  1. My dr and I used the BMI chart too. I thought once I get to the top of normal BMI I could reevaluate.
  2. Wow! That's amazing! You must feel fabulous are you close to goal now?
  3. Well today is 6 months since my surgery. I have lost 54.6 lbs. Sometimes I get discouraged by the slow loss but then I remind myself I am right on track. I have now lost 60% of my excess weight of 90 lbs which is what is to be expected. What is the expected weight loss after this time period? I don't remember, I'll have to go back and research. It is great to see so much success on this thread
  4. Wow!!!!! Congrats what an amazing accomplishment. And you are looking FABULOUS! 90 lbs is my goal too. It'll take me longer than you though. You are such an encouragement! Yay! So excited for you
  5. Can you see the info on a phone app or do you have to use an actual computer? It syncs wirelessly? Doesn't work for cycling? Only measures full flights of stairs? Is it accurate in measuring steps verses actual counted steps? How does it measure calorie burn? Thanks
  6. High/Surgery weight: 227 (July-3-12) Current weight: 174 Spring goal: 157 End Goal: 137 Height: 5'2" I am in a 3 week stall ugh... So I hope I'm not shooting for too high of a goal.
  7. High/Surgery weight: 227 (July-3-12) Current weight: 174 Valentine goal: 162 End Goal: 137 Height: 5'2" I have been in a long stall so I hope this goal is attainable
  8. Targetweight is the one I use and I like it.
  9. Well I didn't make my Christmas goal. I'm quite bummed about it. My goal was 6 pounds for the 5 weeks before Christmas. I only lost 4. I've been in a stall for 3 weeks now, sigh.... I've given up hope
  10. Both my dr and my NUT have advised that moderate alcohol is okay (it was a 1-2 month wait). My dr warned me that the alcohol will most likely hit quicker, which it does. The most I ever have is 2 drinks maybe twice a month. I find I get a buzz quick and it goes away quick. But my NUT is a nut in that she is always trying to up my carbs and I don't skimp on them as it is (or not as much as some people here). I choose to listen to my dr when they give me conflicting information.
  11. I'm glad you asked as I have been feeling some similar things. Crazy hormones when PMSing I never saw your original post. Sorry. Is there another support forum out there? I'll have to hunt around.
  12. I was the same at that stage (I'm 5 months out now) and could hardly drink water. I lived on Popsicles and yoghurt for the first while. Then graduated to string cheese, and on and on. I never did the protein shakes as they make me throw up and that really hurt! I get my protein in now and can drink water normally. It'll come around for you too
  13. Current weight: 175.2 3.2 to go I lose about 1.5 per week, so I should reach goal. If I stay away from the Christmas baking that is.
  14. In Alberta it's just over a year (15 months according to a friend who had it here) but there are also so many hoops to jump a well. It seems that part might be the same in the US. Mexico didn't have hoops, that's why I went there.
  15. Both my dr and nut have no issues with coffee as long as in moderation. But I'm further out and passed the healing stage. Have a good morning anyway
  16. Sounds good Sleeve date: July 3/12 Starting weight: 227 Start of challenge Nov 22: 178 Goal weight (Christmas): 172
  17. I surpassed my goal Not sure how but I won't weigh for a while so I won't see the expected weight gain after such an unexpected loss. Today's weight 178, goal was 180 Happy Thanksgiving!
  18. Well I just read about this so I thought I'd try it. I am always worried I can eat too much. Well, I would say mine is average. I ate 6 oz in about 8 min and am stuffed! Like feel yucky cause I'm too stuffed. I know it's supposed to be 5 min due to emptying. So if 5.5 is the average, I'm happy I'm average But I can eat more than this depending on what it is. Probably because oatmeal (my daily breakfast recommended by my NUT) is warm and thinner (than cottage cheese) and starts to empty. But I am just so relieved my sleeve is "normal"
  19. Sleeve date: July 3/12 Starting weight: 227 Start of challenge Oct 19: 187 Current weight Nov 19: 180.6 Goal weight (Thanksgiving): 180 So close I can taste it. Oh I'm so punny.
  20. Thanks for the challenge Sleeve date: July 3/12 Starting weight: 227 Start of challenge Oct 19: 187 Current weight Nov 9: 181.4 Goal weight (Thanksgiving): 180
  21. Wow! Walk a mile in someone's shoes before you judge them. As for the question if I have done research, yes I have. One thing I can tell you is that information is consistently inconsistent. Even between my dr and my nutritionist, I get different info. Too much bullying in this world. What else is there to say. Actually a lot, but I won't stoop that low.
