Plenty of people have gotten very sick and ended up in the hospital from eating the wrong foods too quickly.
I'm glad that YOUR doc has laid out a plan that works well for YOU. However, attempting to debunk other members opinions (which they formed from their doc's), by simply offering a different opinion (based off of what your doc told you), really doesn't work. Until some long term studies have been completed, we are all really guessing.
Pick a doc you are comfortable with and follow their rules.

Agreed. Make exercise fun and stop paying other people to do manual labor, it is very rewarding. Last week I dug out two monster tree stumps that previously would have cost hundreds to have someone come take care of. The sense of accomplishment when I was done was great. I'm all about human horsepower, rather than gas these days. Sold my beloved bass boat and bought an awesome kayak to fish from. I can't begin to tell how much fun that is, with a great workout to boot.

Only time I recall feeling sick post-op was after drinking a banana muscle milk two weeks ago. Who knows why, but I won't be going back for anymore of that.

Have the "right" foods on hand at all times, ready to eat, simple, etc. You can do it. You went through too much to graze on bad foods.

I don't agree. I have auto-immune issues with pain. The surgeon needed to know so he could help keep any pain from flares under control. Also, many insurance companies approve faster and w/o making you jump thru as many hoops if you have what's called a comorbtality. (I didn't spell that correctly.) But basically a disease that weight loss would improve from.
Also, it's just not safe for you to go under the knife and your care team not know everything about your health.
Good luck!
Wow.. couldn't agree more. None of us woke up over weight and the surgery is going to take a while to get approved, scheduled, etc and then it still takes a while and lots of work for the weight to come off. You should definitely be telling your doc everything.

As you can see, nobody (myself included) knows what they are talking about.
Your best bet is to ask your doc for his/her guidelines on the matter.

Has anyone gone back to liquids/shakes only, in an attempt to break a stall or pick up the speed of ur loss? If so, outcome?
My stats are below... last 6 weeks have been brutally slow and feel like I'm sitting still at a critical time. I am getting plenty of exercise and eating right, tons of Water, just wondering about shaking up (pun intended) my diet a little more.

I never found a single solid food that was edible when pureed. Can's of hormell turkey chili (no beans) were a staple of mine. Magic Bullet saved my but thru many stages.

I showered the next day. I had staples, not sure what your doc uses. I didn't touch the incisions for 10days until the staples were removed. I pretty much rubbed the bar of soap (antibacterial) on my gut just above the incisions and lets the real soapy Water slowly coast over the wounds. Rinse well, air dry.

Just my opinion, but I strongly believe that if you start exercising pre-op, it will make for an easier post-op recovery. You need to be up and walking hours after your surgery and then as part if your daily routine going forward. I didn't want my body to get its first dose of exercise fresh out of surgery or when my only nutrition was coming from Clear liquids etc. I truly believe this played a big part in my super easy recovery.

You wanted the Cookies, but you didn't eat them... You don't want to go to the gym, but you do... Your 2yr old wants to share his food, get creative and pretend to eat it, they are easily fooled... Sounds like you should be celebrating these as victories and sign's of strength, that previously you would have caved in for.

Repeat of the above replies... Your sleeve size doesn't make you lose weight, portion size, food choices and exercise do. Of course, this is easier said than done and if I could have done this without surgery, well I wouldn't be here today. Good luck.
