  1. No Fear! I was Banded June 27th and I was nervous at first but everything went by so fast! I had surgery at 7:30 that morning and was home by 3pm the same day and that's with hour and a half travel time from the hospital! I was sore but the thing that hurt me the most was my throat from the tube that was used during the procedure. I slept a lot! I am now on week 4 and I am doing quite well! Don't worry all will be find and Congrats to you all for making a major change to better health!

  2. That is totally awesome! I get my first fill on July 31st and I too am down 22 pounds since preop-diet and post op surgery. I am really excited and glad to know that it was not painful! I think that has been my biggest concern about all of this, whether or not I can tolerate the fills! Well I will know in another week. Best of luck to you! :)

  3. Hello all, My name is LaNetra but I will go by BandedSweety96 here in our world! I am from Texas, born and raised! I am looking for any Texas bandits and would love to start a Texas based community. I am now 18 days post op! I am finally starting to feel like my old self again! I am waking up with little to NO back pain! I cam walk my mile Briskly, with basically no knee pain. At first, the first couple of weeks I was thinking I had made a mistake with having the surgery but now that I am slowly starting to eat normal food again and I am able to determine how much Protein and Water my body needs I am starting to get a balance. I still have some tenderness around my port and when I drink cold water I get a tight pain near my stomach area. But I am learning...and the journey so far has been fun! I am down 1 dress size in the first month and I haven't had a fill yet! I want to take it slow so that I can tone and keep everything tight!

Best of Luck to you all!

    God Bless

  4. I had the same response yesterday when I tried to eat scrambled eggs. I had a very sore tight feeling around my band. This just lets me know that scrambled eggs are no longer my friends...I will have to find another way to eat them that I can tolerate and like. Best of luck to you!

  5. I was very nervous when I went into surgery but it was more about just having a surgery....Those people that have the band and it didn't work its because they wanted a quick fix or probably thought that it would work over night! The band is a TOOL not a Cure! You have to follow the guidelines and be ready to work toward your weightloss!!! Remember that the surgery is to help with the eating part you have to do the work to get the weight off! Best of luck!

  6. @Lannae Thank you so much! My husband, my friend that is banded and that referred my to her doctor and a coworker of mine that is on the fence about having the procedure are the only ones that know that i have been banded. It has been hard to going to family functions this summer and know that I can not currently eat. Everything we do in my extended family is surrounded with FOOD! I don't want to be nonsocial but lately I have been just to help myself heal. I think I moved too fast on changing from liquids to soft so I hope I haven't damaged anything...but over all I am feeling better since surgery. I do need to get a better work out routine I am starting the couch 2 5K slowly. :)

  7. Hello All,

My name is BandedSweety96 and I am 10 days Post-op Allergan Lapband. My doctor is Dr. John Marsden and I had my procedure done at Baylor Plano. I am currently struggling with eating and determining what are hunger pains or just healing pains from the band. I have lost 16 pounds total since I have started this journey. My current weight is 232 and my goal weight is 175. I am dealing with a lot of gas bubbles and discomfort. If anyone has any suggestions or helpful comments please feel free to comment.
