    Seriously Stupid Serves

I have been to Lazy Moes. It is mental how big the servings are even before deciding to take action about my weight I could never eat what was served in front of me. The chicken parmas are bigger than the plate and then pile about half a kilo of chips (fries) on top. Since getting the band I've decide that smaller portions when eating at a restaurant means I can go for quality and spoil myself with expensive entrees which I will end up sharing with my man anyway. Where as before so much of my meal choices were mostly about what would fill me up.

Explain to me what egg drop soup is? I'm an Aussie so we might have another name for it.

    Shoulder Pain

I'm 5 days on from my surgery and tonight I got this awful pain where i think my band is. Below my ribs on the left? It feels like its knocking against something or rubbing. I am constipated and was worried I put a little too much effort in in the bathroom. I have taken some pain killers, enough to usually numb everything but every time I move it hurts. It's 2:30am in Aus and I'm trying to decide if I should page my surgeon.

    Blood Clots?

Oh yeah I had those freaky air boots. I'm not sure that's the technical term but i had never seen them before. They kinda put them on and they inflate/deflate like a light massage to help with circulation. I also had a blanket that filled up with hot air to warm me up before surgery.
  5. Im at a similar stage. I feel bloated and sore but thank god that post surgery gas has gone. That pain was evil. I had a hiatal hernia repair too and I can't burp at all. I'm a bit sad about that. In my more childish moments a decent belch is not only satisfying but hilarious.

    Blood Clots?

I don't know anyone but it's certainly a risk for anyone having surgery. My surgeon was really thorough about reducing the risks. I had to have an injection the night before my op and obviously had to wear the compression stockings before during and then days after my op. Apparently being heavier puts you in a higher risk category. Fortunately no clots for me but happier to be over cautious cause you never know.

    How Much Have You Lost?

I'm new here and I love reading positive achievements. It's early days for me. My band was put in on the 9th July so I'm still tender but My weight has shifted enough for my back and knees to not hurt so much and as soon as im up to more than walking, im going to get on my bike, go back to swimming and pick up Go Go dancing classes again. Congratulations to all of you. I'm so telling my other half about the elephant penis. Don't ask me how I've seen one but I have and they are Huge!

Has Anyone Read The Posts On OH?

It's nice to hear all sides and you will never really know the whole story from ppl. I had mine put in on the 9th July so it's less than a week and I'm sore and a little freaked at every little weird sensation but I'm thrilled that I'm not hungry all the time and I can't wait to get into some excercise.

When Did Your Gas Go Away?

I had my surgery the other day. I have that brick feeling. I am in pain a lot but I can't tell if it is gas or not.

    Post Lap Band Diet

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I am very committed to getting this right. So does moving and excercise help with the gas pain? Are there other things that help with the gas? It's awful.
