I will consider myself lucky. I sleep pretty darn good.

Make that January 2013 Sleevers.

Hi Ken. It's ok. They were just photos of my glued incisions. Not important at all. They are posted under the January Sleevers 2013 thread.

Go to profile and do ticket. I can't find it on my iPhone though
I don't have a ticker option on my profile page. Weird.

I just added a Before pic to the My Photos section' date=' but for some reason, it shows sideways even though it was not taken sideways and shows the right way on my computer (not through VST). I was hoping to find a way to delete it, or even better, a way to rotate it, but these do not seem to be options. Can someone help with this?[/quote']Same thing just happened to me. Very weird.

Feeling tire today' date=' 4 days post op.but better than the 1st day.[/quote']
I'm glad you are feeling better. My incisions are held closed by glue! No stitches and no staples. I'm sure that is why mine don't hurt as much as many on here. I will post a few photos of my glued incisions so you can see the difference. Feel better! My surgery was Monday and I feel pretty darn good today.

hey guys' date=' i was sleeved two days ago and got discharged from the hospital today. I feel like 2 days wasn't enough??? anyone get discharged within 2 business day? my stomach hurts. a lot. lot of gas but feel like i can't pass it. urine was dark but now returning to normal color. I had two stools that were really dark brown almost light black. how long do we have to worry about blood clots? i am trying to move as often as possible. i am just worried about when i go to bed and sleep. should i be worried? i had 6 incisions but i feel like only 2-3 hurt. tomorrow is my first full day home. what can i expect?? can i start my Vitamins? i was told yes. what else can i start? can i drink ensure tomorrow or my Vitamin Water zero ?? please any additional help is greatly appreciated. my wife and i have a 10 month old baby at home with us and one on the way so sleep hasn't been our friend. i feel so bad for my wife that she has to do everything. what a time to go out.btw i can't distinguish pain from gas and pain from surgery sometimes i feel like i want to vomit. please help me.[/quote']
I was sleeved a day before you! I was also discharged the following day around 6 pm. I have been fine other than some gas. My incisions aren't hurting too much at all. What did your doctor use on your incisions? Mine are glued and it has been awesome. I too have had pain from gas but am burping and farting like crazy. I only take the liquid pain med prior to bedtime so I can sleep. Sleep is SO important during recovery. Sip as much as you can because the last thing you want is to be dehydrated. Being dehydrated will just make you feel worse. If you can keep them down you should be able to start your Vitamins, but I wouldn't worry about those right away unless you are sure you can keep your liquids down. Just some rookie advice from a fellow "new" sleever.

You look fantastic! I can only I,alone how that must feel as I was just sleeved on Monday! Congratulations on all your hard work and putting your tool to good use. I would have a constant smile on my face!

I was sleeved on the 28th and the only dry heaving I had was minimal and from anesthesia. That does not sound normal to me at all. I have been drinking Water non stop since I passed my leak test with no issues. I believe you should call your doctor immediately. With that being said, do you think maybe it might be from the remnants of the anesthesia?

Woke up this morning feeling much, much better. ( and I didn't feel horrible to begin with ). I am amazed at the difference. I have only taken 1/2 dose of pain medication both nights before bed so I was sure to sleep comfortably. My gas is subsiding. Who would have thought I would be so excited to burp and fart? Lmao! But when I fart or burp I sure feel good. I was able to drink some Protein drink this morning and Water as well.
I will certainly keep everyone updated. I hope my posts are helpful to someone. :-)

I'm a gulper when I drink. This was the thing that had me the most worried prior to surgery. I have been very careful for the last two days to only take very small sips. But boy I sure wish I could gulp some Water right now. And so thirsty! :-)

I was just sleeved on Monday at 10 AM. When I did my leak test they made me take for big gulps of that yucky stuff. Why now can I only take very small sips of Water? I guess I'm more curious than anything. Thanks everyone.

Well ladies and gentlemen I had my surgery Monday morning at 10 AM. Monday was most certainly a blur as i was on pain medication and in and out of sleep most of the day and night. I was pretty nauseous from the anesthesia, Otherwise I wasn't in that much pain.
The gas does suck but it's not killing me as most people have felt. Tuesday I got up and walked around a lot and went to the bathroom a lot. I had my x-ray and my leak test late morning time. The results of those did not come back until late afternoon. I passed everything with flying colors. My nurses were fantastic the entire time I was there and I was very grateful that the day nurse I had actually had this done back in October. She was instrumental in letting me know how I was going to feel.
I was released last night from hospital around 6 PM and was driven home by my mother. My husband made sure to get my pain medication my gas medication filled last night right away. Around midnight I did take some liquid hydrocodone to help me sleep. I have not taken any pain medicine since.
I am not having any problems sleeping on my side like a lot of people had indicated they did. I really can lay anyway I want pretty comfortably. I walked a lot today and showered. I have been constantly drinking Water with a little bit of Protein shake in between without any issues.
Right now I'm looking forward to having all the anesthesia out of my system so I can feel a bit better. My incision sites are not bothering me and nothing really hurts enough to put me to tears. Over all I would say this has been fairly easy in comparison to some of the stories that I have read in this forum.
I look forward to getting better and better each day and starting this journey. My pangs I am feeling right now are either hunger or gas I'm not sure but probably gas. Good luck to all the new people who've just been through surgery and good luck to all the people who are about to go through surgery. Have a positive attitude and it will all be good.

Are you only have Protein shakes? My surgery is scheduled for Feb 14 and I start my liquids on the 1st. My Dr's office sent me the diet and it has Chichen soup' date=' strained but at least the liquid. My fear is doing the liquids for so many days and the boredom.[/quote']I can have certain Protein Shakes, 97-98% fat free cream Soups, sugar free Jello, pudding and Popsicles, Vitamin Water, sobe Water Decaf coffee and tea. There are a few other things too that I can't remember because I didn't like them. It really hasn't been that hard. I had two instances this week where I almost let my head hunger get the best of me but I overcame it. After a few days my stomach didn't even growl anymore. Keep your chin up, have a great attitude and it will be a breeze. Post to me if you need some kind words during the process and good luck! :-)

Anyway wish me luck
My surgery is Monday as well! I'm so excited and ready to get this done. Our journey is just beginning! Good luck and I will see you on the other side. :-)

Just an update for those who are going to be going on their pre-op liquid diet. I'm three days in and doing good. Besides a few hunger pangs I feel normal. A little tired but otherwise fine. Don't stress, keep your head up and move forward!
-
2nd day of liquids done. It was easy today until dinner time while my family ate pizza. But I got through and I will have one more Protein Shake a little later. I have to admit, this has been WAY easier than I thought it would be. This is only the 2nd day, but I have to figure it will be fine from here on out. :-)

What's your insurance companies nameMy insurance company is Cigna.

Well, I got my first day of liquids done and I didn't feel bad at all. Tomorrow should be interesting. I'm sure I will be ravenous by then. If I'm lucky the rest of the days will hopefully be this easy.

Tomorrow I start my one week of liquids and I have to say this is stressing me out more than the surgery itself! I work two jobs plus have a family. I can't imagine how I might feel and the thought of liquids only while still having to work and do all my normal things is freaking me out!
