Hello I am 25 with a bmi of 41 with no real health problems, yet!! Do you think I will have a problem getting UHC to approve my sleeve??

It depends more on your employer than your insurance. I have UHC and it was an absolute exclusion. I had to pay out of pocket.

I have a UHC PPO choice plus plan. They covered with a BMI of 35 with 1 comorbid condition or BMI of 40 or higher. I would call your plan, they should tell you what the bariatric benefits are.

I have UHC and was dead set on getting a vertical sleeve. I researched it, was excited, and found out they don't cover any type of WLS unless it's RnY bypass. I've researched RnY and I'm now okay with getting it, but just check with UHC on their requirements and coverage. Every UHC plan is different.

The best way to figure out what your insurance will cover is to call the phone number on the back of your insurance card. Plans are different from employer to employer because the employers can choose to opt in or out of benefits. So some UHC policies will cover it, and some won't. Even the requirements for surgery approval can vary from plan to plan. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.
