It sounds to me like you're doing great. Keep up with the walking, add in some good carbs like PDXMan suggested and don't let the scale drive you crazy! That's what kids are for!

So I finally decided to bare trying on clothes after losing so far 57 pounds. I went to Torrid yesterday since they were having a buy one get one half off sale. I tried on this dress http://www.torrid.com/torrid/Clothing/Dresses/Casual//Black+And+Electric+Blue+Color+Block+Maxi-536490.jsp and another maxi dress. I used to wear a size 4 (26/28 )in this store and now I'm down to a size 2 (18/20) when it comes to dresses. I was so excited I started crying thinking about how when I was bigger it was harder to find something and how far I've come. It felt really good fitting into those dresses. So now I have two cute dresses for my trip to Europe next month. Here's a pic of the other dress I bought. Can't wait to see more results and enjoying my new life.

I just ordered Pure Protein Shakes which have 35 grams of Protein and 160 calories. I was told to keep the shakes under 200, but every Dr. Is different!

Good LORD! Never get a hot dog from 7-11. My husband was desperate. There were 3 hot dogs on the grill and he got one of them. He went in two days later and there were still two hot dogs on that grill machine thing.
They may have been the same dogs or not. We will never know.

Made these for dinner tonight- 1 was more than enough for me (plus salad). The other adults in my family each ate 2. We all voted this is a definite do again!!!! Portion controlled.
    Lasagna Cupcakes
2 cup marinara sauce (I just used 1 jar)
3/4 pound ground beef or turkey
    24 wonton wrappers
    8 ounces shredded mozzarella
    3 ounces Parmesan cheese
    4 ounces Ricotta cheese
    (optional) basil for garnish
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray muffin tin (12) with cooking spray.
Brown beef and season with salt and pepper. Drain. Add sauce. Mix.
Begin with a wonton wrapper and press it into the bottom of each muffin tin.
Spread with a small spoonful of Ricotta cheese.
Top with a little meat sauce then some parmesan and mozzarella.
Use around 2 teaspoons of all the ingredients depending on your personal preference.
    Repeat layers ending with cheese.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until edges are brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. To remove use a knife to loosen the edges then pop each lasagna out. Garnish with basil (if desired) and serve.

my mom was coming for a visit about one month post WLS. When she called, she said "I can't wait to see my skinny daughter"
I laughed and said, sorry mom i'm losing weight, but after one month i am not exactly at goal
    she was really disappointed
what are people thinking, do they think all this excess weight that we put on over the years, will melt off over a week-end? OMG

    IlyssaDel,
I saw the recipe and I decided to do it. It very good and it taste like lasagna.
    Shelly's Baked Ricotta
    8 oz of Ricotta cheese
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan
    1 large Egg, beaten
    1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
    salt & pepper to taste
    1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
    1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave

I can assure that all of us getting this surgery have currently or in the past struggled with patterns of binge eating. Aside from the physical aspects of WHY we're overweight, so many of us, if not all, have some type of emotional eating patterns. Take it from someone who has done psych evals personally...we want you to be up front and honest...we mostly want you to be able to demonstrate and verbalize awareness and insight into the reasons for wanting this surgery and how to mentally prepare for the future, etc. They're mostly looking out for you, and thank god they do it, too! Could you imagine someone with severe mental illness getting this surgery? Or some type of diagnosed eating disorder or substance abuse issue that has not been resolved? Any type of mental illness, if not stabilized, will most likely increase in severity after an extreme surgery like this. Keep your head up! I know you'll be fine!
