  1. :-x staying quiet on the recent Chick Fil A controversy. I think if there is any chance at a convenience store, supermarket, bodega, vegetable market, you can find greek yogurt, cheese stick, muscle milk, even gerber graduates meat sticks..has to be better than any fast food.
  2. Thanks for the tips. i have an attic full of clothes i have not been able to wear in years. jeans, sweaters, shorts. stuff that doesn't really go out of style. maybe I will look through. i have a picture from about 8 years ago, after Atkins for 2 years. this is my goal,
  3. I have 4 weeks before my surgeon can submit to my insurance for approval. Ever since I made the decision to do this, everyday that goes by I get more anxious for it to happen. I never hated the way I looked as much as I hate it now. I read all these wonderful stories of incredible weight loss and self discipline, and I all do is think of what I will miss, so I can eat it...gaining more weight. I don't know if lurking around these boards is encouraging or anxiety producing. I have gotten so much good info here, i am so excited to start my journey, but my inpatience is getting the best of me making me feel so down in the dumps. Help?
  4. Awesome post. Not yet sleeved, but the reality of failing the sleeve is real. I dont ever want to go down that road!
  5. All good suggestions. My two cents: who cares what people think? No explanations necessary. If they ask, I'll go with "i don't have much of an appetite".
  6. What does your surgeon say?
  7. Fyi, i was told by my nutritionist not to take viactiv or any calcium gluconate. The only good calcium is Calcium citrate.
  8. Wow fabulous! Hoping i can get back to running after weight loss surgery.
  9. If you are self pay, I guess it's up to your surgeon. For insurance, it usually has to be at LEAST 35 with at LEAST one comorbidity (HTN, Diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol) or 40 with no comorbidity.
  10. Awesome! Love sturgis, SD And wyoming(devils Tower). My son os Brule Sioux from The Black Hills
  11. It's true. Many surgeons have very poor bedside manner. They may be amazing with a scalpel, but terrible at human relationships, which is why they l,ike their patient's asleep. Believe me, as an RN of 33 years, I have seen and delt with a lot of surgeons. NOT ALL are like this, but certainly, many are. Take what he/she said with a grain of salt and chalk up their insensistivity, to their own social awkwardness. The incisions with likely hurt to some degree, but how many of us actually know what being stabbed 5 times feels like?
  12. Former New Mexican here (las Cruces). Good luck you all!

A fellow camper!! I have a 27 ft trailer. Just got back from 2 weeks in Cape Cod. Can't wait to be able to fit around my "walk around bed" without having my butt stick out half way into the bathroom.
  14. I was wondering how people would get approved so quickly. My insurance wants all requirement met before approval and my surgeon will only schedule the date after the approval is in. I have seen how some surgeons will schedule before the actual approval. My surgeon's wait is 3-4 weeks after approval. Hoping for early Oct.
  15. I am not yet scheduled, but my patient advocate (us doctor) told me 3 to 4 weeks to schedule the actual surgery. You get your preop appt in 1-2 weeks
  16. If you look down on the lower right hand corner of the ad, you will see the number for the low cost fellow clinic.
  17. The clinic mentioned above is word of mouth, not advertised.
  18. That is for the post fellow docs. You have to ask for the plastics "clinic" on the 9th floor. Whole different fee base
  19. I heard it called "food funerals". Stuffing my face for sure...not good!
  20. I am so with you! My rear has it's own zip code! I won't missed being called a "big girl" by my 80 year old patients.
