  1. I was sleeved on July 11th... down 34 pounds so far. I try to exercise at least 4 days a week but it's sometimes hard with kids, work, etc. I thought I would be losing faster than I am, I seem to be losing about 2.5lbs per week. But then again, how many people can say they lost 34lbs in less than 2 months! Hoping to be at my goal by the end of the year! Good luck to all of you and keep up the good work! :)

  2. He said it was preventative, not standard for him.I have had 5 c- sections and an abdominal surgery when I was a teenager so I have had extensive previous abdominal surgery. I found my favorite broth is kiddy corner across the street from the hotel at a terracota colored restraunt that's name is eluding me right now. Heading out again now, last night for me in Mexico.

I had surgery with Dr. Kelly on July 11th and was thrilled with the whole experience. One of the most memorable parts of my trip was the broth at that restaurant. It was amazing! I've seen references on VST calling it "Magical Mexican Broth"... LOL! They will deliver it to the hotel too!

  3. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my surgery and I've already had a one week stall. I just kept eating and drinking as the doctor ordered and have lost 4lbs in the last week. I believe that as long we keep doing the right things, the weight has to come off. The other thing I keep hearing is to take your measurements, it helps to see those numbers go down even when the scale doesn't budge. Good luck to you! :)

  4. Hi Paulie -

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed reading your story!

I just got home yesterday, sleeved on July 11th. I was extremely pleased with my experience and can't say enough good things about Dr. Kelly, OMAR and Cecy. I already miss Omar! He is the greatest! I can't believe how much time and attention he gives to the patients. Dr. Kelly too! How many doctors take their patients out to dinner??? I'm so glad I did this!

Look forward to updates from you!

    Tammy

  5. Hi StillLooking -

I probably took more than I needed...

Be sure you use a rolling suitcase(s)! Also, get GasX strips. I couldn't find these at Target but found at the grocery store and I'm still using them.

I brought a robe for the hospital but ended up wearing two gowns which seemed easier. Just put the second one on backwards like a robe. Some people wear their own gown in the hospital, up to you. As far as anything I wish I'd taken, maybe more hair products, between the humidity by the beach and laying in the hospital bed, my hair was a mess! You may not have the same issue...

After the swallow test we were out alot. Out to dinner, shopping and sitting out by the pool so add sunscreen to your list. You will be amazed at how good you feel, especially once you get back into your own clothes. Be sure everything is loose fitting or has low waistbands. My incisions are just above so no real trouble with that.

Congrats on your decision to get the surgery! You'll be so happy once it's done!

  6. I was sleeved with Dr. Kelly in Mexico on July 11th. Everything went well and I am very pleased with my experience. Dr. Kelly was wonderful, super friendly, answered any and all questions. And then there's Omar... I cannot say enough good things about him. He is phenomenal! He was there whenever I needed him and even when I didn't. Everything was arranged - from picking me up in the US, bringing me to the hospital, to the hotel, to dinner (broth only but the best broth ever!), shopping... Omar took care of it. I wonder if he ever sleeps?

Anyway, I'm a little sore today after the train ride from San Diego to Los Angeles but overall I feel great. I am so happy with my decision to go to Mexico and have surgery with Dr. Kelly.
