Just had a half hour phone call with the short stay RN. liquids for the next 24 hours. My doctor considers yogurt a liquid! I was more nervous a week ago. I think maybe I'm misreading excited as nervous.

This is true - when my surgeon came in to the final meeting prior to my groups surgery and explained why the need to the liver shrinking diet' date=' about how easy it is to nick it, how what he needs to get at is directly below it - (that incision high on the chest at bra line is for the liver retractor, which is slimmer than a pencil).[/quote']And the tools they use are different, too. There are different sizes of laparoscopic tools.

Acupuncture is awesome for muscular and soft tissue concerns! I like massage and I get them. But if I'm in pain, I get acupuncture. I like trigger point too.

I cannot view/change/delete my current signature under settings.
When I click on "signature" it shows my surgery ticker but not the quote that shows up every time I post.
Please help! I'm ready to change it but I can't find it!
Thank you

Did everyone go to FB? I'm still "worried" about my privacy :-/
Several of July people who were posting consistently haven't been posting since surgery. I hope they're okay and I hope they did all go to FB. Lol.

And that you'll have to lose every pound you gain now! With surgery next Wed the 25th, I wish I would've made this connection sooner. I wasn't over-eating but not working as hard at cleaning up my diet.
About a month ago I realized that I could've started at a lower surgery weight thus getting me closer to goal with the sleeve?
I don't think I'm saying this as clearly as its in my head.
Must be time to sleep.

I have my final pre-op appointment. I have a couple of questions and I think I'm prepared with all the collective knowledge here; yet, I keep wondering g if I'm asking the most effective questions to help me manage next week. What kind of questions did you have at this last appointment? Anything you wish you'd asked pre-op?
Thanks for the support!

Are you guys on Zofran or promethazine? Is it controlling the nausea when you're on it? (So not looking forward to nausea.)

I had my gall bladder out 10 yrs ago' date=' but the nurse in me thinks I have a stone in my common bile duct that may have sneaked into or around my pancreas. They didn't see anything on the CT scan but who knows if they were looking.[/quote']
I trust you!

I feel like the docs at the ER are goin to think I'm crazy.
They might, but you're not. That kind if thinking is what happens when people, who are trained to find problems and solve them, can't. They start to look for other solutions that become a slippery slope. Listen to your body, your wisdom and persist. And trust your mother
I'm hoping for a fast next step.

Well it is now official I was sleeved this morning at 7:30. All things considered I'm feeling really good. Everyone is right about the walking it really does help. When I first woke up I had more discomfort than I expected but it was mostly from the trapped air in the upper abdominal area. The incisions actually don't hurt too bad but off course I am still on pain meds but only half a dose every 4 hours. I also had a hiatal hernia repair and it sounds like a lot of the tightness/soreness is related to that. Thank you everyone for your prayers' date=' kind thoughts and well wishes. I've learned a lot of valuable information from all of you that is going to make this journey so much more Enlightened and rewarding.[/quote']Congratulations to you!

Are you fine now? Did they remove anything or just give you meds? I've had blood tests EKG X-ray cat scan an ultrasound and they haven't found ANYTHING. I made an appointment with a gastro doc so we will see what happensI am terrified of this continuing to happen and without a diagnosis I don't know what behaviors to
Change...
I had a friend who went through this for far too long. Too many drugs. Missed a work promotion, etc. They even sent her for psych counseling. Finally she switched Gastro docs. The new doc did exploratory surgery and found adhesions on the outside of her stomach and intestine. These don't show up when you scope the inside! She'd had a car accident 2 years prior and had internal damage that went undiagnosed. Cleaned the adhesions and bam! No drugs, no pain, vomitting.

I'd go with hormones. I have a lot of thick hair and I lost handfuls of hair postpartum while breast feeding and then again when I stopped. I've never been vitamin/mineral deficient. Fat stores a lot of estrogen that gets released in weight loss.

I really enjoyed watching the surgery and the surgeon interview. Is it just me or is the radiologist condesending? I felt myself reacting to him. Just want perspective.
