  2. glued in belly button, and 3 other locations glued for hiatal hernia repair.
  3. Wow, is this what I'm facing after I get Fills. My first fill is Sept 18. On mushy/puree foods.
  4. you might try to airbrush a tan at a salon to see if it covers the scar.
  5. Congratulations on the weight loss. Keep the faith and best wishes.
  6. The same here with milk of magnesium. The decaf coffee loosens everything up and all is okay.
  7. Well, I'm down 50.7 pounds overall since June 18, less than 3 months of diet. Since my band on Aug 6, I've lost close to 17 pounds. But I purchased a pair of bluejeans that were 4 sizes smaller and I thought maybe in the future I might be able to wear them. I tried them on and they fit NOW. I'm stoked and very happy. 4 sizes in less than 3 months.
  8. When I don't want to travel 30 miles to Trader Joe's, I shop at my Fresh N Easy store. They have packages of individual servings as well as family size which are fresh, yummy and tasty. I buy my chicken breast pieces pre-cooked from them. They are chopped up already and I take 2-3 oz to work for lunch. Being single, I don't cook for myself much and I can afford to buy ready made.
  9. Talk with your family doctor and explain your family medical history with him. The doctor can write a short synopsis on WHY you need the surgery. Best wishes and hoping everything goes okay.
  10. Tomatoe soup has citric acid in it. This causes bubbles and gas in any stomach. Some major eating places add a touch of baking soda to remove most of the acid in a tomatoe bisque soup. Since you are recent post op, try switching to a lowfat cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. Alternate your days between all 3 Soups.
  11. Costco premier protein chocolate shakes in the freezer for 45-55 minutes. A smoothie to die for.
  12. toast? wow you are lucky. My surgeon stated NO breads of any sort.
  13. I've never regretted doing the band. In fact, I counted the days until my surgery. I am so optimistic that the band will do its job. All I have to do is my part in getting to my weight reduction goals. I've had a easy time so far and am looking towards my first fill on Sept 18. Be positive in all your actions! Keep the faith and Be strong in your new journey.
  14. costco Premier Protein Shakes (chocolate) is great. I put in freezer for 45-55 minutes and drink like a thick smmothie. For shoulder pains, use heating pad on high for 10-15 minutes each shoulder pain occurence. SIP lots of Water. Stay on liquids as long as possible. After my band on Aug 6, I stayed on liquids until I saw amy doctor, 16-17 days later. I've had an easy time so far. I drove my car the next day after surgery and I attended a weight reduction seminar at 7pm. Best wishes on your band.
  15. Be positive and Keep the Faith. YOU can do It! We are all here in this forum to help each other and grow from band/bypass surgery. Get your questions ready? Best wishes
  16. Protein shake and greek nonfat yogurt for breakfast, lunch 4oz chicken breast,SF jello cup or low sugar Mott applesauce.
  17. The band can be your friend. YOU still have to do all the work and say NO. Best wishes
  18. oops, I didn't see your recent band date. I thought you had the band a longer time. You are healing!
  19. coffee restrictions for me are NO caffeine at all. My doctor doesn't believe in any caffeine or carbonated drinks of any kind, decaf or not.
  20. For a day or two, try increasing food intake to 1200-1300 calories. Sometimes our body needs additional calories to start up again.
  21. Hello Pooh, I'm near Santa Barbara and Welcome to this great forum. Best wishes, Be positive and Keep the Faith.
  22. Welcome! The most important thing is your doing something to be healthy and better for yourself. You're doing this for YOU! None of us really don't know what the surgeon saw or not, we were on good drugs. It's better too pick a good surgeon that you like after meeting him. Look him/her up on a google search and find info on trhe doctor. Ask friends if they know the doctor. Remember, doctor's are professional and trained in their expertise. Best wishes and try and get over this feeling. There's more important work ahead for you getting ready for surgery, attending seminars, seeing a dietian and completing lots of lab & tests to get ready. Be positive and Keep the faith.
  23. You're healing and anything is normal and different to each of us. You were filled with gas to bloat your stomach prior to band. It disapates with time. Us ea heating pad on medium for 10 minutes on top of your belly. This helped me.
  24. I went 17 days post op on liquids before I saw my doctor. I lost 16 pounds in 17 days and I was around 800-900 calories each day. You can do it!
