Okey dokey.....I see my confusion! So is one of these larger????? People always talk about one....

I Am due to go in tomorrow and need to buy a few things for the hotel (outpatient) and the weekend. I keep reading different things about the incision...being at the waist band, bra line, etc. for a straight lap sleeve (no revision from a band) where is the incision? And yes I could watch a video but they creep me out lol. .

I was told six months to a year. It varies and each persons reaction does as well. If you do a search here you'll see many people are able to drink some carbonated beverage at some point. For me, my focus is champagne. The doc told me at least six months and then see how it feels. But again....it's all in moderation.

M packing my bags today for Thursday (ok one bag and special water...drugs etc). I also have to write a just in case letter to my son...which is making me cry just thinking about it lol so I don't know how I'll do it. Best luck to all who are this week!

That answer is different for everyone. When physically can you try? Depends on the doc but for me that would be after five weeks. When will it agree with your body? That might be five weeks or six months. It varies. I'd love to say that on September 7 you will be able to eat xyz....but that's now a real answer, even if it's what you want to hear .

I would wait to tell her until you are nearly at your date...ie mom on Thursday I'm going in for surgery, but if you care for her at all do tell her. While its rare, this is major surgery and anyone of us has a chance of dying on the table. To not have told my mother that and have her find out...that would be cruel. I only say this because while I can tell she exasperates you, I also heard in your words about your sister that her being hurt bothered you.

My doc says the same, everything in moderation. But no coffee during healing.

Mine was (still is...the 23rd is my day) easy. Just keep under 40 carbs daily. So I just eat steak and drink wine all day . ok not really, bt I am enjoying that I can have a glass of wine or two prior to surgery. Dh was funny. He said early on that he was going to quit drinking while I was after surgery. So he goes to the pre surgery appt and hears the doc say that it's three months minimum ut for best weight loss six. When we left dh said he was going to do the first two weeks with me lol. I don't think he realized how long it would be heh heh

The reason my doc requires two methods is that during the first few months of recovery you don't want to get pregnant because it is difficult to get enough. Nutrition to the baby early on. Both mom and baby can be at risk then. Further out its no biggie.

My doc requires all menstrating women to be on two forms of birth control because of the issues with the pill after wls. I opted out because we just spent two years doing ivf and for me to get pregnant it would take a lot more than a skinny tummy!

Yes, though I know some nuts say don't ever drink...but I for one wouldnt have considered the sleeve if I could never drink again. My nut says no wine while healing for four months. The docs nurse says six and the doc says three but advises that you avoid it during the most rapid weight loss period because it's high calorie.

Actually many doctors require it as well. I'm self pay and had to have one just as all of my doctors patients do. That said, of course I wasn't honest. I wasn't going to go into abuse as a child etc because that isn't my problem and I don't want to talk to a stranger about it.

I'm almost jealous of the hospital gowns lol. My surgery is out patient so I have to get dressed afterwards and go to a hotel near the surgery center. I hadn't thought about a sun dress. Thanks! I was going to go out and buy sweats lol. Mine are all paint stained.

Lol I wish I had a jet . But yes, that look is probably the one I could come closest to on my own. I'm fairly good at costume makeup and while I won't be as fab as yours, I could at least imitate it somewhat decently to the eyes of a bunch of amatuers tonight lol.

Since you are likely not local....would you consider giving me a couple of hints on the rainbow eye? I'll go buy some make up but I'm wondering if you are using a liquid color or powder (seems like with powder I wouldn't get that debth of tone). And then again a liquid liner? And is the sparkle sheen built into the color or are you adding that on top? Do you then spray with a make up fixative (like they use on stage...I have that here) or does it hold for a few hours under light wear (just a party, not the opera lol). And if you want to reply that you don't share those hints my dear...I will not be offended in the least! I totally understand!

Lol honey for work like that I'd be happy to pay. Now tell me the good news......you live within a reasonable drive of port Townsend aw....cuz the party is at six.....heh heh. (lol and if you do I'm really not kidding!). That rainbow eye is perfect, though the overly (ok lol for regular wear) eye in your first post screams early 70s to me as well!

So there is the great difference between docs plans. I can NOT have cream soups as I am far too limited by my carb requirements to even touch the stuff and yet as I type this I am just finishing a lovely glass of Pinot noir. I'm totally on plan as I'm sure the butter man has been as well. Follow your doctors plan!

This is nuts...FOLLOW YOUR DOCTORS PLAN! There is no need to guess and all docs are different. Just do what your doctor asked you to do. Starvation actually will backfire on you!

You shouldn't be having this problem and it could be a sign of a bigger issue. My dic said to call if you have nausea over 24 hours and get seen immediately. Call your doctor!
