  1. Glad your home an doing better. Sounds like its good you went in. I guess even if something doesn't seem serious it's good to follow up.
  2. Thanks everyone. I'm definitely forcing myself to walk, take deep breaths with my incentive spirometer, and get my fluid in.
  3. I think Sunday in Schaumburg will work, though it depends on how I feel, as I'm still pretty sore.
  4. Just got home from hospital. I'm still in a lot of pain. I just have to say.... So many of your comments had me well prepared.

  9. I can't believe the day has come. I am super excited. I must say the whole pre-op process has been torture. 15 day all liquid pre-op diet. Today I drank my bottle of magnesium citrate, washed with half a bottle of hibiclense, and just got done gargling and swishing half the bottle of listerine (holy hell my mouth is on fire). Tomorrow morning I will wash with the remaining hibiclense and gargle with the remaining listerine. I know all of this prep will be worth it in the long run. The skin is the first line of defense and it is best to be pro-active. They pushed my surgery from 7:30 am to 1:30 in the afternoon. I just want to get this over with and begin my new sleeved life. I am so ready. Thank you everyone for all of your support, I can't tell you all how grateful I am for discovering this group. Wish me luck and I'll see ya all on the other side.
  10. I'm the 30th too. So excited! Good luck
  11. Hi Amanda, I haven't lost much on my pre-op diet either. I wouldn't worry. I saw my surgeon last Tuesday and told him I've been following the diet to a T but only lost a few pounds. He did not seem concerned at all. I'm sure we will be fine. I hear ya though I keep having what if thoughts as it gets nearer and nearer. Hang in there!
  12. I have a UHC PPO choice plus plan. They covered with a BMI of 35 with 1 comorbid condition or BMI of 40 or higher. I would call your plan, they should tell you what the bariatric benefits are.
  13. Thanks everyone. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
  14. Hmm interesting my BMI is 42 so I guess it is pretty high
  15. Thanks Nicks mom :-). I'm getting nervous. As far as the pre-op diet ugghhh. Honestly it was hard for me. I only lost 11 pounds over the 14 days so far. It seems like it should be more after drinking only liquid. The Kane center tells their patients to use Bariatric Advantage. I thought the vanilla was sickenly sweet, but the give shake recipes that help. Example: 4oz of diet orange soda, mandarins oranges with the juice drained and 2 scoops of the protein powder blended with ice (was my fav). It's nice to hear from others in my area keep in touch.
  16. Is the abdominal surgical band something they provide in the hospital, or can this be purchased at the local pharmacy? Also I noticed some of you were in the hospital for 3 or more days. My surgeon said I would just be there overnight? Is this rare?
  17. I got chewable vits online at bariatric fusion. They are specifically for weight loss surgery patients. Bariatric advantage also offers a multi vit
