  1. Every doctor is different. I've mentioned it before in other threads' date=' but my surgeon's plan is clear liquids for 4 weeks, the first week of which is just clear liquids, no Protein shakes, then puree for 2 weeks then soft foods for 2 more weeks. Finally, on week 9 I get to start "introducing" regular foods.[/quote']

Wow!! I've never heard of that!

  2. Congratulations on your loss!

I currently have the band and I am hoping to get a revision to the sleeve. I see you had the band as well. In your experiences and being 6 months out' date=' how do you compare the two? With the band I NEVER felt full...always hungry. And often I had that "stuck" feeling. Is it similar with the sleeve? I just want to feel full quicker!

    I'd love your thoughts. Thanks![/quote']

It's completely different. I never felt full either. I was always hungry. Now it's more normal. And it's not a struggle to get food down now. I just eat a bite or two and I'm good. Seriously best feeling ever.

  3. Hello I was sleeved 9 months ago..I have a small problem. I am very hungry after 6 pm I drink plenty of Water but I am still hungry..my weight loss has been good but I've notice it's slowed down. I spoke to my doctor and he said usually in the morning my stomach is tight but as the day goes on my stomach expands and I am able to fit more food. Any advise on how to keep hunger under control?

My doc said to eat when you're hungry and to stop when you're full. Maybe your body is needing something. Or maybe it's that mental hunger. Lol.

  4. I seriously can't believe it. I've gone from a size 20 to 14. I am so incredibly happy. I've gone through cravings and food phases. At the beginning it was Fruit! I was buying a watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple every week at the grocery store. Then it was goldfish. I seriously had to hide the goldfish from myself so I'd stop eating them. Lol. Eggs!! I'm in love with eggs right now! eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, fried egg. I have an egg every morning!

I was walking every night with my husband after dinner but haven't in a few weeks. I have a crazy work schedule. I have experienced that crazy sweating when I'm eating too fast though. Also I do still spit up when I eat one bite too many. Although it's a little different than spitting up with the lap band.

Overall I'm happy. I can't believe I've lost this much so fast!

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask me. I had the lap band before the sleeve and this forum really helped me pre op.

  5. Hey yall. It's day 4 post op including my surgery date. Today's the first day I've started feeling normal. I've been pretty out of it these past few days. I've started eating creamy Soups and that's helping a lot. My incisions arent hurting. Just my insides. Ive stopped taking my pain medicine every 4 hours cause i was tired of being high all the time. Im trying to take them at night. Ive been pretty depressed. And not to be graphic but my butthole is so raw from going poop every 30 minutes. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard.

  7. I am in Houston Texas! And I have no pre op diet at all. Lol.Lucky me I guess lol. I have my preop appointment tomorrow. I've bought gas x strips and some Soups and liquids. I just need to get some nightgowns. I was going to pack pjs but I saw on here that the elastic bothered some people so yeah I need to get some gowns. Other than that I'm excited. I'm starting to feel a little peaceful.

  8. Laying down in bed one night, 8 months ago, I decided right then and there, that the Lap Band wasn't working for me and it was time to take my life into my own hands. I'm going to be healthy, I'm going to be around for my children, I'm going to be happy with my weight for once in my life!!

And now!!!! It's happening!! It's almost here!! I can barely stand it!!

I can feel my nerves going up and back down again.

But I am ready! Words of encouragement and advice needed still though!

  9. Hi. I am one step away from sumitting all my information to BCBS and I am a nervous wreck. I have been reading so many stories of people being denied so' date=' I was wondering if anyone had any experiance with my insurance provider? Any and all comments welcome please I need HELP!!![/quote']

I've heard comments like oh you have bcbs? We should be able to get you approved. So.maybe bcbs is a good insurance with wls!

I have bcbs federal insurance. I had lap band in 2008 and they approved it within a week. I sent in to have the sleeve done and after 2 weeks they sent back saying they needed proof I had tried to lose weight with a dietician. I had that and sent it in. Took about a week and they approved it.

  11. I've been thinking about a revision for a long time now. I've spent soo much time here reading others success stories and some that had complications too. It's finally my turn to go in and meet with the doctor and I'm sick to my stomach thinking about it! I guess it's normal to be apprehensive about such a major surgery but I was not expecting this! If just the consult has me feeling like this I can't imagine how I will feel before surgery!

I have the lap band currently and im having the sleeve done March 4. When I'm nervous about something I think about the pros and cons and which outweighs the other.

I will Be in some pain. I will have to work my way up to eating regular food again. I will be out of work for 9 days.

I will have help losing weight!! I will finally be able to win this struggle I've had all my life!! I will feel amazing about myself. I will be able to.get pregnant without hormones and medicine.

I haven't been hearing a lot of good.things about the lap band. Rumors of a recall because like us so many people are not losing weight. Its not working. I was talking to my nutritionist the other day and she even said the lap band is like a torture device. You're hungry but you can't eat. I couldn't even eat Protein. It got to the point where all I could get down is Ice cream. I only lost about 30 pounds. Do not think of this as a failure! Think of.this experience that the sleeve will not be anywhere near as hard as the lap band is! We've had it the worst! Its been really hard! But you have decided that you are not.going to Be a victim to.your weight anymore! You are going to be triumphant!!
