  1. I have a goal:

I would like to do a triathlon sometime in the next few years. It is a goal my husband and I want to do together. As soon as he finishes school in the spring, we will be dedicating a lot of time to training.

I want to continue doing other races. In the last 2 1/2 months I have done a 12k and two 5k's. although, I am new to races and right now I just focus on finishing, not time :)

  2. My original surgeons coordinator was like that. It was like she was playing games with me.

I was self pay, so I took my business elsewhere.

Not so sure if I would have done that if my insurance had already approved everything, like in your case. I would do what someone else mentioned and contact the office manager.

She should not be allowed to treat you like that

  3. I was sleeved 8/14/12.

I am currently down almost 160 pounds. I have about 40 to go.

I eat between 3 and 4 total ounces per meal. And I eat 5 times a day (including snacks).

    I eat about 100 calories a day.

I do not eat much bread' date=' rice, or potatoes. If i do, its just a bite here or there. They just dont interest me anymore.

And I am sugar intolerant. A hinderance and a blessing all in one ;)

I cannot even begin to say how much my life has changed! Rode on the back of my husbands motorcycle on Friday, Ran a 5K on saturday and went to a theme park on Sunday! Things i could have never done. And thats just the past 3 days! lol[/quote']

That should have been "1000 calories a day", not 100! ;)

  4. That sounds great. Are you working with a PT that understands WLS?

To clarify, she understands wls, but I am pretty sure that I am her first client. So she is leaving the diet side of my health up to me.

Our biggest goal right now is building muscle.

In the past 2 months since working with her I lost 31 inches!

I am not a measuring girl, it didnt interest me when i had surgery last August. Now i kind of wish i would have!

  5. I am pretty sure that I am her first wls client.

Or at least, openly admitted wls client.

I am an unusual client for her as she normally focuses on diets also. But I had my diet under control already, and she is not familiar with our diets, so she is leaving me alone in that department ;) which i prefer! lol

Besides the diet, its business as usual. She kicks my butt!

  6. I never discussed a goal weight with my surgeon. My personal trainer and I decided on 150 about 2 months ago. I started in August at 356 so that will put me at losing 206 total. I am currently down 162 pounds.

Honestly, I just started to breathe easier once I got to "onederland". Before then, I was worried to set a goal ;)

  7. I've never had a "mortified" roller coaster experience. I just avoided them by saying I am scared of them.

But last summer (before surgery) I was at the public pool with my kids and this 12 year old punk kid said to one of his friends as I walked by "they shouldn't even let fat people in the pool, they are so gross!"

Talk about heartbreaking. I prayed my kids didnt hear it because I didnt want them to feel shame because of me.

  8. I have pretended to my husband and kids for the past 15 years that I am terrified of roller coasters. The truth is, I was too big.

    I had surgery last August.

Last month we went to the theme park and I went on every ride. I also went down all of the Water slides with my daughter. We had so much fun!

It was the best weekend of my life. I finally got to "Onederland", ran a 5K, rode on the back of my husbands motorcycle AND went on roller coasters!!!! Seriously love my sleeve!

  9. Thank you for the support!

I posted this 10 days ago and the day I posted it I rode on the back of my husbands motorcycle for the first time. Then the next day I ran a 5k. And then the next day I went to a theme park and rode roller coasters for the first time in 15 years!

My life is so much more fun now!

I cannot even express how thankful I am to have my sleeve!

From severely morbidly obese to doing all of those things=priceless!

  11. Different things bother different people.

If being called "fat" doesnt bother you, GREAT! Here's a cookie---a Protein packed, sugar free cookie, of course ;)

Some people get offended when people say surgery is the "easy way out".

It does not bother me one bit. Because again, their ignorance is no concern of mine.

Once I saw a post on here about someone couldnt stand the world "hubby". Again, that word doesn't bother me.

A little 12 year old prick saying that fat people are gross---yes, that does strike a nerve.

Unfortunately the word "fat" is mostly used in negative ways. And given how many regular everyday words have turned into negative words, i dont really see society changing it back to nothing more than a descriptive word. Though, wouldn't that be wonderful.

  12. Last summer at the public pool I overheard a kid tell his friend as I walked by "They shouldn't let fat people even in the pool....they are so gross". I was mortified! But thankful that my daughter didn't hear it. Ultimately, kids learn it somewhere, and their ignorant parents are not my concern, but that doesn't mean that it didnt hurt!
