Hi. I had my surgery Aug 8th and i thought i felt the same way about being hungry. Turns out i am really just bored. 46 years of food being equated to entertainment isnt easy to change. I am trying to find things o keep me occupied' date=' or else, i start thinking about food. I realize i am not physically hungry but mentally i want to eat. If anyone knows any good tips to prvent this i would love to hear them[/quote']I have the same issue...and I love to eat and watch TV. I find keeping my hands busy works (I.e crossword puzzles, sudoku, or crafting helps).

I must confess. I am usually sucked in by this show. I consider myself pro-Dr. Oz. He covers some interesting material. Just my opinion :-)

I am taking Bariatric Fusion chewable 2 x per day. They aren't bad and are specifically designed for the sleeve.

Wow you look awesome!

I was told if I take any long trips, or sit for more than 2 hours to get up and walk around every 2 hours to prevent blood clots as you are still in a healing process.

I just got the call - I'm Approved! Holy Crap I'm Approved! I'm trying to have this done the first week of September since my husband will be off of work that week and he can take care of our 5 year old. I have to pay for my 15 day pre-op meals and pick them up on Saturday and try to start the preop diet on Sat as well. Geeze what a rush. Maybe it will help me from being terribly scared but I doubt it. I know alot of people have written that they are scared that they may die from this and I try to remind myself that this is a good life changer. But as I sit here typing this' date=' tears are rolling down my face as the reality of this is hitting home...and hitting hard. I've read so much about the emotional side of this journey but, man it's already started. I feel scared, excited, anxiety-ridden, hopeful....[/quote']That is awesome congrats! Are you still going through The Kane Center. Just an FYI I had a great experience through Alexian Bro's. keep me posted :-)

Hey LawDiva... Were you able to get a group together?

I played varsity soccer through HS. We would not even touch a ball for the first month of practice, as it was run, run, jog, sprint, Indian run for 3 hours straight with some stretches sprinkled in.. With that being said I would breath in through my nose and out through my mouth at an even rate.

After reading this thread I discovered something interesting about myself.... Though I have no issue with looking in the mirror and calling myself fat, I just can't bring myself to use that word on someone else. I don't know it just makes me realize I should be nicer to myself.

I wish Jennifer Weiner would make it an actual series.[/quote']I did read that as well. It was good. If you like good in bed you will love Jemima J I guarantee. :-)

Most surgeons use 4 incisions for the sleeve procedure. The 1 incision procedure ( Aka spider method) is typically used on those with a shorter torso.

Thank you for your response. But' date=' actually, I asked my sleep apnea doctor about muscle weight vs. fat weight. He said it didn't make that much of a difference. And I've known plenty of bodybuilders with even 5% body fat who still have severe sleep apnea. The weight on your upper torso can still create a problem, especially if you have weak neck muscles like I do.
In the attached pic, I was at about 12% body fat and I was 215 pounds. This is obviously way above my goal weight.
It was just a thought. Besides, you have to consume tons of Protein and calories to get back up to the size I was and I doubt that's going to be possible now that I've been sleeved.[/quote']
I agree. My husband is not overweight however he has sleep apnea, therefore, although excess fat is most likely the # 1 reason for apnea, it is definitely not mutually exclusive. BTW Gustavo.. Love the pic. I have confidence you'll get there again, even if you need a little help from implants. I mean the sleeve is a tool that we are using to better our physiques why not implants right? Oh and I don't think you are being vein, as there is nothing wrong with being confident with your outward apparence. Good luck to you.

I would check your doctors pre-op diet guidelines. Every doctor is different. I had 2 weeks of liquid only.
