Thank you folks for your responses. In an effort to go vegetarian a bit, I significantly reduced the meat from my diet and perhaps that was the mistake.

I'm a little concerned because I was told by my surgeon liquids only for a month after surgery... then to soft foods you seem to be starting them early have you tried vita fusion or spring valley chewable vitamins.... the Gummy kind seem to sit better for sleeve patients.... I personally take prenatals.. chewables... but I wouldn't take any of the solid pills simple because I doubt our bodies could absorb them as needed the chewables are easier and softer on the tummy... I still fight with the fatigue... I think it's normal as your body is going through huge changes.... I lost my weight faster then I expected... I now weigh less then what I have lost. It's an incredible journey and there are some downfalls and some ups and it's a bit of a crazy ride. But it's worth it. Making your own Soups is great I did that before I had my surgery and froze the broths... a lot less salt... but one thing to remember... sleeve patients tend to be short or low on salt so you might need to keep watch on that and make sure you get enough...These are my experiences on my journey.... Everyone is different.... but many of our nutrition needs are close to one anothers I wish you a lot of good on your journey

I am about 16 days out and must say that until 4 days ago, I was feeling extra extra week, with brain fog. I was taking in Protein and losing weight at a good clip but the fatigue and cramps in my calf muscle. Today I am feeling better and the changes I made in the my routin are as following:
    1) I read an article on Iron and fatigue and the association with Vitamin C so I have attached that article with the post if you wish to read. I am have started taking chewable Iron supplements.
    2) I switched from drinking broth and sodium laden Soups from the grocery isle to making my own indian style lentils (toor daal OR moong daal many varities in Indian Grocery stores--will post my recipe soon). I blend it with Water and a hard boiled egg (or just chew the hard boiled egg pieces really well) and 1 cup of greek yogurt (19g of protein). So the cup of lentil Soup blended with egg and i cup of greek yogurt is plenty of Protein for the meal.
    3) I make DARN sure that I take at least 80 ounces of Water.< /p>
    4) Add one banana to the two protein smoothies I have in a day (so two bananas and two whey protein scoops in the whole day)
    5) My Multivitamins made me nauseous so I switched to my children's flintstones and they seem to not make me nauseous although I do need to chew more pills
So far my weight loss is still on track and the fatigue is down by 50% or more. I am sharing this experience with everybody and hope this helps.
    Just wanted to share.

I, too, am sleeping more but I think it's getting better the more I recover. Also, I found patch MD...........there is a whole variety of Vitamins and minerals that come in patch form. You can order them online. I just started using them. You can attach them to your back or hip or wherever they will stay attached. Hopefully they'll do the trick.

I would sleep 10hrs a night if I could...usually I'm in bed at 8p...I used to struggle to sleep...no longer. I'm on my 7th week. Just follow your body, it knows best. If it's a quiet afternoon and your body says nap...do it. Our bodies have so much to readjust to. Let it lead you. As far as Vitamins, my husband has the same issue. Sometimes taking it with food helps.

I am measuring the calories to the dot. My smoothie is typicaally ice, one premier Protein shake (30 grams), one scoop whey Protein and frozen berries or strawberries or cut peach. Typically about 300 cals to 350 cals. Last me an hour and stay with me most of the day till afternoon. I am probably doing 700 to 900 calories one week out. Experimenting with Soups. I have not started the mushy food yet. Not until mid Oct according to mu NUT. Never was a fan of sweet beverages EXCEPT cappacinos and esspresos.
But Lisa Mergs is right. Drinking like a champ.

Hi everybody, i had my sleeve surgery last week (09/06). It thankfully went perfectly and no hassles except what was to be expected. I am losing weight, but have a small concern. Until two or three days ago when I was on clear liquid diet and stomach was healing and swollen, I could barely swallow and keep up with the dietary needs. But last couple of days, I feel that I can drink a decent quantity of full liquids without any problems. E.g. I can down a 32 oz ninja blender cup of Protein smoothie over about one hour easily. One week out of surgery is that normal. I am not going to get cocky and indulge in real food for the next 4 weeks as my surgeon told me to, but is there anyone who had the same experience. I mean being able to down a 24 to 32 oz Protein smoothie over one hour and take big sips, one week out of surgery.
    Thanks and please share.

Look, I am about to have my surgery on Sep 16th. If I lose my expected weight, that will be 140 pounds, It is like as if I carry another human being on me all the time and that human being chokes me when I am asleep, gives me back ache, takes the extra seat on the airline and most of all has not let me run in over 10 years. If I have to give up coffee and switch to Decaf to get rid of this 140 pound human being that I carry on me-amen.

I saw dr Nicholson and was told the same. I think insurance approves the surgery for hiatal hernia but does not object to bariatric if it is already paying . Two in one.
In full disclosure I am taking the tougher qualification route to instill discipline.
Btw we're you asked to do a sleep study also?

Hello I met my potential surgeon couple of days ago. He said that my insurance (BCBS TX - PPO) requires a criteria approval process but that he can expedite it by going the Hiatal Hernia route. As in get the approval for Hiatal Hernia repair and once he is in there, he can do whatever - i.e. do the gastric sleeve. It seems a bit off the track. I am concerned that if there are any risks afterwards like denial of payment in case of complications due to sleeve if the operation was done under the guise of Hiatal Hernia. Has anyone heard of this? Is this common? What should I do?
