    Anyone Here In Washington?

My first surgery was 8/23 and the second late sept/early October (lol I honestly don't know!). So six or five months out here .
  3. I was having my second surgery at that time. I guess my perspective is that to leave the country during the highest risk period would be iffy at best, not to mention a pain because of lifting and activity restrictions as well as food issues. I'd push it to two months minimum when you are off of most restrictions and are likely feeling more normal. It's a trip of a lifetime you should enjoy to it's fullest. A couple of weeks makes a huge difference post surgery.
  4. I think six weeks out is likely to be a bit tight. I'd chat with your surgeon as well. That's still a hard time for many folks and if you are on purees or soft foods it might be hard to find enough to eat.

    Leak?

Just wanted to say I was thinking of you dear.

    drinking while eating

My surgeon allows it with meals but with a max amount of less than four ounces and prefers closer to two. It hasn't hurt my losses.
  7. ART or IVF is very hard on your body and not something you can do while on a highly restrictive diet, not to mention while recovering from surgery. Getting your hormone levels straight alone would be impossible, making the ART a total waste of money. At 46 your chances of success are not great...you likely know this, but if you are to be successful time is of the essence. Each year your chances go down exponentially. If you want to get pregnant you must do that first. You couldn't even take the meds necessary for ART or IVF after surgery. It's really a no brainer (ok for me cuz I've done both). You have no option but to do the ART first then when you are either successful or you chose to quit trying you can move to VSG. in the mean time you can look to trying a six month weight loss period or diet. That you can do easily while also doing ART. I wish you the best. I know that both are hard roads to travel.

    The great thread killer......

No thread is complete without a Nazi reference, possibly a bit of God thrown in and because it's VSG we should toss a pizza in there as well. NOW the thread can die
  10. Oh and the other thing I was just thinking of...a wedding alteration shop can maybe only go down a couple of sizes because they do BASIC alterations. But a quality seemstress or tailor can alter a larger garment down to a size zero if necessary. They have to basically rebuild it, reshaping all seems, but they can do this. I had it done to a suit that I just loved years ago. I had spent a great deal on it for a job interview that was going to make me a VP (I'm now VP of toilets and laundry...what a waste LOL). I got the job and wore the suit often. It was about a 12, but lost a bunch of weight and took it to a seemstress who rebuilt it for me to a size 4/6 approximately (tailored it to my body exactly). She had to redo the lining etc, but it was like having a new suit and it cost maybe $125 or $150...far less than that silly suit did If the dress is grossly big than you could take it from the bridal shop (they just redo outside seems and don't do any work on the inner tailoring) and take it to a really good place to have it fit correctly to your new body.

    Leak?

Sannah I've been absent much because of other crazies in my life (nothing bad, just lots of travel and lots of kiddo stuff). But I have been reading. I'm so sorry to read that this development has happened, and sorrier still to learn that you've been kept in the dark. Even my first surgeon, who was horribly wrong about my condition didn't lie to me (and I see keeping that type of information as a lie at the very least). Honestly, your first is a malpractice example if there ever was one! Why lead you on that you have spine issues for gads sake? It makes me want to punch someone But I want to spend time on something really important....eating darling, eating! I know you've had the doctor's lectures and don't want another but I'm here across the internet and you can't stop me I know that fear honey. I know it SO WELL!!! While neither of us caused our leak with food we all know that can happen and after going through what we did, obviously we want to avoid that hell with every fiber of our being! I still don't eat salad, hard vegies or fruit with skins because I'm not allowed...but I will be in a few weeks and gad Sannah, I KNOW i'm past worry about a new leak and I'm not sure I want to advance my diet either! I know I can't have much because I've discovered my new long term complication of stomach size (it's way too small so a balanced diet is likely not ever going to happen for me) but I also know, having had this fear before, that I have to at least start when they tell me to because...well it's kind of like falling off a horse. If we don't get back on we'll be on koolaide and popsicles for life! With your condition maintaining as normal a diet as possible is really valuable hun. You need strength and energy, even just a little to fight the pain and suffering you're dealing with is better than nothing. I know you have fear. I did too, but start slowly and make it a goal to add something to your diet on a daily basis. Make it easy stuff, have a french fry, a cracker with butter, anything with texture, and advance on that bite by bite. Your leak is healed now and your doctor isn't trying to kill you (OK maybe not this one anyhoo). Start slowly and have just a tiny bit so you can show yourself it won't cause you a leak. If you want to be super conservative, do what my doc told me to do...no hard vegies and skinned fruit for six months (from the date of the repair surgery). But do advance honey. It's important and scary and necessary. While I was scared to death, I have to say that when I got a bit of normalcy back into my diet, I started to feel better. It seems odd, but it's just somehow comfortable to have one normal thing in your life, especially when you have so much else you can't control. Really Try honey. And call me in a few weeks and we'll share a carrot over the phone LOL

How Do I Delete My Profile?

LMAO he's far too hot for me Or I'm far too hot for him I thought it was you and the aussie cop
  14. I think I'd shoot for the 16/18 as laura mentioned. I went from a size 18 to a 6 in 4 1/2 months but you have a bit more to goal than me. If you went with a 16 you'd have room to alter either way safely. Or you can have one of my old dresses

How Do I Delete My Profile?

Well we have to chat here...they're all having a little org y in there
  16. And just to be clear...that's why I asked if she had them since the surgery. They're more concerning if they come on a few days later than if they're there all along, especially as you say, getting better as time goes on
