  1. Thank you for that info. Yesterday went well with preop testing. There is another couple here at the same time which is such a blessing. Calmed my husbands nerves to have someone here to talk to about man concerns. :) had a nice steak dinner last night' date=' now lying in bed in hotel morning of surgery. The hospital and doctors seem very nice. I know I shouldn't be worried but I'm guessing its normal before any surgery to feel a bit over whelmed, waiting to actually get everything going. I appreciate any prayers you could say. Thank you! I'm missing my kiddos and look forward to returning home to them! I'll keep you posted as toggle the days events go. Right now it's 5:45a and I'm going to get showered and packed for out 7:00 pick up. :)[/quote']

Congrats and good luck! It will be over with before you know it! Praying for you to have a speedy recovery.

  2. So I woke up this morning and decided Dr. Garcia it is! I have a few more questions for alma and I will be locked in by this evening. Thank you everyone for your opinions and support. When I had my Lapband put in 6 in a half years ago I didn't have anyone' date=' when i had it out a year ago i didn't have anyone who understood. It's nice to have support. Thank you all!![/quote']

Good for you! Once I decided to go with Dr Garcia I had a sense of peace about my choice. Hooray for us!

  3. I meant Dr Almanza. Read both good and bad things about him.

I have heard of him doing 6-8 surgeries a day. I've also heard he's done more than that, I don't know if the other numbers are true. I think that is a bit excessive and some have reported waiting all day for surgery because he had so many. I will say that one of my best friends went to Almanza. She will be a year out in Feb. she had no complications and looks great. She says the staff/doctor was great. She was about the third surgery for the day and hers went off without a hitch.

  4. Yeah my DH took me out to eat a few nights ago to Celebrate my graduation, and I seriously over did it. I was so miserable when I was done eating, (you know that overfull feeling) and by the time I went to bed I was up heaving with that horrible acid reflux feeling in my throat. I have lost a few pounds by just making better food choices, but I'm sure I gained them all back after that meal!

  5. Thank you all so much for your compliments and encouragement. You lifted me up and spurred me on!!!

Good question' date=' SweetTee. I started at 234 lbs. in the pictures you see and I'm 5" 0' Started in 18/20W pants and I'm now very comfortable in size 14 jeans. My size 2X tops are now Misses mediums.

    Thanks again![/quote']

We're pretty close in stats. I'm 5'1 & 232 lbs. I hope to have results like yours

  6. Lol. I am driving my husband crazy! When I looked it was cheaper from CAK. I went to Priceline' date=' Travelocity.[/quote']

Yeah I'm driving my husband pretty nuts myself! He may be coming with me. A new co has taken over the place he works for and he may have a hard time getting off for that long! I may just go alone so he can takeoff when I get back. Aah it's just so many decisions.....:)

  7. I'm so calm' date=' cool as cucumber but my tummy is rumbling! If you guys only knew what it has taken to get to this point.....you would to be asking why isn't she jumping & shouting! I honestly think doing the research, preparing, jumping through hoops kind of took on all the fears, anxieties and questions away. Now just to get past the waiting and through the pain and back to living a better life! Today is VSG date.[/quote']

Good luck! Where are you having surgery? I'm anxious for Feb to get here so I can be in your shoes. Praying for a speedy recovery for you.

  8. I am a week out from surgery (well close) I was sleeved December 4. Today has been a horrible day as I have been an emotional wreck and honestly was wondering if I made the right decision. I have been very tearful and the full liquid stage is depressing. Does this pass when you can go on to purees and honestly in my mind I just don't want it to always be like this. :) Any advice would help.

I'm still pre op so I don't have any advice to give only support and encouragement. I hear everyone say that this is what to expect at first. I'm so dreading this stage! But it's been proven that it too shall pass. I pray it gets better for you. I'll be in your shoes in 70 days, I'm lifting you up in spirit and praying for a swift recovery! :) sending hugs your way!
