  1. @LC-- Be sure to post in the other thread I Titled *e waiting room*.. We will check you in and check you out! @ Tank- Not sure who you were refering to in the above post but I am from Richmond VA. Also, Congrats on your date, it is slowly but surely approaching! @ FireRose-- Its coming up! Get ready! I am excited for you @ MrsO-- I am super excited for you too.. How about excitement and prayers for all?!?! Let's go January Sleevers!
  2. Perez, From my dealing with Aetna, they are pretty quick. I honestly dont think my approval took a whole day. My file was given to the nurse on 12/6 and by 12/10 I called in and they had approved the surgery.. I just wonder if I had called on Friday like my O.C.D. self wanted to, would it have been done? lol.. I hope for a speedy decision for you. Did you do the three month or the six month program for Aetna?
  3. aerie74-- Congrats on your date.. Are you excited?
  4. Tank- I am tentatively scheduled for Jan 28th per my insurance. According to my surgeons office they will be calling me this week to schedule the actual surgery date (in january) once the surgeon reviews the file. When is your surgery date Tank?
  5. Congrats and I am glad everything went well. You are home safe and sound and that's all that matters, (besides your awesome progress so far! :-) Enjoy and keep us posted!
  6. To all -- I dont have my surgery date yet but I do know that any support is good support!.. I have met a few people on line and been with them every step of the way online. Feel free to post here when you are on your way in and when you are on your way out of the hospital.. We are here for you! Any one being sleeved in the morning? Let's Go! We will be your personal cheerleaders!!!
  7. I have made an Orange Crush, Sweet Potato Pie and Banana Peanut Butter smoothie with the flavors. Out of the three, the sweet potato one was my favorite. I just experiment with different items until I find something that I like and that doesnt have a lot of calories and carbs.. I did the liquid diet as a trial run for two weeks while i was on my 3 month preop phase
  8. @ byebye-- Yes you can get them at Walmart.. They are not that expensive either. I bought 12 (3 4 packs) for about $15. @acting- I also have the Vitamin Shoppe WheyTech Pro24 Protein powder in vanilla and banana creme (not a big chocolate fan). They taste good when mixed correctly.
  9. What type of shake did you create this morning?
  10. congrats to you both on a successful surgery! Sleep well and keep everyone posted, (as much as you can :-) ) on your progress.. Welcome to your new life!
  11. Update update! Pink, still no response from your dr?
  12. BeGuiled-- My prayers are with you today. May the lord bless your surgeons hands to be steady and swift. Place power in your body to heal quickly and safely and I pray you have no complications afterwards.. Go forth and be sleeved my dear friend!!! I will be here in the "e-waiting room" waiting for you to recover :-)
  13. I once was where you are. I was adamant that I wanted the lapband. I read up on it, joined the forum, etc. It really hit home for me reading all of the complications afterwards. Being nauseous, or having a stuck episode, sliming, I just didnt believe i would be able to endure that no matter how short lived they may be. Making the decision to have the sleeve was not an easy feat but nonetheless I am here. I am comfortable with my decision and now await my surgery date. There is plenty of good information on this site. They even have a section for those who previously or have the lapband and are looking to or have revised to the sleeve. Good luck!
  14. I am hoping to be sleeved in January. My surgeon all but told me December does not look promising. Good thing Is, i will exhaust my out of pocket expenses for the year, so all other dr's appts will be covered 100%! I do hope they get you in in time to have your surgery before the end of the year. On the brightside, if they dont, we can be surgery buddies! My fingers are crossed for you
  15. congrats on your approval. i too was notified that I was approved today. My surgeons office has yet to call, but given that his assistant is probably pissed that i got approved with her negative self, she will wait as long as she can. She is the one who told me that I would not get approved as she has tried to send in approval for a 3 month multi disciplinary program and the insurance told her no. I think she just tries to get her surgeon more bill time un beknownst to him. Any who.. enough venting. Just be calm, I am sure they will call you befofe the week is out to schedule. Are you hoping to have your surgery this year or next year?
  16. beguiled-- Best of luck and hope to you on your surgery tomorrow. My prayers are with you and I wish you a safe and speedy recovery. Please keep us updated on your progress as soon as you feel up to it.
  17. most homemade shakes I have seen use Splenda instead of sugar. I am not in that phase of surgery yet. Honestly even the premade shakes have Splenda or one of the other artificial sweeteners in them. Have you tried EAS Advantage shakes? I find them to be tasty, vanilla and chocolate that is. Low carb, high Protein, non dairy. Good Luck!
  18. Good Good news. Per the above, My info was submitted on 11/30, on the reviewers desk as of 12/6, approval by 12/7. !!! I waited until today to call.. I am so excited. I do not have a date of yet but the hard part, well ONE of the hard parts is over. I am sure the the anticipation of my surgery day will be a tough road. lol... Congrats to all.
  19. gold- I do not have a date yet. I just have the "dummy" date that Aetna gave me which is Jan 28th. If it is in January, I would be too ecstatic. My Birthday is Jan 3 so that is an awesome birthday present.
  20. Well Ladies, Thank you all for your fingers and toes that were crossed for me. My family sent prayers and well wishes as well. I called Aetna this morning and guess what?!?!?!?!?! I AM APPROVED for Surgery! I submitted on 11/30 and was approved by 12/7 even though my file wasnt in hand until 12/6!.. 1 day turn around time. You cant beat that.. Good Luck to you all and I cant express in enough words how much your support means to me.
  21. Ladies i am proud to say.... IAM OFFICIALLY APPROVED! I called this morning just to get my case number and she said.. ohh. You have been authorized. No need to call anymore!
  22. I had to do the at home sleep study test. The one i used was a small.machine by respironics. There are 2 straps. One goes around the upper part of your torso and the other goes over top of your navel. There are 2 wires that run from each band and connect to the machine which sits on the first mentioned band on your chest. Lastly there is a cannula (apparatus for the nose, i.e., oxygen patients) that hooks into the machine , also a small mic that hangs from your head (very small). Its sounds complicated but it isnt. The only thing i hated was that i had to sleep on my back as the machine rests on your chest. You push the kn button when you are on your way to sleep and push to cut it off in the morn when you wake up. Take it back to the doctors the next day and walahhh!!!! Your done. Insurance paid for mine. Hope this helps!
  23. Congrats to you ma'am!
  24. You are doing great. That 50+ lbs since you first started. Looking good! Keep up the good work!!!!!
