I've waited so long to be able to make a post saying that I was approved, and that day is FINALLY here lol...The insurance company called me this morning and told me that I was approved for surgery, and that they faxed the letter over to my surgeons office :-) I waited ALL day for the surgeons office to call me to schedule my date, and I've heard nothing! I called the insurance coordinator and left a message, but i'm just confused as to why they wouldn't call me as soon as they received the approval. Has anyone had this same situation? If so, how long did it take for the surgeons office to call you and schedule a date? Thanks!

congrats on your approval. i too was notified that I was approved today. My surgeons office has yet to call, but given that his assistant is probably pissed that i got approved with her negative self, she will wait as long as she can. She is the one who told me that I would not get approved as she has tried to send in approval for a 3 month multi disciplinary program and the insurance told her no. I think she just tries to get her surgeon more bill time un beknownst to him.

Any who.. enough venting. Just be calm, I am sure they will call you befofe the week is out to schedule. Are you hoping to have your surgery this year or next year?

I am hoping to be sleeved in January. My surgeon all but told me December does not look promising. Good thing Is, i will exhaust my out of pocket expenses for the year, so all other dr's appts will be covered 100%! I do hope they get you in in time to have your surgery before the end of the year. On the brightside, if they dont, we can be surgery buddies!

My fingers are crossed for you

Well, I called my surgeon's office directly before mine was scheduled. I was advised that they had clinic that day, and do all calls on days when they are not in clinic. Hopefully you will hear from them soon

Congrats ladies! In my case the bariatric coordinator at the hospital called me & told me that I was approved. However then said someone will call you back to schedule. It took almost 3 wks before they called me and I did call her during & she promised they didn't forget me but the scheduling for the OR in the hospital as well. I was also delayed due to super storm Sandy so those who had to be rescheduled. I finally got that call, got that date which was about a month. It came so fast and now I'm 4 days post op. I still can't believe that part of the journey is over just waiting was just filled with anxiety. So hold tight ladies it's going to happen very soon & well wishes to you both again congrats!!

Congrats on your approval!! :D Just give your surgeons office a little bit of time, 3 or 4 days should be long enough, but I too am very impatient, thats about as long as I could wait.....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
