pray he's a good one! In the beginning I paid a deposit it have surgery with Dr. Lopez and Osuna, but chickened out and got my money back. I continued reading stories and then decided that I would go with Dr. Garcia. He had soooo many positive reviews, and I was interested in the single incision surgery. After talking with a bariatric surgeon here in Houston I realized I didn't really need to spend the extra money on the single incision when a lot of people say the other scars are hardly even noticeable. So I was all prepared to go with Dr. Garcia when I saw that bariatric pal had some specials going on. I looked over the surgeons and I knew Dr. Ponce had great reviews, and he used to be around 6k when I first started researching all of this. Then I saw Dr. Zavalza and he looked familiar to me.... The reason being because he worked beside Dr. Garcia on his team. He has just branched out on his own now, doing his own thing. I was added in on the Facebook group and talked with some patients of his, and I trust him to do my surgery. I have also seen how much he truly cares about his patients. I am still extremely nervous and don't really know what to expect, but I will be sure to keep everyone posted I am leaving on the 20th! Ahhhh. Wish me luck!
