I go for my pre op on Monday. I'm excited to see what happens next. I want be able to have my surgery until December though because if financial situation.

I just went to My pre op appt today. It was pretty quick. Got weighed again. Saw dr and he went over some last min things. Signed papers. Got more informational papers. Gave me my rx's for after the surgery. Then got My 2 week supply of shakes. They also scheduled my pre admission testing at the hospital. I have 5 more days till I start pre op diet! Surgery is 10/25

Hi!!! I am with Peacthree Bariatrics..Got my approval from insurance about 2 weeks ago. Got scheduled thru Lolita at his office for my initial consult with Dr Duncan' date='EGD,pre Op and surgery. I saw Dr DUncan for my initial appt today!! He is sooooooooo sweet and so full of knowledge...Eased my mind and my husband's (and he is a VERY hard sell)..My pre op appt is 7 27 09 and my egd is 7 29 09...My surgery is scheduled for August 5th...It will come for you but word to the wise....CALL THEM OFTEN!! I am so happy! I didn't notice myself loosing weight even though I've gone from a 22 to a 16 in 60 days. These pictures spoke mountains to me!

How long does it take to work? Im on day 5 still smoking but less down to 7 OR 8 a day help this. Is really hard I won't to quit so dame bad! Help!!!

Are you saying your sleep study was canceled or your lap band appointment was canceled?

Sorry! sleep study was canceled my Inc.did not require this test my surgeon did. This was my last apt. Now what's next

It? Wasn't a required by Inc. But required by the doc.this was my last. Apt. What's going no help?

I was on here about 2 years ago working on my process for submitting for pre-approval with my insurance company. At that time I was 216, 5'5' and told by my Dr. to gain a little weight and the only co-morbid condition I had was slightly elevated high cholestrol. Well the office staff would not submit for preapproval stating they wouldn't approve me because of that and that a sleep apnea test would charge me out of pocket. I had did all my other appts dieatician, physchitrist appts etc.

Well now after 2 years of busting my butt again on diets to get this off with only loosing 12lbs this past year just to gain 36lbs now at my high of 240 (275 pregancy weights) I am DONE!! I've called the insurance company last night they did say that cholestrol would count as one and not to mention they cover the sleep apnea test at 100% so thanks to the office staff that gave me incorrect info just because she didn't want to do her job 2 years ago. So I am now on the journey again and have to redo ALL my pre evals because it's to old. Hopefully it works this time. The only thing I don't have this time is my DR. structure diet time, which I am hoping I don't have to go thru 6mths of that before I can submit it.

I have my initial appointment scheduled on Aug. 28--hope all goes well.

One question for any of you out there that may have the DC/MD plan BCBS....what co-morbidies did you have to get approved? How many tries?

Also, I never marked me as being depressed before and have never been treated as such, but this weight as really taken a toll on me lately, should I mark that as a problem on my medical sheet as a problem of my weight or would that just cause problems for me to get approved and cause more phys. appts?

Don't worry your self! I have bcbs of Georgia that required me to have chest x ray, physiological evaluation, nutrition, no weight loss required all other requirements were from the surgeon call your Inc.Co

The 28th will mark 3 months since my lapband surgery! Thought I would share a picture for anyone who is thinking of having it done! I am so greatful for my lapband' date=' look what it has done for me!

hello everyone . I'm planning to have the lap band done . I live I'm Savannah ga . close to Atlanta ga and Jackson ville. ga. I need to fine a doctor that is reasonable in price . I'm willing to travel . I don't. have insurance so I have to self say

I understand your frustration but like everyone else is saying' date=' the more time it takes, the more time you have to prep yourself for the surgery...also, you really shouldnt try to get pregnant for at least a year after being banded. The first year is the most crucial year with the band. I personally believe you will set yourself up for failure if you rush into getting pregnant right away. I've seen so many women do it before and they regret ever rushing into it. Im sure you've read that in your research, because I'm at a child bearing age and the doctor told me its very much contraindicated for me to get pregnant in the first year of being banded.
