Whenever I call they always tell me they can't tell me anything over the phone, that I need to come in and get checked.

Good for you! I'm losing very slowly. I'm kinda getting discouraged. I have lost about 23lbs since being sleeved on the 12th
-
I think it would be ok. I've had toradol a couple times since surgery.

Multivitamin Making Me Sick?
kaysonsmom replied to Azemarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use flinstone chewables-the gummies don't have thiamin so my nut advised against using them. -
Can we eat cereal with milk? I have been wondering this since we shouldn't drink with our meals.

When Can I Start My Puree Foods?
kaysonsmom replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeons outline was clear liquids days 1-4, full liquids days 4-21, soft foods days 21-56 and regular foods after that as tolerated. Didn't u get a book or anything saying when to move on to different stages? All surgeons are different. Maybe call ur surgeons office and ask when u can move on? -
Thanks everyone. Maybe ill use the leftovers and tear it up and add bbq sauce.
-
Thanks. Those are some good ideas.
-
Yeah I had the tenderloins today. I don't think its a good idea to buy the monster ones cuz it would take a week to eat.
-
I take flinstones complete chewables (1 in morning and 1 in evening). My Nut said not to do gummies cuz there's no thiamin in gummies. And I do citrical gummies for calcium. (1 twice a day). I think I'm going to start a b12 to see if my energy increases.

I'm 3 weeks post op and have no energy at all. I know it takes awhile to get it back but id like to know how my levels are looking. My surgeon doesn't do bloodwork till a year post op. I see my PCP on the 14th to go over meds and I think I'm going to request that he check my levels of everything.

I was sleeved on the 12th. July 9th I met my surgeon and weighed in at 241. Yesterday I met with him and weighed in at 222 so 19 lbs down. The first week was the worst for me. Getting liquids and protein was fine but the pain of the main incision was horrible. Dilaudid was the only thing that I got relief from and it lasted only an hour. I saw a p.a. at my surgeons office at 6 days post op and she did a trigger point injection around the incision and that helped a lot. Now the pain has been getting better. I bought a bike today so I can go for bike rides with my son. My physical therapist said people who lose the majority of their weight in the first 6 months are more likely to keep it off so that's what I'm going to work on.

Two Weeks And Some Issues.
kaysonsmom replied to aaron1976's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks out too and I'm dizzy 90% of the time. I'm on full liquids (hopefully moving up to mushies tomorrow when I go to my follow up appt) and I'm very ready to eat something with more texture. I sit here and just get a dizzy feeling in my head and then start to sweat a little. I don't know if its cuz I'm not getting enough fluids in or what. I'm pretty darn close to 64oz a day. Maybe ill get an answer at my appt tomorrow. -
Anybody In Their 20's
kaysonsmom replied to myownjourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 26 and 18 days post op. -
I'm still in quite a bit of pain. Don't want to take pain meds cuz I'm horribly constipated. I can't get anything to work. It feels like trying to push a softball out of a small hole. I only hope things get better.
-
After lots of pushing I finally got it out. Now I have a headache lol. I hope this is the hardest stage of this whole post op part. I'm only 2 weeks post op but hopefully things will start getting better from here.

I'm afraid to try the MOM cuz its already there just can't come out cuz its too hard. I have tried stool softener and miralax.

Any Single Parents With Toddlers?
kaysonsmom replied to iceshayw's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am a single mom and I have a 5 yr old. It has been hard I'm not gonna lie. I haven't been able to rest and he is always wanting to go play outside in the hot weather and he doesn't understand that I can't. I try to keep him occupied in the house. He has a leapfrog explorer and a ds that I try to keep him occupied with. -
Are they normal? I have been dying all day. I am sitting in the house with the ac on and I'm sweating like crazy. When I sleep I wake up soaking wet.
-
I'm on full liquids. I've been having yogurt and broccoli cheese soup and premier protein shakes and I have been drinking powerade zero and water.
-
haha I wish! I live in Wisconsin.

What Are People Drinking On High Protein Full Liquids/pureed Stage
kaysonsmom replied to Jeniluv1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Part of my post op diet is drinking 1 cup of carnation instant breakfast in between my "meals". I get the chocolate. Its not too bad but I find it very filling.
