  1. Lol I am reminiscing about my days in the hospital and that terrible left shoulder pain. I was telling anyone who came to visit to beat my shoulder. I was moaning and groaning and my sister said, "good thing you aren't being recorded." I did not care how it sounded be ause that was the best beating I ever had! Ooh yeah, ahhhhh, mmmmm, right there, harder, harder, faster, ahhhhh! Just having a post-op flashback! Lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. Me! My pain is to the right of my navel about 2-3 inches to the right. When I sit in my car the pain intensifies but when I stand or sit reclined I hardly feel it. Today makes 10 days post op. I have my post op appt on Tuesday. When I called the office they said give it some time you just had major surgery. My pain has not caused me to take pain meds but I have cried a little when I bend down. So now my daughter had to tied shoes Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. To be perfectly honest I can't wait until I start weight training although muscle weighs more than fat I would much rather have the weight of muscle than fat. Plus muscle is what's going to give me the shape and curves I desire...more definition. This will also help me to not focus so much on scale weight but on inches. When I had a personal trainer (in my late 20's) he taught me the benefits of weight training and my body looked amazing no dimples on my butt and no cottage cheese thighs lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. My days 1& 2 in the hospital were the same jell-o, Popsicles, broth, crystal lite, coffee. I think I may have sipped on something here and there but not enough to make a difference. It was difficult to consume anything. I do recall Day 3, discharge day I had 4oz of crystal lite Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. The risks were laid out to me clearly. Any surgery is a risk. When I started reading the risks that I had to sign off on with my Dr. my head dropped in my hands and my heart started beating rapidly. then I thought about all of the risks involved with me being morbidly obese. I took the risk of surgery and signed off on the paperwork...the fine print and all. I pray for all of us who have undergone the WLS that our bodies will heal and the weight will fall off and stay gone. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. 8 days I was cleared to begin thicker liquids today. I only had the broth. It was indeed a treat! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. Also if any of us loose 15-20 lbs plus in a 30 day period that itself is amazing. Let's not worry ourselves about daily weight loss but look at the big picture once a month. I know if I loose anymore this month it's a bonus. I lost 17 in June pre-op. I am already down 15 for July and the month just started. I am not weighing myself again until 7/28 one month post-op...the bigger/smaller picture lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
  8. I told the waiter "take this menu, bring me a bowl of Zuppa Toscano, no bread sticks, and a glass of Water.". The water was still there on the table when I left. Lol I got a to go box and brought the rest to my daughter. Not bad for $5.36. Pre-sleeve my bill would have been $20+. So thankful! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  9. OMG these 15 spoonfuls of Zuppa toscano broth from Olive Garden were divine!! I feel live I was in Soup broth heaven. I am satisfied Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. Is potato Soup minus the potatoes ok for thick liquids at 8 days post op? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  11. By the way, was sleeved 6/28 and will be 43 on 7/12. I have no regrets for the braces or the sleeve. Heck, what's wrong with wanting to be fine from head to toe? Lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
  12. I got braces at 42 in March after getting approved for the sleeve. I knew I wanted to transform from head to toe. My 15 yr old daughter and I both wear braces and I told her I would be wearing her clothes too lol she said Nnnnnnoooooo mom! Lol. Although I wouldn't be caught dead in 15 yr old's wardrobe. I am transforming mind, body and spirit. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Are there any special creams or ointments we can use to help blend our skin back? I know when I was pregnant I didn't have stretch marks because I used some special cream...too long ago to recall the name! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  14. This is going to be a awesome day! It is not only your surgery day and the beginning of a lifestyle change and the road to healthy living, it is my 43rd birthday. While you all are under anesthesia getting your new stomachs, I will be enjoying some mashed up green Beans from Luby's for Phase III of my post op diet. I can't wait! Yum yum I am longing for the 12th Good luck, guys!
  15. So today the dietician said I can have thicker liquids. Well I have been drinking the Bariatric Advantage Shakes and need some variety. What is a thicker liquid???? She said tomato soup and I can make my own as long as there are no chunks ...oh no protein there. I need some recipes because I want to enjoy the thicker liquids but what are they...where are they??? Can I purée my lentil soup. Arrrrgghhhhh
  16. I was sadden to find out during my dr. appt on Tuesday that I am now 5'3". I have shrank ( shrink, shrank, shrunk) since college. I was 5'5.5". I figure the many years of carrying over 300 lbs on these bones did it. Since I can't get the height back I can at least get the weight off to see 150-160 lbs so I can rock some 2 inch heels by the time I turn 45....I have 2 years! My heels for the past 5 years have been Nike walking shoes:(
  17. Just say no. Learn to love crystal light as a soda replacement
  18. Yes dear it is perfectly normal. I am one week out today and still bloated. I could start drinking my protein shakes until Day 4 and still trying to get in the water. It does get better and the gas should be a big relief. Some of us look forward to it lol
  19. Just mean folks everywhere! What is loosing weight the right way??? People need to be educated and our true friends would and should be supportive if us wanting to be healthier and get rid or prevent some of these ailments that are caused from obesity. My bestie was always 50 or so lbs lighter than me therefore deemed the "skinny" one. She talked about WLS back in 2008-2009 and I told her nooooo. Well June 1, 2009 I was by her side for her WLS. She was by my side June 28, 2012 for mine. We can not control the minds of others or try to convince them about our struggle with obsesity. If they ate not going to be supportive they will try to sabotage your progress and if the latter is the case, separate yourself from them for a minute. If they are a true friend their mindset will change . In the meantime Do You....keep loosing, keep living!
  20. I was reading some of the challenges and some wondering if their goals were realistic. For me I know I can loose 40 lbs in 8 weeks because 1. I am only 7 days post op as of today 2. I am heavier than many ladies here 3. The more you weigh you tend to loose more faster 4. I am competitive lol Now if I were 2-6 months post op I would not have such an ambitious goal. I long for the day to be in Onederland which I haven't seen since college in 1993 when I lived in Bally's Total Fitness. I saw 176. My goal to reach in 2 years is 150 somewhere I have never seen before. Good luck folks!
