I did this several times when I was on liquids. I told myself it wasn't a good idea as I didn't want to start something that seemed like a disorder. It helped me a little during the 2 weeks on liquid diet though but I haven't done it since starting foods.

Highest wt. June 261 lb.
Day of surgery 253 lb.
current wt 219 lb
Best decision I ever made. It wasn't easy but definitely not anything near what I worried about. By the 3 rd week post op I was walking everyday. If you are preop don't be afraid. Read all our stories and take courage - you are starting a new life.

I would say the onus is on you to disprove my assertion. It is common knowledge that alcohol is a blood thinner and remains one of the major reasons why those at risk of heart attack' date=' stroke or are on warfarin are strongly encouraged not to drink alcohol.
If you have evidence to disprove this please do share rather than making a drive by random comment.[/quote']
If you are trying to say that it decreases the ability of the body to produce the normal clotting mechanism that is quite different then saying 'thin ' blood

The reason post surgery it is generally I inadvisable to drink is because alcohol thins the blood which can have a damaging effect on internal stitches and staples which take up to six weeks to heal. After this' date=' there is no risks in drinking alcohol beyond what risks alcohol generally poses to everyone.
My surgeon and my NUT recommended the occasional red wine as part of a normal and healthy diet. I have enjoyed an occasional wine since I was six weeks out. I continue to lose weight.
A glass of red wine takes 8 minutes moderate jogging to burn off.[/quote']
Thins the blood? Your rationale is not accurate. .

If your going to Mexico I would recommend at least telling one person for your safety. In case you had a complication and needed support. It would be nice to have one person who could check in on you for TLC. Good luck

I had a lot of gas pain in this area.

My surgeon told me he is taking out more bands then putting in. I'm convinced sleeve was right for me. I didnt want to deal with fills and risk of infection, slips.

People who are not happy for you are miserable and resent others happpiness in any form.

Surgery 8/27 down17lbs. Glad I read this post as I haven't lost in a week and worried this isnt working. Hard to understand how weight can stall when taking in 700 - 900 calories day. I agree about the scale- have been weighing myself daily and it gets me down.

I was sleeved 8/27
Pain was no big deal. Well controlled in hosp and then took liquid pain med at home for several days. Not much nausea and none with meds in hospital. I was anxious but never thought of backing out. After 2 weeks I started to feel GREAT!! And back to myself. I took 3 weeks off from work. This 3rd week was do nice@ going for walks, out doing errands. You can go back to work in 2 weeks but the 4rd week is nice to have.
I have no regrets. Find a very experienced surgeon and a bariattic centrr of excellence. Good luck.
