  1. Ok you guys, I hope that after I'm sleeved, my sex drive doesn't take a nose dive. I'm already scraping the bottom of the barrel to make it happen. To be honest with you I can't put my finger on why I can't get in the groove. My husband works out and his body is the bomb dot com (at least in my eyes). I look at him and think "man I want to get it on", then I think about the energy it would take to do it and i'm like "nah, I'll pass" lol. I don't exercise, and now that I think about it, when I was exercising I was more into it. I just don't have the time now.

I think far to often we get use to the "norm" and when the idea of change comes into the picture, the "what ifs" scares the crap out of some people. Most women tend to have a much easier time expressing their true inner feelings, men tend to usually keep their feelings under wrap. Their like an onion sometimes, you have to peel through each layer one by one to get to the real deal, and once your there tears might flow! I never understood why men have such a hard time expressing themselves. Nevertheless I agree with the rest of the forum, reassure him that you do love him and NEED him to be by your side through this. (they need to feel needed). Tell him that your feelings for him won't change and I've always believed in keeping things direct....ask him if he's fearful of something or feeling insecure. But most of all give him that reassurance that you will still be the person he married and the one that loves him unconditionally. Good luck on your journey to sleeve. I can hardly wait to join you!

  3. Glad to hear surgery went well, I hear the n/v is bad after surgery. That's something I'm not looking forward to. I do hear it gets better. Walk, walk, walk is what everyone says. I hope you start feeling better soon. We will be praying for you. I'm a firm believer that if he brought you to it he will bring you through it. The good thing is you are remaining positive.

  4. I must say that this forum has been God sent. There are a lot people here that have undergone some of the same things that you have and have traveled down the same road that you are about to embark upon. These individuals will be able to offer you advice and support as you start your weight loss journey. I myself am awaiting surgery so I can relate to some of what you're feeling. I have to say that this is one of the scariest surgeries for me also. I wish you the best of luck and will continue to keep you in prayer. _/\_

  5. I'm an RN, and now Family nurse practitioner as of April, I was sleeved August 30, 2011 and could not be happier! I started at 269 and now weigh 174. It was the best decision I ever made, even though it was a tough initial decision working in health care! I am 28 years old and haven't started a family yet but now we are nearly ready!

Congratulations on your new FNP role. How was it transitioning from nurse to Provider? I am scheduled to graduate on December 14. I have completed all my classes, I just have one clinical semester to complete this fall. As the day get's closer, I can hardly believe I have made it and I'm getting increasingly nervous about having to take on a new role. After working in the clinic all day, I ask myself "Do I really want to do this?" It's so much responsibility. I can tell you I was always the inpatient patient watching the clock in the waiting room. I now have a new found respect for the doctors, lol. I am waiting to get sleeved and have not etched a date in stone. I have to first wait to see how my clinical rotation will be scheduled and how I will be able to juggle it with work. I do think that this surgery will help in all areas. It's so hard to be on your feet all day seeing patients when you're overweight and shortwinded yourself!
