Best decision of my life!
@@KellyJ1121 I have the same affliction and it has been a struggle for years. This is the best decision I ever made too. PCOS with insulin resistance has been an uphill battle but this surgery has helped me so very much and it has only been a month.

I'm Average?
Congrats on being average by the standards of this country. In my opinion I think that the BMI standards of this country are really antiquated and need to be updated due to body frame. I honestly wouldnt pay much mind to it anyhow though cause I think it should be based on how you feel about yourself and your healt above all. You are a great inspration and i cant wait to be where you are. Thanks for all of your insight.

A single doughnut almost broke me
@@snickysnack78 Please do not beat yourself up about this. I had food funerals before my surgery. I will tell you something though, After the surgery you will do something like that one time and learn your lesson. I wasnt terribly bad yesterday but I wanted Peanut Butter and grape jam so bad so i put it in a bowl and and ate it up. !0 mins later I was throwing up and had major cramps. I will not be doing that again. I dont even crave bread anymore or Pasta. I just wanted a PB&J and i paid the price for that. i had never experianced that so it was a first and a last for me. The phsycological part of this surgery is so hard to wrap my brain around. it is just the new normal.

Hair falling out/ loose skin?
http://www.hairfinder.com/hair4/anesthesia.htm I found a link regarding hair loss. I researched alot of things regarding hair loss because I am a little vain about my hair...lol. I know that I am going to lose some hair and have noticed daily little by little it is acting up. I was apprehensive about the idea of just the wls causing hairloss so I delved deeper to find out why this happens. Appearantly there is nothing you can do about it. If your follicle cells were affected by surgery there is really no amount of Protein or Biotin you consume that will prevent hair loss in your already exisiting hair. I know the protein and biotin will help with the regrowth but that is all it will do. It sucks but one good thing is that it is only temporary. Anyway, I just wanted to share.

Things men say when told about WLS :)
@@hadouni Wow! I wouldnt want to deal with that last guy at all. That was a huge red flag. Run the other way and dont look back. Dont be blinded by his looks either. He will end up treating you terribly just because he will degrade you and lower your self worth. I can see it in my crystal ball already.

Biggest surprise/regrets after surgery?
the biggest surprise so far for me is how quickly I healed and also the heart burn. Thank God for prilosec. I have yet to experiance regrets. I have wanted this more than anything. The hardest part for me right now is eating. I am like a baby learning how to eat again. I dont want food but i do at the same time. Love/hate relationship with food. I love watching people eat food....lol

Heard of LATE DUMPING SYNDROME?
Sounds like you needed protein really bad. My blood sugar drops really low when I dont eat enough protein. I dont have diabetes but I do have insulin resistance. I get very shaky and I have to lay down or I will tumble to the ground. Eat small meals with protein throughout the day and it will not happen again.

Not losing anything? ?
@@tnf0920 Just hang in there. Your body is in shock right now. Its wondering why you are not feeding it the normal things it is used to so the fat is sticking around trying to protect you from starving. Its just nature. You are a wonderfully made machine that will automatically try to protect itself. You cant have a talk with your body and expalin the game plan, It will do what it what is was built to do and eventually it will give up the fight. Dont let this discourage you let it inspire you.

Finally told someone & OMG, smh! :(
Firstly, I am sorry you are going through this alone right now. You are not really alone becasue you can come here anytime and get the support you need. I have seen many women on here that are just wonderful and amazing. Second, I would like to say your friend is truely misinformed and ignorant. She is not living your life for you and I have read about this surgery for years. I had the same concerns about the long term as everyone else so when I researched it i found that people have been getting there stomach cut out for many years due to other factors excluding weight loss, Such as stomach cancer. Those people have lived many many years happily and healthy with their stomach cut out. Your friend should have been supportive of you. This is your body and your life. Add me as a friend and send me messages anytime. I am always on here. You are not alone.

April 28th getting sleeved!
I feel hungry but I get full super fast. I can describe life now as the same but I feel better in my skin every day. It is so strange when I sit down to eat now cause I still think I am going to be able to eat a certain amount and then my stomach say "Um, NO!" lol. The first day is the hardest but it does get better. When you think of how bad you feel at first just remember it is the drugs they have you on. When i went home the second day I felt like myself again. Keep your head up and eye on the prize, Oh and by the way.....Congratulations!

My mother had weight loss surgery - Our relationnship?
I do not agree with anyone picking on anyone at all, Maybe you should tell your mother the she is making you feel attacked and uncomfortable and that you wished she was more comforting to you. That being said I need to speak to you about this other issue of blame. I gre up in a family that did not care what they ate either. We were never health conscience and I was always a lage child. I never in my wildest dreams thuoght to blame my partents. It is not their fault that they were ignorant to the causes of certain foods. I developed a metobolic disorder over time and that is why I made this decision for myself. I have struggled with my weight all of my life and never once did I blame anyone but myself. The best advice I can give is to take responsibility for yourself right now. You are in charge of you. Sure, When you were a kid what choice did you have? You ate what your parents gave you because you were not thinking about long term health issues because you were a child and I can almost bet your partents diddnt think about those issues either because they probably grew up thinking of food as a way to show love to you. There are many factors as to why they ate like that and fed you that way but I remember one day my Mom said to me "It's pretty bad when you wake up one morning and realize your parents are human". We all make mistakes but you are blaming your parents and wasting precious time being upset when you should be enjoying and loving them. If you let go of the past hurts you will be able to create a more fulfilling life for yourself.

Pee color and water intake
I agree with bufflehead. As far as the smell, You are super sensitive to smell right now. I had a rough time with smells. It was all off. It is normal now but man it was tough. i couldnt even stand the smell of my shampoo cause it smelled like mildew to me. Your pee smells the same as it always has it is just that you are experiancing a high sensitivity.

Excess skin?
That is so funny cause I was just talking to my mom this morning about this and I have my body weight distributed evenly on my body but i have come to the conclusion that I will have excess skin because i have been large all my life and there is nothing I can do about that. I have embraced it. I spoke to my Fiance about it and he said "Baby, Its the same skin I love now and will always love". I was worried about it too but when he put it to me like that I realized he is right. Its the same skin I have now and I should just be happy to have a longer more fullfilling life SKIN AND ALL! Love yourself no matter what you look like cause this isnt and shouldnt be about looks. This is about your life.

Who you gonna tell....Ghostbusters!
I tell everyone. I am proud of my decision and want the world to know. This isn't about them it's about LIFE. I want to live as long as possible. We did not get here without trying every diet and exercise program out there. This is a hard decision to make and it is something I embrace with 100% genuine excitment. If people don't like it they can kick rocks on down the road.
