  1. Thank you folks for your responses. In an effort to go vegetarian a bit, I significantly reduced the meat from my diet and perhaps that was the mistake. jilani

  4. Hi: I had my sleeve on 09/06/2016. Obviously stomach capacity was very tight in the beginning and it gradually started loosening. Progressively my stomach capacity now seems to be pretty decent three months out. I am experiencing a bit of a slow down in the speed of weight loss. But keeping at it. Problem is that: 1) I can down 10 to 12 ounces of food no problem if I want to. 2) I can gulp down a Protein shake no issues. 3) I feel like can slowly eat soft mushy food non-stop. II have not tried it yet though. 4) I do feel slight hunger if I have not eaten. ( I work out nearly two hours a day) What have your individual experiences? Is it because I am a male-does gender matter? Please chime in. -J

I understand that stalls happen and the weight is lost in a non-linear manner and all that. I am not freaked out about the stalls even though not having the positive feedback does deflate your balloon a little bit. However I am interested in listening from long timers, especially those who had had the surgery 3 to 6 months ago or even a year ago. Following are my questions: 1) In a longer term, what are approximate timings when stalls typically happen. e.g. everyone says at 3rd week, but what about 3 months or 4 months etc? What have your stall history been? 2) If you had surgery 3 months or 6 months or 9 months or one year ago, how many stalls did you experience approximately? 3) How long your individual stalls last (try and remember how long it took to get the needle moving)? 4) Were there any special considerations or change to your routine that you undertook to break it? e.g. eat more Protein, eliminate carbs or drink Water or double the exercise? What particularly helped you break the stall? 5) Has anyone come across any research or videos especially from medical or research resources? Please share. Please elaborate. I am interested in experiences. I am not freaked out or anything, just seeking detailed information and stories from people who are going through the journey for a longer while than a few weeks. Detailed responses are much appreciated. Have a nice holiday season. e positive feedback does deflate your balloon a little bit. 7. Hello: I was sleeved september 6th. My post surgery experience has been pretty simple. I am ending my 4th week tomorrow. In the last week or so, I feel like a very very low mild pain in the muscle of the abdomen behind the stitches(glue) and if I run my finger, I can almost localize sore spot under the skin. i am not a paranoid or a hypochondriac, but does the soreness of the abdominal wall (almost in a local area) remain after 4 weeks? Anybody experiencing that? thanks
  8. beginanew: DO NOT HESITATE. this is a no brainer. you have much less than 1% chance of complications compared to more than 80% chance of diabetes, heart attack, stoke, HBP, apnea, kidney issues, depression, arthritis and on and on with obesity. IT IS A NO-BRAINER. and really not that hard.
  9. I am about 16 days out and must say that until 4 days ago, I was feeling extra extra week, with brain fog. I was taking in Protein and losing weight at a good clip but the fatigue and cramps in my calf muscle. Today I am feeling better and the changes I made in the my routin are as following: 1) I read an article on Iron and fatigue and the association with Vitamin C so I have attached that article with the post if you wish to read. I am have started taking chewable iron supplements. 2) I switched from drinking broth and sodium laden Soups from the grocery isle to making my own indian style lentils (toor daal OR moong daal many varities in Indian Grocery stores--will post my recipe soon). I blend it with Water and a hard boiled egg (or just chew the hard boiled egg pieces really well) and 1 cup of greek yogurt (19g of protein). So the cup of lentil Soup blended with egg and i cup of greek yogurt is plenty of protein for the meal. 3) I make DARN sure that I take at least 80 ounces of water. 4) Add one banana to the two protein smoothies I have in a day (so two bananas and two whey protein scoops in the whole day) 5) My multivitamins made me nauseous so I switched to my children's flintstones and they seem to not make me nauseous although I do need to chew more pills So far my weight loss is still on track and the fatigue is down by 50% or more. I am sharing this experience with everybody and hope this helps. Just wanted to share. Anemia Following Weight Loss Surgery (2) (1).pdf

    Charleyhorse?

I get that from time to time. 2 weeks out. I am using a lot of broth and using salt substitute that has potassium. keep up the multivitamins and drink drink drink.

    Still feel so weak.

I felt the same. Two weeks out. I have tried to do two things which helped me a lot: 1) Up your Protein. I add a bowl of greek yogurt to my Soup. Greek yogurt is very high in protein and an easy way to make your protein intake easier. I also try to blend an egg in the soup from time to time. 2) Water water water. The only two times I felt dizzy and low on energy is when I less than half what I need to drink. All the best.
  12. Hi there. Have two questions to recent or recovered sleevers. I am exactly 2 weeks post surgery. 1) I never used to sleep 7 hours a day. These days I am clocking 10 hours of sleep. If I seep less, I a usually not focused or like today, end up sleeping close to 3 hours in the afternoon. Any experiencing or experienced this? 2) Multivitamin chewable tablets are making me nauseous. It is very clear. Everytime I have it, I get a bout of nausea. Fortunately have not hurled yet. Any experiencing this? Has anybody found an alternative which does not require wearing a patch? Thanks, Jilani

    Stomach capacity

I am measuring the calories to the dot. My smoothie is typicaally ice, one premier Protein shake (30 grams), one scoop whey protein and frozen berries or strawberries or cut peach. Typically about 300 cals to 350 cals. Last me an hour and stay with me most of the day till afternoon. I am probably doing 700 to 900 calories one week out. Experimenting with Soups. I have not started the mushy food yet. Not until mid Oct according to mu NUT. Never was a fan of sweet beverages EXCEPT cappacinos and esspresos. But Lisa Mergs is right. Drinking like a champ.
  14. Hope everybody did great. I will write the salient features of my experience soon.
  15. Ok Lacee Mouse, all the best. Ping me if you want to know my experience, I went with Dr Cribbins. Good guy.
