    Inconsiderate Office Personnel.

Call the insurance company on Monday. I called every couple of days to see if they had received my paperwork.

    Insurance Denial?

That is good that there isn't a reason that you should be denied. I had just wondered if they had given you the idea it might be denied. I have BCBS Federal and they seemed pretty easy to deal with. If you have a good coordinator at your dr office they should be able to handle any hiccups that come up. I think they have to say that nothing is guaranteed. I only met the BMI requirement as I didn't have any other co-morbidities. I know it would be upsetting to come so far & be turned down. When they submit your things...just call the insurance company regularly to see where it is in the process... I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! Let us know how it goes!!
  4. At 2 weeks I was just transitioning from full liquids to puree/soft food. I was having a Protein Shake 11 oz in the am and would take me almost 90 min to eat, sf popsicles, egg drop Soup (broth only) and another shake at night plus Water & sf drinks. After 2 weeks added in scrambled eggs, soft mozzarella cheese, chicken. Even now at almost 6 weeks, can only eat few bites at a time. Liquids don't hold as much restriction as you will feel once you eat more dense things. I lost 10# @ 2 wks and 18# @ 1 month. Don't worry too much about the numbers. I'm up to about 26# post op.

    Insurance Denial?

I did not have that problem. I think I have seen previous posts talking about the steps if you are denied. Try searching "denial" and see what comes up. Is there a particular reason you think you will be denied?

    Diet Phases ?!?!

I agree...put a call into your NUT. For me it was first 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks puree/soft and 1 month regular. But both my dr and NUT (in the dr office) are on the same page with their phases. We were given a binder with info and sample diets. I do have to say that I'm still basically on liquids & soft going on 6 weeks post op. I have been adding little bit of regular here and there to find out what new tummy likes & doesn't. Currently having issues with milk (hoping it will pass because I like milk).

    Exercise!

I've been walking since day 1. Dr said 2 months I can start doing situps, pushups, etc. Currently no arm weights over 5 pounds. Low intensity cardio until 6 weeks (next Tuesday for me) & then increase as body allows.

What Is Everybody Having For Lunch?

    I'm allowed to have iceberg but have been sticking the fresh greens & spinach. NUT said iceberg is hard to digest for some...just not ready to test it out ;-}

    Skin And Hair

My NUT said it would stop between 6-9 mths. I haven't started losing any yet and holding my breath!!
  14. I asked my dr about getting a nausea patch. I applied it behind my ear the night before surgery and it lasts for 3 days. I didn't have any nausea post op in the hospital. They also have me phenagren on my IV. I hope that helps!

    Post Op- Day 3

It was at least a week. It felt like they stepped on me to pull my stomach out...lol A heating pad helped me out a lot on a low setting also an ace bandage around tummy for support. Hope you feel better soon!
  16. You have a deep stitch in the muscle layer where they took your stomach out. The lump is scar tissue and will break away. Once your incisions are healed gently massage them. I know that at 5 weeks I still get a slight pulling at that site. It gets better everyday!!!

    Unjury Chocolate Splendor

I still need shakes @ 5 weeks out. There is no way I could physically eat 80g of food at this time. My NUT gave me paperwork staying that weeks 1-4 that I will need 1-2 shakes to make protein requirements. I ust Premier Protein (Costco) and it is premade. I keep in fridge at all times....fav is chocolate.

I Just Want To Get Better

My dr gave me a 50/50 chance of needing a drain. He said it would depend on how my new tummy was doing right after surgery (if it was oozing a lot). Fortunately, I didn't need one. I really feel for you. I'm sure you will feel much better when they pull it (keeping my fingers crossed for Thursday).

    Shakes/jittery

Yes, I get this feeling sometimes too. I am 5 weeks today. I find the better hydrated the less I feel like that. It is all a learning curve with finding the right Proteins that don't make you feel ill. Trying new things & exercise limits as you move along. I also felt like this a lot this past weekend at my son's soccer tournament. I usually stand the whole time but felt very woozy and needed to keep sitting down. It wasn't hot just humid. I have been really focusing on keeping my fluids up.
  21. You will do great. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago today! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!

    Finally!

That is so wonderful!! My surgery weight was very close to yours & I'm at 241# now. I can't wait to get under 200#...hopefully by Christmas (I am 5 weeks today). Keep up the great work!!!
