Factor 75 saved my butt and my family when I was post op knee surgery and non weight bearing for 8 weeks!!! (Not cooking and not carrying anything) Great food. My husband and I often shared a meal.

Interesting that milk and ice cream are the culprits as they both have high sugar content compared to the dairy you can tolerate.
Good luck to you and your husband on keto! You can do it!!!Stella S and jess9395 reacted to this -
Congratulations! Super news!!!

Keto may really help you kick the sugar. When I eat keto or close to keto, I do not have cravings. High fat really works well for me. High Protein sometimes leaves me feeling more hunger. So, for example, if I don't eat enough fats and eat chicken (high protein but lean) for a couple days, I get hungry or cravings.
Fats mainly come from avocado, cream and nuts. Sometimes butter.Stella S reacted to this -
Hoping that it's because you're building muscle and having some hormone fluctuations before you see a couple pound drop.
Good job finding movement that you like and will hopefully bring you joy.Ms skinniness reacted to this -

The weight loss is fantastic! Ulcer is so painful. It's probably pretty scary to have one in a pouch and not know why, huh? Like how do I prevent another one. Impressed that the surgeon could make a second pouch!
Glad you're on the mend! -
Chemical gastritis is erosive gastritis commonly caused by NSAIDs. This types of gastritis causes ulcer-like lesions in the mucosa. Confirmed by EGD biopsy. There are actually a few types of gastritis. The other common gastritis is caused by H Pylori.

I call that my U-Turn, Coops
I've had massive orthopedic surgeries in the last year and I have one more in a few months. The regain is real and it's a daily mental investment that I sometimes really have no control over. My recoveries are long and I depend on others to feed me. That gets really hard on them after say, 8 weeks! If I get weight focused, I will lose the war.
I just had labs. My lipids and fasting glucose are perfect. No Vitamin or mineral deficiencies. My BP is acceptable (I like it lower but MDs are happy). These are the true reasons for me to be on this journey. To live a long life. The weight will come back off!ProudGrammy, coops and ausmith reacted to this -
This board has been through this before. Generally I take a hiatus and come back periodically. I'm sorry to read that things blew up on highly valued members who gave a lot and have a lot of experience. Hopefully a break will bring them back around.

Hey everyone. I am 3 years post op VSG. My hw was 236 sw 226 lw 124 now I'm 142. I'm ok with my weight and eat healthy religiously but have some medications that are slowing me down. I came here today because I had my surgery done in Mexico in 2013 and never had my Vitamins checked until a few weeks ago. My vit D is 5.9, my B12 is 291, and magnesium is 1.8. these are all pretty low. I am currently taking 50000 units Vitamin D2 1x weekly and a Multivitamin. My biggest thing is the b12. I have noticed over the last year I am having difficulty getting it in. I had to stop taking the sublingual due to dental issues. I'm unsure if or how much intrinsic factor my body has and my family doctor doesn't see a huge problem with my numbers. She has me on depression meds (part of the rebound weight cause) when maybe I just need more Vitamins? I'm pretty unsure at this point. I have asked for a referral to a bariatric doctor and waiting for insurance to decide. Until then, anyone care to share anything on this?
The longer I stay on this site the more I convinced I am that the norm is for a lower weight at year 2 with a regain in during year 2-3 to a stable weight. So many people are posting about 5-20 pound gains in that time. Makes the slooth in me wonder. *dear Internet, I'm not saying this is true for everyone*
I stay really active and any dip in that activity brings weight gain. It's a trade off 6 days a week in the gym or weight gain. I can not control with diet alone. For me that's okay. I love the workout. I've just had several surgeries since maintenance and I've experienced what sedentary does to my body.
Anyway, I take probiotic, fish oil, Multivitamin (gummy), b12 (gummy), Vit D with Calcium, and Vit C.
Hope you find what works for your body.

The farther out I get, the less one year post op seems to qualify. So many changes happen in the 3rd year.
I do think there is still a major difference on this thread as people move into maintaining versus people who have been in maintenance for a long time.

I follow some pretty active crossfitters from here on MFP. Do you use that app?

I've had a small regain since 2 surgeries sidelined me for 7 months. Is anyone actively starting 5:2 and those who use the protocol for 2013, are you still using it? I'm going to watch the video.

I had erosive gastritis in February and March from super high does of ibuprofen for a preop injury. The surgeon had me on a PPI to try to prevent a problem but it didn't work for me.
It's painful to have many lesions on the stomach lining. It also wore now out!!!
I felt better with something in my stomach than letting it get empty. That was probably related to acid on an empty stomach.
I had an endoscope, 8 weeks on Sucarafate and Protonix. No diet restrictions.
Hope you are feeling better.

It depends on the type of yoga you're practicing. For example, Vinyasa yoga (flow) burns calories and builds muscle as each asana is held only for 3-5 breath cycles and uses the large muscle groups.
I would encourage anyone new to yoga to read about different forms and try a few different types/teachers.

Toddler Yoga cracked me up! There are many many different forms of yoga practiced in public/group settings.
Restorative yoga is gentle and slow.
I think it's awesome that you're listening to your body and finding your body's way.

I am a dancer and I teach dance. When you say something might come loose are you referring to surgery? My surgeon and I had this conversation post op. I need clear rules or I find loop holes. She was frank and said, "nothing is coming undone but you will make yourself very sore if you do too much too soon."

I agree that it's really important to strengthen your core and hips. Those are the stabilizers for everything else! I second the PT so you have a solid assessment and plan since you are having pain/discomfort from walking. I'm excited for you to find solutions that work for your body! Good luck.

If you have Amazon Prime then you have access to free music. Amazon has some great "workout" playlists already put together. They kinda build and cool down. I like them when I'm stuck for what I want to listen to. Helps me find my mojo.

Eating a lot for how long? I did go straight to the glee of your love life! That certainly could be emotional eating for me. Maybe track your moods/thoughts as your eating. I'm glad you posted about this. I go through hunger spurts and can usually tie it to a change in activity but also to seasons changing. Weird.

I agree with ISG, buyer remorse appears to be super normal. Probably part of the forced change process. I remember having similar worries as did my many people sleeved around the same time in July, "my pack".

I hope you enjoy the food. I would say a great stand in for what you describe. Fresh and full flavors. Not salty and soggy like some frozen foods can be. And for my purposes, no prep work was a must. My husband was taking care of everyone and working full time. Would have been really easy to eat PBJ and pizza and Chinese. All a slippery slope!!! Hope you report back!
